Bros, Sometimes, someone must always be blamed. It is not only in Nigeria. Ozil's case is still fresh.

Someone must be blamed but I didn't see the Spanish team blaming anyone after crashing out of the group stage of he 2014 World Cup

Germany blaming ozil, while Thomas muller who is one of the worst player was not blamed.

Watching SA league and am impressed with their stadia unlike ours which can give one eye sore. We need to wake up and improve our league. We must be transparent in biz deals cuz no one will want to put money where it can't be accounted for.

That's why I said "Sometimes". It happens everywhere (Not peculiar to Nigeria or Nigerians)

Many Nigerians who are well travelled will disagree. I’ve been in Abuja continuously for 5 months now, and spent a considerable amount of time in Lagos.
For one thing, Lagos has serious transportation challenges. Can Lagos host? Why not. But the question remains can we deliver the BEST AFCON experience ever? I beg to differ

With what will well traveled disagree?

I have been to atleast one or two countries in West Africa, Central Africa, East Africa, Middle East and Asia, so I know we might not be in the same level with the later two but the rest no reach us.

So, there is nothing to disagree about if Africa is the scale S.I unit measurement used to measure standard.

We are not comparing ourselves with America or Europe neither are we hosting FIFA world cup.

It's AFCON we are hosting. Can we host best AFCON? Why not! Mind you, we co hosted 2000 AFCON and it was at the time we were not this developed.

But they actually LOOK more talented than our NPFL players. They seem to know the rudiments of the game. Granted our presentation is very poor. Poor pitches do not aid a free flowing game.

Poor pitches as you stated above coupled with poor camera angles makes
the NPFL an eyesore.

It is not just pitches and camera angles. The play is poor. PSL is more entertaining

hahaha... Those guys are ahead of us in Soccer. Na because de no get talents.

Dutch, Irish, Brazilians etc all de play for their league. If they can have a platform to accomodate foreigners like the French national team in their senior team they can form a very formidable team.

Pains me Nacho is not playing under a system known for creating numerous goal scoring opportunities. He has the potential to be a lethal hit man but needs the right system to get the best out of him.

Kudos to him making the best out of the preseason and I hope he continues in the upward trajectory. He should stay focused and keep working hard. I hope Puel plays in a more offensive fashion this season and give Nacho a good run.

Not so Chief
Yakubu's goal gave us a 2-1 lead before Wanga equalized for Kenya. Martins saved the day for us.

Like I said Yakubu was a lethal striker for Nigeria but saying he scored "vital goals that helped us qualify for the WC" isn't correct. That's my point

Also do not forget the match in Sudan...we won 4-0...it was important away match because most super regulars were axed from the team at that time

See the earlier modified. Then ask yourself since you are well travelled. Can we present a better AFCON experience than South Africa, Morocco, Algeria, Egypt and Tunisia? If all the forementioned presented a bid to host the World Cup for example, rank their seriousness to host based on what is already on ground? Talk truth

Did martins go to 2010 world cup?the team would have had a good world cup if not for yakubu and keita
andrew444:

What did martins and co played in the 2010 World Cup apart from kalu uche ?

But frustrated Nigerians must always look for a scape goat.

Ighalo played nonsense in the World Cup,what did nacho play ? But nobody will insult nacho because he is a fan favorite

As far as I am concerned Nigerians don't know their problem

We face both problems in our league, poor organization and lack of quality.

West African has the best talents on the continent but the best talents do not stay long at all. Many do not even bother to play in the league.

You say this like these players are spoilt with choice deals abroad. Take it from me, for every 10 individuals who get deals abroad, 90 end up in the Nation wide league, NNL AND NPFL.
Those who are lucky to secure deals abroad obviously get reported, the rest who get signed up by amateur, NNL and NpFL sides do not get reported.

His only goal in the qualifier what should martins that got a brace do? Yakubu score his best goal in EPL always think he is a starboy when it come to Nigeria game

I still remember one AFCON with Berti Vogtz as our coach where Aiyegbeni kept on missing goals and Martins was pleading for a chance. I think one was against Benin Republic. I think at last Yakubu scored and erased the memory of his misses.

Good striker but definitely was not as lethal for us as the media tries to portray him. I believe Martins would have done better if he got the run Yakubu had.

Most of the players who go abroad do not even get reported as they go to less fancied places.

The best players often get the chance to go on trial abroad even before they join the league. Some never pursue football professionally. Unfortunately, those that go abroad sometimes end up with slave contracts and disappear. I have heard stories of Nigerians who went abroad to play football but ended up doing menial jobs in Europe to get by.

As in... Sitter after sitter. Match after match but gets the nod the next game or plays 90mins despite performing poorly.

Then they tell us he gets the nod because of his experience.

I am like....

No striker who gets that kind of unfair run will not have the chance to score goals to save his face. That was not in any way a sign of efficiency.
