True. But he delivered solid performances from LB this past season for Arsenal and bagging the most assists (or if not most, definitely a good number of assists) for an "English-eligible" LB from that position so England not even giving him a shout for that position says something. And they didn't even consider Chillwell. That's worse. Anyway, it's their problem, not ours.

My only concern was to confirm Saka's absence from the list.

Yea, their problem.

Your worst fear, this time was unconfirmed. grin grin

Ings is better than Tammy from day one

If I am the English coach ings will be my first Choice ahead of Kane

Injury really dealt with that guy.

He's a quality striker.

Jack Grealish last season

184 shot-creating actions [1st]

167 fouls suffered [1st]

91 chances created [1st]

79 passes into the box [2nd]

73 successful take-ons [3rd]

6 assists [4th]

But not good enough

Grealish liked this tweet for a brief moment before removing it

In the manner of certain monikers on this thread, this inexplicable selection must be because of "egunje" or nepotism. Oh wait, it's not Nigeria, so the coach must have his reasons.....

It's surprising honestly
Southgate surely knows that Nigeria is hot on Saka's trail and one would have expected him to cap saka even if it was for a 3min cap like Tomori

I will like to believe Saka had a hand in his absence from the list

Even if we decide to hand Saka a call up, he would still need a switch..
There's still time for England to hand him a call up in October...
A lot could happen before October..

Lol..

African coaches are always accused of selecting players based on favoritism, tribalism and corruption..
But even European coaches have their own flaws when it comes to things like this

Etebo had an outstanding world cup undoubtedly.

However, he has not been outstanding in the Championship but far from it. That means he will not be generating too much interest.

That's the harsh reality of football.

Was the Championship the only place he has played?

Hopefully, this edges Saka closer to the Super Eagles.

England just pack Right full backs inside team. Walker, Arnold and trippier. Saka wants to play as a winger and judging from this squad, he won't displace anybody there.Ings, Kane,Greenwood, Foden ,Rashford All the best for Tammy
BTW , where is Tomori.

Tomori's dream was to get a cap or 2 with the lions, his dream has been fulfilled; he's cruising.

He's not a left-back, he's just a makeshift. If I'm to rate him based on his performance so far at that position, it's be below average. I'm guessing that's the reason why he has failed to make the list.
Chilwell is injured na, Chilwell go make list if he dey na

Bukola Saka’s parents ask for time as NFF finally contacts player

Super Eagles Head Coach Gernot Rohr has contacted Arsenal’s rave of the moment Bukayo Saka to play for Nigeria.

The Eagles’ Chief Scout cum Rohr’s Personal Assistant Tunde Adelakun revealed this to newsmen from his base in England.

“The boy (Bukayo Saka) wants to concentrate on his club career. He is still very young and his parents and advisers believe it is too premature for him to be faced with major decisions on International football. He is only 18 years old.

“We have reached him. I have made the approach and that is what I have been told. We cannot exert pressure on a young 18-year-old to decide on such major issues unless it comes from him”, Adelakun explained to newsmen from his base in England yesterday.

There has been rave reviews about the performance of the 18-year-old who surprised Arsenal fans with his sublime football skills, composure and absolute confidence during the just-concluded season.

This sparked a huge debate regarding his international future at the senior level since he is eligible to play for his adopted country England and his fatherland Nigeria since his parents are Nigerians.

Saka was quoted by Sky Sports last month, “It’s a tough choice. I’m happy to have represented England at the youth level but I’m also proud of my Nigerian heritage from my parents.

"We haven’t been picked by any team so it’s about staying humble and when the time comes we’ll make the decision”, Saka told Sky Sport in an interview in July this year.

There's no point in making an issue out of it, both Saka and Grealish are two players we expected to see in Southgate's squad even though we only care about saka we know that both players had a good season.
