Churkie: If you truly have been working as regional project manager, then your 2nd course is apposite for your application. But be careful as there is a burden of proof on you to explain certain things in a comprehensive SOP (along with the tidbits Haqs proffered). Things like 1. Have you worked long enough in said company to be entitled to a study leave? 2. What will said company gain from your PGC that they weren't already gaining (since you were already managing projects in a region for 4 years now) ? 3. How will said company cope in your absence? I think answers to these posers may help cover the aspects of home ties and may clear any doubts in the VOs mind that you are a genuine candidate. 3 Likes |

EmmySaints:Looking at it,you have a wife and to be sincere 7m is more than enough for you to pursue the course, but seriously you need to show how your wife be fine back home,if she is working you need to show that she can fend for herself. since you are sponsoring urself swear an affidavit, and everybody here should know that you wont be there when ur application will be reviewed,so docs submitted is what represent you in front of the VO,so lay ur hands on every docs connected to ur application, your course is fine with your academic background. 1 Like |

Refusals Refusals do not stem from having two intents. They stem from having a single bona fide intent (i.e., to become a permanent resident) and misrepresenting the second intent (i.e., to become a temporary resident) in order to achieve the first intent. For example: an applicant for a study permit who indicates that they have no intention of leaving Canada has demonstrated only a single intent – permanent residence. This application would be refused, even if the applicant might qualify for the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) or the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP). This is because the applicant has shown that they do not respect the terms and conditions of temporary residence, should they not qualify for a Permanent Resident streamOfficers are reminded to use their own judgment and the flexibility afforded to them by A22(2) when making decisions in cases with a dual intent aspect. CAIPS/FOSS/GCMS notes should clearly demonstrate the officer’s reasoning when assessing a case. 4 Likes |

lacord5: I am faced with your situation too. Eventually I had to go for a PGC in human resources management. I want to go for my LLM at u of Ottawa fall 2017. So instead of waiting I had to go for a one year graduate certificate program. P.s am a lawyer too. |
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 10 by yemdogg: 4:01pm On May 11, 2016 |
bjmme: Nope u don't need to have a master first before going for any of the pace program. Just your degree. But it's quite expensive. |

Hello All, Please what is the maximum time lag between the last date on a printed SOA and when the application is actually submitted ? |
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 10 by thesoj: 5:57pm On May 11, 2016 |
@Churkie, sorry about the delay. In your application that was refused, did you include an SOP explaining why you were switching from polymer to petroleum engineering? Did you explain why you were going for a Diploma instead of a PGD or MSc? Also, keep in mind that a study leave letter (& future employment letter) is sort of useless if your employer's business line is completely unrelated to your program of study in Canada. 2 Likes |
