Bayelsa that is not even as big as Yaba local govt area is supposed to be the most developed state in Nigeria given its size, small population and oil derivation they collect.

If jonathan has taken money illegally from CBN and use it to develop bayelsa to be like dubai, Nigerians would have pardoned him. But he was a vice president, acting president and president, yet his people don't have drinking water and passable road.

And he's busy telling the world that part of his achievement was that he meet dangote as the rishest man in Nigeria and when he got into power, dangote became the rishest man in Africa. Is that an aChievememt?

I was expecting him to list his major achievement as uprgrading his state to a world class city like dubai and china.

Even an helipad, he didn't build in his town, meanwhile, the man they call "dullard" has built an helipad in daura in his first 3 months in office.

Jonathan is a shame.

Nonsense!

Sharap!!! Why would you say Bayelsa is not as big as Yaba. For your information bayelsa is twice as big as lagos. Go get your facts right.

[size=18pt]Jonathan forgot his own people in Bayelsa state and went on to plan for abuja centenary celebration. Politician like secretary to the federal government, ayim pius ayim, former senate president talk him on to this illicit project just to eat money.

when the chips are down it is now reality time. He never thought of any major developement in his own area apart from the federal university which he establish in his own community of Otuoke in Bayelsa state. He was thinking of a second tenure until power slip away from his hand.

Jonathan was a fool.

But what do you expect from a man who was given power on a platter of gold. He was never expecting power, Obasanjo saw qualified people like Donald Duke of Cross River state, Adams Oshiomole of Edo state, etc he dished all this people only to give power to a nonentity called Ebele Jonathan Goodluck who was just a mere deputy governor.

Of course, you should expect the worse.

Our politicians need to take mentorship lessons from Roman Abramovich. When Roman Abramovich became governor of Chuktoka in Russia, he turned the fortune of that city around using his own personal funds. After his first term in office, his people begged him to go for second term but he refused and stepped down..................The rich in Nigeria have a lot to learn from this man. undecided undecided undecided undecided undecided

Nigerian leaders and politicians should invest in the youths and not be too selfish and greedy because that's their only problem.

They should give them key positions in politics as they are the leaders of tomorrow

All the 13% derivation, federal allocation etc. that Bayelsa earned since 1999 was totally mismanaged and looted. If it was well managed Bayelsa with her small population will be competing with the likes of Dubai, Kuwait etc.

Why am I not surprised? GEJ was just an accidental president. He lack the mental capacity to lead and hence, his Government was a colossal failure.

So a news reporter that works for an APC chieftain woke up this morning and decided to travel from Lagos to bayelsa to tell us that there economy has collapsed he did not see it fit to pass through oyo, osun, Edo etc. He did not see it fit to do a report on the Lagos economy and tell us if the Nigerian economy is doing better or worse than before?

Journalist are a serious problem to the Nigerian project their bias, junk journalism, lack of patriotism through obvious bias that they comes from political affiliation.

Today that we still have long queues of fuel going on for 3 months a writer decides to travel 5000 miles from his home to an opposition state to what end? Divert peoples tots from the pressing issues on ground?

This is awful, shameful, diversionary and very disgusting!

The truth is definitely bitter. I commensurate with you.

Aside my earlier point, its actually good the ijaws lost the centre so that they will realize wat it means to rally round their very own even if he's"the ineffectual buffoon" like some very foolish Nigerians put it. You don't kill or throw away a bad child, u rally round him, support him and encourage him to be a better child. The Northerners and southwesterners are better in that e.g obj and tinubu, obj and gbenga Daniel.

some comments here are purely annoying. must everything be about apc this, pdp that?? here is a scenario painted by eye witness telling how deplorable things are in bayelsa and some people are already seeing it as an apc/pdp thing!! I am not bayelsan but I am pained and ashamed that a state who earns so much from monthly allocations is owing workers for 5months!!!! by now one would expect bayelsa to be a haven of some sort considering the advantage of having had GEJ in the seat of power for so long. only God knows when our youths will start to see things from a normal perspective. hold your leaders accountable while casting aside sentiments based on party affiliation, tribe and religion!!

I think anyone that has a bit of common sense would reflect on this.

May 1999 - December 2005 - Jonathan was Deputy Governor of Bayelsa state

December 2005 - May 2007 - Jonathan was Governor of Bayelsa state

May 2007 - May 2010 - Jonathan was Vice President of Nigeria

May 2010 - May 2015 - Jonathan was President of Nigeria

According to Wikipedia

Bayelsa State has one of the largest crude oil and natural gas deposits in Nigeria. As a result, petroleum production is extensive in the state. However, the majority of Bayelsans live in poverty. They are mainly rural dwellers due to its peculiar terrain and lack of adequate transportation, health, education or other infrastructure as a result of decades of neglect by the central governments, state governments, and petroleum prospecting companies. This has been a large problem in the state since its creation and successive state governments have not been able to address and repair the issue. The state, as a result, has an almost non-existent commerce.

Jonathan was given a decade and 4 extra years - Global oil prices were up - but the poverty of his own people seemed to worsen. To whom much is given, much is said to be expected. Much was expected of Jonathan - and he delivered nothing! Zero! Zilch! Nada!

I am convinced that Nigerians made the right decision to boot him out of office in 2015. If he couldn't change the life of Bayelsans, why could he be of any good to Nigerians as a whole?

The meddlesome albino twitter claptrap is more interested in what is happening in far away Osun than what goes on in his bedroom.

The problem with Bayelsa is that there are just too many political godfathers interested in the scarce resources of the state. When you are done "settling'' these men, there is hardly anything left to execute any tangible developmental project.

Such an unfortunate scenario.
I was looking for this. Ben Bruce Murray always mocking my state, but since the calamities befalling Bayelsa state, his state started, he has gone mute. I remember when he said he was donating to Osun people so that we wouldn't be starved, now he has project of his own.

See what I said about brains obviously not being in people's head. Will you blame misplaced priorities and inability to pay salaries on government part as wholistic economic woe of the state.

To lambast your point, have you heard about the city called Ordos.
Bayelsans predominantly are civil servants. You can barely count up to 10 private organizations in that state. So just because the government owes salary means their economy is bad. Bayelsa never attracts investors in anyway. It still doesn't spell bad economy.

One slowpoke just commented that Yaba in Lagos is bigger than bayelsa. What a lie from the pit of hell. Please you all need to be informed, Bayelsa is over two times bigger than lagos state as a whole. Go get your facts right!

Why are APC supporters so hateful and deceitful. They are after bayelsa now.

A similar situation happened in Enugu, the moment the government declared Enugu airport free to fly to China, USA etc, the lagos APC supporters rushed to the media and start writing thrash claiming the Enugu runway is bad. The airport I just landed yesterday that is in a perfect condition.

For the same reason the LAGOS APC political touts did every possible and boost Jonathan out for the single reason that he said he will build seaport for the igbos in onitsha. They beleive this will draw importers to onitsha against lagos.

Jonathan tried a lot in bayelsa, South south, southeast, South West, and most especially the north. A man of equity.

Thanks
Hahahaa Jonathan promise to build a sea port? what of the second Niger bridge he promised you? pls BRO stop fooling yourself
