You manually updated the OS right? or you changed region first to get OTA update?

Which pls?

My region has been set to India for long. I updated via OTA.
Nevertheless, I think the update I received is just like "demo" 'cause the size is just like 302mb and that's the first update to MIUI10. I feel it should be nothing less than 1.5gb.

You directed me to the net to check for top benchmarked device , and I am sending you back to same place to get an answer to the bolded question .

A clue tho: read through tech advisor website wink
I asked for your own definition bros, not the net, I just want to know your own understanding so that I can understand your point of view better. Personally I judge a product from my experience of it. All these tech reviewers have their own level of bias.

Ok now ! For those hating on my humble sef simply coz I called Xiaomi mid-range brand . Let's put this our sentiments aside, would you call it Premium ? Ogini, kilode ? Talk true for just once in your life time Biko. I am on this page simply coz I wanna change my device as I usually does yearly, but when I kept reading Gcam up and down , shey na crime to ask why ? sad I am a tech specialist, but I strictly frown against tweaking device, imo: that's the only way I get to know a device is cool , yes indulge me to use the word Premium! My current device is still in Mint state , with this customer bruhaha and Gcam and bla bla I dey read . I had to conclude that I am holding on for now.

That's my Opinion!

Leave tech advisor out of this as we know they aren't the only tech site and their opinions can't be taken as gospel, what's your definition of premium without looking through the glasses of tech advisor?

Personally i won't call Xiaomi premium brand, likewise i won't call lg, or Motorola, or even Nokia, but we all know these guys offer high end just like the galaxies or iPhones. Case in point, the lambo edition of oppo na everything premium.... More premium that xs max and thats just d way it is... To me sha, i won't call Xiaomi premium brand doesn't mean they don't have premium products o...
As for gcam ppl, na ppl wey wan boost their midrange camera to get close to flagship level, those in flagship level no dey obsessed with gcam wahala...
Me i dey redmi 5 sef, i never see gcam for my life sef... cool

You are not calling Xiaomi premium because they failed to give you ridiculous pricing for their devices but Samsung is premium when you get;
SD425
1GB/8GB
720 X 480 p
No fingerprint etc for 80k

I just asked for your understanding, I wasn't trying to mock you in anyway, if you notice here people give their own personal opinion and not just hang on to what one reviewer say and it is usually based on their personal experience.
You can as well compare the most expensive Xiaomi devices with the most expensive "premium brands"

Lol... Just go ahead with your choice. Judging by your standards it seems you are new to mobile development. Just visit s9+ development page on xda and see people doing these tweakings, flashing roms and gcam and all.

From ur assertions the only device that can satisfy you is iPhone coz even guyz are still flashing and modding the Galaxy Note 9.

Techies are insatiable. I used to be one when i was using a Samsung galaxy phone. But getting the RN6 pro i discovered that..
1. I can hardly spot much difference in display. This is sharp enough for me.

2. I don't need viper4android for good music coz the default equalizer is over good.

3. I don't need modding for fastness coz this device is damn fast.

4. I dont need mod for cam coz d camera is simply crazy.. Even night shots..

5. I don't need mod for changing U.I coz theming on MIUI is madly flawless and its just too fluid.

6. Battery Life is great and phone doesn't get hot even on heavy usage.

I use a modded iOS 12 theme not coz i want to feel like lol.. Even Iphone 6s feels like shit near this mobile. I use it coz of its simplicity same way i use cheetah keyboard instead of Gboard...

For the first time i am using a phone and i am almost 100% satisfied with stock things. Honestly, considering price, functionality and battery life, Xiaomi over Samsung and Iphones.. Save for galaxy note 9, atleast that one has 4kmah ba3.

The one wey weak me na tech advisor. Even almighty gsm arena most times gives inaccurate information on devices.

My own personal opinion is that we should buy a phone that meet our needs, whether iPhone, Samsung , xiaomi, Huawei etc as long as you're satisfied with it and it wouldn't end up making you sell your kidney to buy or fix .
As for me performance matters o, then battery, fluidity. Camera is the least of my worries

Had a similar experience with redmi note 3 after updating to miui 10 beta a few months ago.
Tried many things like flashing radio files, reverting back to previous rom versions, using imei writer even flashing Android pie stock rom.. All to no avail.
I Just dumped the phone for my daughter to be playing games and watching cartoons. It served me well for 3 years, I think.

Someone else had a similar issue on this thread, not sure if or how he resolved it.

I'm sorry, it's those rare kind of issues that one method could work for some or not work at all for others.

Just hope you will be among the lucky ones.
Thanks am hoping for an update to miui 10 and I hope it will fix it.
