Well, you'll have to do some digging, though don't expect battery life to improve, miui is one of the best roms to stick to if you are after battery life.
Meanwhile, if you must run a custom rom, you'll need to unlock bootloader first.

Another option is to install the popular Go Launcher EX App. Then once this is installed, download their GoLauncher Fonts App.

The other option is to root your phone. You should have known limitations of stock android before delving in.

generally WhatsApp deteriorates video and photo quality alot
Not just redmi note 8 pro but any phone, so I don't think you should expect stock photo and video quality from WhatsApp, just do it in a lit environment

Lockdown get lifted just about 5 days after the launch.... Plus sales doesn't usually start immediately after launch, it's usually like a Week after Launch.... So definitely Lockdown would have been lifted before sales starts
