That is because no RN9s user have gotten MIUI 12, there is none for that device at the moment.

I moved from a global version redmi 8a to another one which is china version with global rom. Was sacred of updating my device cos I wasn't too sure if it would brick the device but followed the advice and updated it.

I got no issues after update to miui 11.

I Don dey get confidence to update my device. Steadily I'll be moving to miui 12.

Omo, GoTV Decoders have HDMI since 2017.

No RN9s and RN9 Pro user has gotten MiUI 12. Not sure where you saw someone running MiUI 12 running on those devices.

How to manually update..

Go to Settings > About phone > System update.

If tapping the 3-dot button shows the “Choose update package” option, click on that and choose the downloaded ROM from your internal storage or SD card. In case you don’t find the “Choose update package” option from the 3-dot menu, tap on the MIUI 11 logo inside the “System update” page several times. A prompt will then show that additional updater settings are now available. Now you can tap on Choose update package and select the MIUI 10 update file

That’s it. The system will start decrypting the file and install it automatically for you. Wait for it to finish the process, which may take 10-30 mins

Data should be on during the decryption process

Read that instructions very well, no one asked you to Extract anything. How to enable choose update package is in the instructions. Settle down read it line by line and digest and follow accordingly.

1. Hard restart not Hard reset. It is not compulsory but advisable.

2. All can be done from the theme app, there are some themes you can only get in India region, fonts too India region. Since you are just starting, set a theme of choice first then choose a font when you are done change your region back to Nigeria. Region can be changed in additional settings.

3. It is not compulsory but it is highly advised. For security reasons(especially in the case of theft)

Recent GoTV decoders now comes with HDMI, but I still think the max video output is around 540/720p sha.

Here we go. MIUI 12 for Xiaomi Mi Note 10 Lite with August Security Patch.
