Pretending you're alright when it's so obvious things are falling apart kills faster than shouting it out for the world to hear.A journey of a thousand miles begins with a step.
Nigeria is a rotten and polluted country that has no remedy,so breaking up is the only solution to our problems.

I get it.Nigeria is rotten but why disturb other countries? They have their own problems.

Things are worst now but definitely not good during gej tenure. Algeria was able to save $150b when crude oil price was high, how much did gej save? If gej had saved half of what Algeria saved am sure wouldn't have been suffering like this. One other problem with gej was that he allowed too much looting during his tenure, these looted funds are part of the problem we are having now.

did you hear about the sovereign wealth fund that NOI planned to implement, that Amechi and the rest of ur cohort fought to a stand still

This is not how to achieve succession. Put your house together, by making your leaders accountable. Your Ibo leaders are selfish, they don't think of the common man. They only want power for themselves and their family to enjoy.

Look at the rate of kidnapping in the east, look at the state of your roads, and you have some iddiots representing you in Aso rock and National Assembly. Are these not the same people who will rule you after succession?

succession??...God abeg...its "secession" plz

Removing subsidy when econ was good & forex was surplus was refused only 2 face it now when econ is bad n forex gone. Fantastically stupid.

68% fuel price hike + 45% electricty tariff hike + 100% VAT increase + 9% airtime tax + 100% Naira depreciation. Dinner is served Nigerians

Since Buhari took over there's no product or service in Nig that d price has remained the same; everything is up and you say ure for d poor

Crude prices are still dropping yet the APC announce an over 50% increase in d price of PMS? So what were Fashola & the rest saying last yr?

Fuel will sell for N40 they said, well they didn't tell us there was a hidden figure before the 40! Nigerians welcome to change @akaebube

'If anyone tells you that fuel subsidy exists, that person is a fraud'~ GMB, 2012.

It took him 11months to learn

Every passing day we find out that #OccupyNigeria was political and not economical. How else do you explain the silence?

I still see pictures of Tunde Bakare jumping  at Abiola Garden chanting "GEJ must go!" in #OccupyNigeria
Still fresh in my memory

20 litres in ur car & 10 litres for Gen at 145 Naira for 30 days is N130,500. Nepa bill, food and miscellaneous excluded. Let that sink in

Buhari simply increased petrol price, you don't remove subsidy and still fix the price...don't let "them" fool you...this is CRIMINAL!!

Since it's now N145 a litre , food prices and everything naturally going to go up...

Apart from ur salary .

So we are back to 2012 on this fuel subsidy?

We just delayed our lives by four years.

Clap for yourselves Nigerians. You played yourself.

Everyone returning to GEJ's policies

Latest is subsidy

Either they were wrong & GEJ was right,or theyre so bad that theyre copying failure

They said Jonathan gave us 10 naira change, oya go and buy fuel for 145 naira now

I don't know where you come from as per region, but I truly wonder why the rest of the country is so obsessed with the concept of one Nigeria as it is today to the point that we can't even call for a national referendum to decide our fate as a nation. If the rest of us think less of the igbos as is very obvious from opinions here on nairaland, and strongly believe that the igbos are not United and can't fend for themselves as a nation, why don't we dare them and at least try regionalism or true federalism?

Let us stop deceiving ourselves. In Canada, Quebec has forever been agitating for sovereignty. It has been debated and defeated severally. It doesn't make Quebec the enemy. It makes the rest of Canada to sit up and address whatever their complaints are.

There is no doubt in my mind that we are better as a united Nigeria. Also, there is no doubt in my mind that the igbos have a legit right to self-determination if they so desire. Nigeria will not crumble if the SE goes, and the SE will not starve to death if they leave Nigeria. Life will simply go on.

On what basis are the Igbos clamoring for secession? Look at it historically. They have no basis and that is why no one will ever listen to them. Let us look at the example you gave, Quebec. There is historical friction and there are cultural differences that extend back for centuries in this case.

Quebec and Canada have two very separate although parallel histories. Unlike other territories which were gradually annexed and welcomed into Canada, Quebec which was formally a French colony was taken forcefully by the British with bloodshed and the result was very unfavorable for the inhabitants.

Colonizing Igboland was effortless for the British as Pre-colonial Igbo political organization was based on semi-autonomous communities, devoid of kings or governing chiefs except towns such as Onitsha, which had Obis, and Nri and Arochukwu, which had priest kings known as Ezes. Most Igbo village governments were ruled solely by an assembly of the common people.

The Igbos proved remarkably decisive and enthusiastic in their embrace of British rule and Christianity. They never resisted British rule as they lacked a proper political structure(till date) and were eager to be part of the Southern Protectorate of Nigeria. Unlike the resistance of the Benin Empire or the communities of Niger Delta who had powerful chiefs, a stratified society and resisted the British vehemently. These are the ones with genuine reasons not the Igbo.
