SavvyLanre:

Guys - i am currently doing a research. Please from your perspective, recommend brokers good for CiCo.

Meanwhile, i have asked and would ask again - Does anyone know the right CSCS No. to fill on the form to get your shares directly to CSCS following a PO. (Alphanumeric or Numeric?)

Alphanumeric.

Godness me

I've caught up eventually. Went 2 Nigeria last week came back on monday, the more i tried to catch up the more the thread kept growing. my missus have even banned me from the laptop at home so I was resticted to catching up only at work.

Anyway, I got tired of boutique brokerage houses, opened an account with a not so 'boutique' broker (hussler broker if you like), dropped a couple of duty free after shaves  & EDT and man it is working wonders. I am just about to test him with OandO.

Wendy - you 2 much. You know why I am saying this.

Any one know how I can lay my hands on Pricelist going back to 1987.  I managed to fish out a few certs bought by my old boy for me at about this time. I need to add them to my s/sheet

Even if pumping no vex, me I go vex  grin grin grin Them don answer you plenti times on this question na. It's the alphanumeric one and that's the one that will be used to credit your cscs account. I filled it out on my oceanic PO application and got my cscs credited directly.

SavvyLanre:

I used this for my Diamond bank GDR and it has been credited to CSCS.

In a post earlier I explained the relationship between these numbers as explained in a CSCS email.

The alphanumeric number identifies your account (this should be unique) with CSCS. The numeric one is issued by your broker and is your account number with them. Ordinarily you can have multiple brokers linked to your alphanumeric CSCS number. If you have access to your CSCS account this will be clearer to you.

So to credit your account, there is need to know

1. First and foremost your alphanumeric CSCS number.
2. The broker that should have access to trade the stocks. That is why you are also asked for the name of the broker. With this, when you login to the CSCS account and navigate to your account with that broker you will find the stocks listed there.

The only question is this. What if you have multiple accounts with the same broker? In this case, I will advice that after filling in the name of your broker, include in brackets the specific account number you want the stocks deposited. This is the numeric number.

well, i used the aplhanumeric on my dangote flour application and it has been credited to my CSCS acct. i used the alphanumeric on my oceanic bank application and i got a certificate.

there is a clarification on which is CHN number and which is CSCS Acct no on one of the CSCS' website. the CHN number is the alphanumeric while the CSCS Acct no is the numeric. an investor shld ideally have only one CHN number

collected mine from my broker last week and sent it for verification sharpish.

for those that thouhgt I was stupid when I asked how to claim the returned money for all the names (son & daughter) from DangFlour. It was a piece of poo. My broker claimed them for me and credited my A/C one hand. I didnt have to muck about with the banks.
Re: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by SavvyLanre: 5:02pm On Feb 28, 2008
Pumping & Windywendy - as i said no vex, ignorance is a disease, you can't imagine the pain those stupid numbers and confusion around the name used for them have caused me,
CSCS and CHN - at least it was clearer on the skye form.

Thanks once again.

For those with access to CSCS account online.

Can anyone confirm what the tool "Transaction Listing" does? I assume it allows me to list previous transactions but however I search I never get any results. Has anyone used this functionality successfully?

Sorry, I don't know what you need to do. I can only hazard a guess that you should contact the registrar preferably before the certificates are issued with proof of your purchase to rectify this.

Excuse the deviation, question for y'll,  is there a daily withdrawal limit from Nigerian ATM's? Hitting Lagos on Saturady for a couple of days visit and will be trying out my Zenith card at the nearest ATM,  make I no come go hook  shocked . Don't particulary like dealing with those malams at the airport   lipsrsealed

@RoughCut

BTW:

Anybody who needs to get in touch with Oceanic registrars you can ring them on 01-815 2470 or 01-813 8623. Try the second number first.

Not getting through to any of these numbers,  I'll let them know what I think when I drop in Monday.

Considering opening a second stock broking account,  going for Vetiva. Need a second broker as a counter balance to the impersonal service provided by IBTC.

How can I change the address on my CSCS account? I have searched for forms but can't find any and my broker is not helpful as well.

You need to write a letter to CSCS for a change of Address, give it to your broker who will forward the letter to CSCS, you might be asked to pay N1000.
