The Bakassi militant group condemned the incessant bombings of oil pipelines in the oil rich Niger Delta region by the Avengers, Channels TV reports. Speaking at Esuk Mba, in Akpabuyo local government area of Cross River state, Simple Benjamin, the leader of the group, advised the government to adopt the approach of the American Ambassador to Nigeria who is an advocate for dialogue as war alone cannot solve their problems in tackling the issue.

He explained that there was no struggle without a reason, and the Avengers had their reasons for attacking oil facilities in the region. Mba however, said they were not in support of the militants activities, asking them to stop the attacks as it was no the solution to their grievances.

“It is cheaper to make peace as war leads to more destruction. Fellow compatriots of the Niger Delta Avengers Please sheathe your sword and give peace a chance. I think you have made your point, hence you should give government chance to respond. Enough of the bombings, please. I call on the sponsors of the Niger Delta Avengers to have a rethink of their actions. I also appeal to security agencies to thread softly as two wrongs don’t make a right,” he said. The leader of the Bakassi militant group noted that the attacks had a retrogressive effect on Nigeria’s economy. There has been continued tension in the Niger Delta region following a resurgence of militancy in the area.

Very funny. No true Niger Delta Militant group will ever do this. If they are for peace, why are they militants in the first place? grin

You people don't know anything. They are working in tandem with the Avengers. They have given a tall order to the FG, that they know will not be fulfilled. After FG's failure to fulfil this task, they will declare war on Nigeria. Their primary mission is to deal ruthlessly with that traitor and thief called Ben Ayade. Also that collaborator known as Donald Duke won't be spared.

Not only that, just look at the whole article. His first name is "simple", yeah sure. Then he gave a strong message right? I didn't see any strong message, more like the typical culture of begging found from the southwest.

Then his own so-called group has the name MILITANT in it, yet he is there saying he wants peace for another group?

This is the official statement from the Bakassi Strike force.
Militant group known as Bakassi Strike Force hascalled on the Federal Government to reclaim the ceded Bakassi Peninsular from Cameroon or it would be forced to take up arms. The group in a boat-display, brandishing all kindsof weapons on Friday at Esighi axis of Bakassi, inAkpabuyo Local Government Area of Cross River State lamented the neglect of Bakassi people by the Federal Government and other local and international stakeholders.Speaking during the display, leader of the group, General Simple also known as Humble Lion said the people of Cross River and Akwa Ibom states have been sidelined by the Federal Government in the amnesty programme.According to Simple, “The Bakassi Strike Force isan indigenous group made up of youths from Akwa Ibom and Cross River states, totalling 642 foot soldiers.“You will agree with me that Akwa Ibom and Cross River states are part of the Niger Delta region, yet we have been completely sidelined from the amnesty scheme and other empowerment programmes for the youth of the area.“Yet it will interest you to note that it is in Obubra,Cross River State that the team of Niger Delta militants was hosted, when states such as Bayelsa, Delta, Rivers, Edo and Ondo refused to host the rehabilitation camp for the militants. The group accused the Federal Government of ceding the oil rich Bakassi to Cameroon, stressing that the indigenes and habitants were not consulted before the area was ceded.

Please they should not stop the bombing ooo.

More power to their bombings.

More companies will relocate to SW, more jobs for our people, more migration to our region, more tax revenue for our region and more development.

Haters can only hate, they can never have the native intelligence and foresight.

The pipeline surveillance contract given the militants by the Ineffectual Ogogoro Ugandan Buffoon was meant to create nothing but a clear pass for arms build-up in the Niger Delta.

Now, with his shameful defeat, he's initiated his plan B which is to destroy whatever is left of Nigeria as long as he's not the one in Aso Rock.
