I had predicted the fall of petroleum pump price at the commencement of this deregulation but some pocket economists on Nairaland thought otherwise. I have friends who own filling station who had hitherto hoarded fuel thinking that I hey will hit it big.: now they are not finding it funny because of low patronage 5 Likes |

I wonder o. Let the government increase the price of petrol by the same meagre #6 and see whether this same sets of people won't be the first to hang them. We are talking about the law of demands here. Human wants is insatiable and no matter how much a marketer is making, he/she will always want to make more and build a heaven on earth. They understand the effect of a little price change on their revenue. When most customers refuse to patronise other marketers, it will force them to reduce price also. And this might continue like that until it became almost impossible to reduce price further without incurring a loss. This is what happened in the telecom industry when Etisalat came onboard. We pray for more reductions like this. MVLOX: 4 Likes |

One of the reasons subsidy payment was high was due to petroleum products illegally transported out of the country for higher gains by some greedy fellows. Another was cooking the books to claim money for products which were never imported. Hence, the removal of subsidy is a bitter pill that will later have visible benefits on the health of Nigeria. 2 Likes |

He is still making close to 35 naira as profit on every litre of pms sold and his rate of turnover will increase cos more people will patronize him It's more of a business decision than giving back to customers 2 Likes |
