I can't really decipher the rationale for youths to play deaf ears to what these politicians are doing to us all. These youths will still foolishly come to Nairaland to defend these blood sucking politicians like they have been hypnotized. Is your future cheaper than a bag of rice or some token?

Crazy things are rather celebrated in Nigeria.

@Op. Until we all unite to destroy these politicians, Nigeria will still remain the way it is or even worse.

Me self don dey try nuture other talents, I don dey discover say I get small ability to control my dream, like say na script me dey write and act am at the same time.
Anytime hunger too wire me, I wash my plate and spoon, keep am under my pillow and sleep off. When I land for dream, food go show!

Nigeria is a failed state. It's not a country, just a piece of land various tribes try to survive on.
Bros the same frustration everywhere I tell you. No be say I dey curse this country but in the next 50 years things will still be the same unless we embark on a systematic revolution. From individual mindsets to all sectors of power.
I gave up on this nation way back in secondary school sef.
To be POOR is a SIN in Nigeria. Even the clergy mostly preach on worldly salvation instead of Gods word. We're not asking for much, we don't even want to be super rich. Just basic amenities will do for a start.
They say youths should do masquerade and farming. Biko, where the capital to buy farmland? Fertilizer? Tools? Too much theory in this Bombaclat Nation.
OP I sign out. I'm packing my bags to trek to Antartica.

Hmmmm, I can see the youths voicing out their anger. What u don't know is that the situation you are complaining about someone is praying to be there. At least u still HV Money to buy mb comment for nairaland. No matter ur situation or victim of what u have become a hero lies in you. U can't just sit ur lazy ass down and comment on nairaland about ur plight. The difference between u and those in power is their ability to think outside the box and do something for their selves.
Whenever situations like this arise a hero is needed. U can lead a protest, write about the situation. There are so many ways u can be a revolutionary. And make a name for yourself. Am advising u to do something about your current situation and help others around u too. Finally am ready to help any two youths with 5k cash each the money will be deposited in ur accounts next week so that I can assist too.

pls stop saying this @ bolded. There are so many Nigerians willing to do things differently. If 80 percent of politicians do not see government as a means of livelihood, Nigeria won't be where it is.

Yes they are willing to do things differently but willing to do something involves knowing how to do it. Nigerians just don't know. Here's a scenario that sums up the Nigerian condition.

A danfo driver is stopped by the police at a checkpoint demanding for 20 naira bribe. The driver refuses to the ire of the bus occupants. The occupants of the bus starts urging the driver to "settle am abeg make we go". Abi I lie? Does that sound like a people who want to do things differently?

De no.1 problem weh we get for dis country bi say Nigeria no bi one country. Nigeria na 4 to 6 countries forcing itself to bi one. And e no fit deh possible!.

100 years from now we go still get all dis problem for Naija. Nothing go change, until de country rewind back to it's pre-1914 Lord Lugard creation as it should naturally be or at least practise real federalism weh every region; south, east, west, north go deh manage themselves and them resources. We are fighting nature here!. You can't fight nature and win!!

The so called leaders know it, that's why everybody deh fight to get a chance to become politician so him go cut him share from the proverbial national cake.

Sometime ago, I made this little song to warn Nigerians of politicians. This kain song no fit go to Nairaland front page, because we the youths ourselves have no idea what to do to fight the system.

No Nigerian politician is worth trusting!.

Don't waste your time trusting APC or PDP. They're one and the same people!!.

Trust any Nigerian politician at your own peril.

Listen to ''Na Dem Dem''.

On the contrary, things are hard. The country is tough. Immigration laws are even becoming stricter. Would have loved to leave this country. The cost of travelling is even gold now.

I am fearful for the future of my kids but hopeful and believing that it will be fine at last. It will be better and we shall all laugh last.

WHY CAN'T WE RECALL THOSE WE VOTED TO POWER BECAUSE IF WE MAKE THAT MOVE (I mean if the electorates in Oyo south should clamor for Adesoji Rasaq Akanbi to be recalled from the National Assembly or the Honourable representing Ido State Constituency in Oyo State), won't things become better
Just asking angry
whirlwind7:

I understand where you are coming from, bro.

Do you know why till this day, a nationwide revolution has not begun? It is simply because Nigeria is not a united country. We are not one, and we have never been one. I don't see it happening, EVER.
Once a section of the country feels they are being shortchanged, all the government needs to do is appoint someone from that region into a certain position, and what happens next is, the people will say, "well, one of us has been appointed. Let's wait and see how things go. Maybe the government has remembered us afterall"
This happens consistently. It all boils down to tribalism along with it's varying interests. Now that we feel that the FG is appointing mostly Northerners, majority of the south complains. Once a prominent position is given to, say, someone from the SS, that region keeps quiet a bit. AS IF SUCH AN APPOINTMENT EVEN MEANS ANYTHING TO THE COMMON MAN IN THAT REGION!

It's not totally an issue of cowardice. No Igbo man will rise up in protest over a Yoruba village that gets ransacked by Fulani herdsmen. No Yoruba politician will lose sleep if Boko Haram suddenly wipes off an entire LGA in Damaturu. No Hausa man will lose his appetite if a sudden epidemic wipes off half the population of a rural community in the Niger Delta.

It's the same reason why, when a politician is being investigated for corruption, his kinsmen will rise up in protest, and call it witch hunting sad
It's also the reason why, every politician in power is like "I need to loot as much as I can lay my hands on right now". Knowing that it is a temporary position, without much accountability.

Bottom line, no tribe or groups of tribe is ready to lose his life over a country that most of us feel no allegiance or loyalty to. Will you, for instance, accept to lead a ragtag mob that decides to march to Aso Rock tomorrow morning? of course, you'd first ask yourself if you are the most affected from the hardship ravaging the country.
The very first factor that ensures a successful revolution is UNITY. Once everyone is unified in their political conviction and decide on achieving the same goal, then a revolution might just be looming. Go read up the history of countries that had a successful revolution. A united front was the common and overwhelming factor. As it is now, in Nigeria, it is every man for himself.
