The black portion , incase anyone is curious about it. It is made up of conical rubber based RAM ( radar absorbing material ) sheets . It works in a specific range of frequencies.

Tri service ind... Armed Forces Special Operations Division (AFSOD) analogy to US SOCOM established today.

It will have special forces of the Army, the Navy, and the IAF.

The three forces have operated together but this will be first effort to bring them under a common command and control structure, an important step in integration of the three forces. It will also reduce costs of training besides logistics and administrative costs.

Sometime ago unified Defence Cyber Agency (DCA) was established.

And in the coming days Defence Space agency (DSA) to come up at Bengaluru

all three units will function under the Integrated Defence Staff (IDS).

Interception is only the beginning of the headache grin

Long road after that and no guarantees of reaching the destination either grin

Something better than nothing , a humble beginning with 300 men and thankfully a SF commander has been chosen to lead it.

5-10 years before it becomes what it should become interms of capabilities and force projection.

Jaguar MAX

I am kind of at loss to understand the rationale behind the intended extensive upgrade of a platform which is no longer in production and whose spares r hard to come by.

If the upgrades r part of the Darin III upgrades then it makes sense , otherwise not.

DRDO MMSR - Multi Mode Surveillance Radar

High mobility with all systems packed onto one vehicle itself.

Range: 0-80Km, 100 Target track, high scan rate (30 rpm), high elevation angles (-15 to 75 degree)

And AFAIK Multi Mission here means WLR ( weapons locating radar ) and air defence radar capabilities in one radar package. First of its kind in the world if true.

It will replace DRDO Swathi WLR and older air defence radars in the future.

Wonder whats the status now .

Yes

The IAF ones were upgraded locally , possibly the IN one's got upgraded too.
