freemanbubble: Bad belle, who stopped you from blowing your own trumpet? Fortunate enough, I have been to each states you mentioned and I can boldly tell you that Jos cannot be compared with Edo if not because of religious crises that has taken the state backwards. Remove religious problem, anybody that has been to Jos will wish they go back there again cos the environment is just too blessed with natural tourist centres and a better climatic conditions. Nice one op 3 Likes |

gsalvatore: Though not an indigene, but I really miss that state: how I wish I can relocate to Jos again. A city with so much food crop products of very affordable prices. Very kind and hospitable citizens. Very beautiful landscape and scenery, unmatched with no other in Nigeria. A city on a hill. 1 Like |

Omonigeriarere: Even before we got to Jos itself, the scenery upon entering Plateau was indeed very beautiful. And I saw 3 big cabbages for #200!!! I couldn't believe it with a full carton of Potatoes for #1000! I'm glad I came to Jos. I just hope they are able to put a permanent stop to the killings and all cos so far it seems like a nice place to be. 4 Likes |

SpicyJosBabe: I understand your sentiment being the fact that you are probably from plateau state, the truth is Jos is the best place to live in Nigeria... considering it has the best weather, the foods and vegetables are relatively cheap and they have peaceful and tolerant indigenes... but you can't compare Jos to Ibadan in any way not even in infrastructure... Jos currently has only two functional flyover I can't even count how many are in Ibadan... You talked about slums and rusted roof and dirty serene (there is no city without slums, are you trying to say Tudun wada, Kabong, Angwa rogo, Agwan rukuba, I can name plenty more area are not infested with rusted roofs )... . . I've been to many state capitals, only Kaduna and then Kano can be said to be bigger than Jos in terms of infrastructures in the north... and even both cities have lots of slums... 3 Likes |

When ever jos or Kaduna is talked about here on Nl,i begin to see comments like 'I hope the violence there has ended' seriously people?? This comments I see here are the emanating from Nigerians?? Same Nigerians who live in Lagos pH and onitsha Is there a place in Nigeria that does not experience violence of some sort..all the kidnappings, cult rivalry, armed robbery attacks.NDA and IPOB all these doesn't contribute to violence abi?? As a Nigerian you have no right to call another region more violent than yours cause we all live in this sh:thole of a nation whether Ibadan or Benin every place has its downside..some are just relatively peaceful.. Communal violence nko?? Abeg make I just rest here! I Rep j-city tho 1 Like 1 Share |

Lived there 6 years. Haven't been back ever since. Wonderful place, beautiful people. Fond memories. There is something about the right flank of Nigeria that is so different. Taraba down to Cross-River. These places are so lovely, tranquil, the topography, the inhabitants are so un Nigerian. These are the places you want to live if not for their somewhat poorer economy. The western flank of Nigeria on the other hand stretching from Sokoto right down to Lagos is another matter. Overpopulated, rowdy, noisy and scary. 2 Likes |

Faculty14: I think every part of Nigeria has its security challenges but it all depends an individuals threshold for violence and negativity because they take all shapes and intensity. If you are a hausa muslim living in the city of Kano you will regard the place as absolutely safe ut not if you are a christian missionary or evangelist. Similarly if you were a fulani herdsman, crossing the middlebelt is fraught with grave danger and when you eventually get south you have to be picky on where you can and cannot go. If you are kind of person that forgets instantaneous pain and danger like a woman who gives birth then certainly places like Jos might appeal to you because they are generally tranquil for long periods but have these occasional explosions of violence and insecurity. Some with short memory can live with that. On the other hand places like Lagos, Ogun, Edo, Abia, etc may not have the danger of communal or religious or sectarian violence but have the elevated danger of crime which suits some but other cannot live with. It has to do with ones personality. Some fear short sharp pain while others abhor a throbbing, numbing headache. I for one cannot live in a place of constant insecurity no matter how mild that is, even if it is pickpocketing that has to keep me awake or at watch 24-7, that is why I find it difficult to stay in Lagos for instance but being a sort of risk taker I will rather live by a volcano knowing it won't erupt everyday and I might just have traveĺed out the day it actually does. I will chose Jos over most cities anyday, but like I said the lack of a virile economy on the eastern flank of Nigeria is a big let down....but hey if the economy becomes like that of Lagos, surely the hassle will be too. 1 Like |
