Bros please am about applying to this same school and course for Fall 2017 i need your guidance and information.

I only saw HRM without co-op (how did you go about yours)

The HRM co-op program is a very competitive program because of the opportunity it gives students to work in an organisation as part of their study, the HRM program doesn't give the same opportunity. However the co-op program has become optional, here is what is on the site

Co-op programs add value to your education. Earn while you apply what you learn in a real workplace environment. See the Co-op webpages for more details.
The College cannot guarantee co-op employment. All co-op students are required to conduct an independent co-op job search in addition to the supports and services provided by the Department of Co-op Education.
Students are responsible for their own transportation and associated costs in order to complete work term requirements. Work locations may not always be readily accessible by public transportation.

Also the tuition fee quoted on their site is confusing me when you say your own whole tuition fee is 7275 wheras i saw like double of this for the same course.

Sorry the figure stated is for the first semester, my total tuition fee is 14,000 CAD

Then what are the documents provided before you getting the admission and waiting time to get response.

I hope that helps

Hoping for your response bros

i am humbly sorry but if may ask,why HRM? What's your UG study and present work experience? From the research i have made,HRM is even a distinct discipline on it's own being taught in the universities in well developed countries.people tend to say it has relationship to some programs but outrightly,VOs hardly see the relationship or need for such program which often result to "purpose of visit" unless a cheerful VO would see the correlation more especially to your present work experience and the reasons in ur SOP to your career.i don't mean to heighten ur fear please but many have not succeeded with this very program.i would sincerely advise you work on other alternatives while waiting just incase.

Well I read Economics in school hence I was able to explain that there are branches of economics like labour economics and managerial economics which are core functions in HRM,

I have also worked as a recruitment consultant for the past 3 years, suffice it to say that recruitment is another core function of HRM

I would have loved to apply for an MBA but I didn't make a 2 1, I would be delighted if there is any other course you can recommend that is related to what I studied as an undergrad

And thanks for your advice

Nony 1, have you got someone to change the dollar for you? I am also interested in changing naira to dollars. Pls let me know how you eventually did that, if you have done it. Thanks. Then on ticket, let me know which airline you are going to book, I am also on it. Thanks

Hello Ajayi,
I have not seen someone to change the Naira to dollars
It's always advisable to book flight based on record and available funds.

I havent visited the site in awhile, try using a different browser. If it still persists, then I advise you use your phone to tidy things for now.

If in desperate need of USD ... jus go to federal palace hotel cos the truth is that the currency is relatively 'scarce'.... you won't realise until you need it!
For flight... mail me when you are ready. Although the advise now is to make 'after xmas' travel plans to still get the fair/cheap deals.

Hi Guys,

Please I need your advice. I recently applied for study for my wife in Conestoga College for PGD Nursing Program. I intend to pay all her fees. Is that advisable or should i just pay the initial deposit required. Also what is your take on the school. Is it a good school and and does my wife stand a good chance of getting visa with that school. She is a nurse and has her Bachelors degree and works in United Arab Emirates as a nurse. Also it is a 1 year study program. How soon can she invite her 3 year old son and myself....I am working in UAE as well and we both have good jobs. Kindly advise please

You seem to be in line with your decisions on payment of full fees (if you can afford we ease, cos its not a mandatory requirement) it could only put you in a better standing.
And your choice of Canada is excellent..... however, if your wife had a Bachelors (in nursing?) already.... why not give a shot on MSc Nursing or better still specialise in any nursing branches like.... MSc Mental nursing/healthcare? This may improve your chances on a first attempt..... taking consciousness of the knowledge that she can just pick up an improvement program to brush up and sit for canada's registered nurses conversion exams then secure a pin to practice while inside.
I think that's the regular way foreign nurses get initiated into practice when they are in a new country.

Meanwhile there are usually dedicated immigration programmes for nurses you can research and explore (most of these immigration consultants in canada have first hand info on this).
This is NOT to say that the PGD you opted for is not in good light and of course a lot of applicants use that medium and have severally been approved but this is only an ADDITION to your existing options!!

Finally your wife as the Principal Applicant can either apply with you and children in a joint application immediately..... since you're known not to be resident in your home country (just guessing) or rather you apply after she has secured her permit.
My advise is that... whatever decision you make... just make sure you apply from inside UAE!
Good luck!

Hi @Folaroyal I actually applied for post graduate enhanced critical care nursing in conestoga. I applied for PGD because she had a pass in her bachelor's degree. Also I must say i appreciate your reply. You encouraged me alot with it to go forward. I want to work in uae for a while as my job pays quite well and am in no hurry. Also my wife is preparing for nclex exams and she has cgfns and ielts. But her ielts score does not meet the requirement for immigration nurse. So we opted for school. I would like to enquire if it is possible for her to apply for study permit in UAE as I heard applicants must apply for study permit from their home country...please can you shed more light on this

Upfront medicals is you approaching a designated medical assessment clinic (approved by the embassy) to carry out required tests before it is demanded by cic. You will include the slip in your application. If on the mainland... you will go to OIM... Google address its 40k while Q-life clinic on the island is still 28k

2, how can I get security clearance by police , what are the documents involved and how much.
you should visit the force hq.... Alagbon in the case of lagos. You will need 1 or 2 passport photos and the cost ranges.... 5k up (depending on negotiation skills grin) also go with your fingers cos yu will do prints!!!

3,finally, my sponsor is not my family how can I show we are related . his name is adebayo adeakin and me am Odugbesan Azeez Adewale, how can I show evidence we are related.
An affidavit of support with birth certificates should clear that angle .... you may wish to notarise the documents.

thanks.
PLS ADDITIONAL INPUT IS WELCOME!

Beautiful i must say... the reason for your choice is well in line. One good thing is that.... the nurses and attendants.... Yes attendants!!! that we don't respect here always have their ways in foreign lands.
To be honest... i really have not checked the possibility of applying from UAE but you can check their UAE address and email a request... you should be able.
I know of UK (you can apply but not when on visiting)... for USA (you can apply even while on visiting, in as much as you were legally admitted into the country) ... i mailed the respective offices to get the above info... not hear say!

Thanks alot @folaroyal i actually plan on making enquiries at their embassy...I should think that's where I can get the information needed. Myself and my wife have separate work permits in UAE so I hope that counts as a plus..and her take home exceeds 500k naira (mine as well..being working for 2+ years here while my wife 1+). but may I ask what medical exams are required for study visa in Canada

You still have to check that on the cic web cos it's not all countries that medicals is required from....
Medical assessment is conducted for... xray...urine culture... blood (syphilis, hiv 1&2).... physical exam... vital signs (BP, eye sightings nd co)
