Thanks. I understand. Looking back in time, did Linus Torvald's free open source vision turn out to be unwise? Was he altruistically giving out free, what others are making money out of?

Altruism is a virtue. No, he wasn't unwise in making free his open source version. However, he failed in protecting his patent in that regard and the reason for that is not farfetched; whereas he's ambitious but he's never covetous. This is in contrast to someones like Bill and Mark whom many out there assumded are covetous.

In fact, Linus is more of an inventor than an entrepreneur whereas the reserve is the case for Bill and Mark.

Would you consider this as an appropriate summary of the book or not?

Outliers[edit]
Main article: Outliers (book)

Gladwell's third book, Outliers, published in 2008, examines how a person's environment, in conjunction with personal drive and motivation, affects his or her possibility and opportunity for success. Gladwell's original question revolved around lawyers: "We take it for granted that there's this guy in New York who's the corporate lawyer, right? I just was curious: Why is it all the same guy?", in reference to the comparable family histories of many early corporate lawyers.[clarification needed] In another example given in the book, Gladwell noticed that people ascribe Bill Gates's success to being "really smart" or "really ambitious". He noted that he knew a lot of people who are really smart and really ambitious, but not worth 60 billion dollars. "It struck me that our understanding of success was really crude — and there was an opportunity to dig down and come up with a better set of explanations."

If you want to become a billionaire you take advice from a billionaire, you are deviating from the topic we are talking about the success of a billionaire Mark and how someone can reproduce it not a mere book seller with few green bags in his name.

There is what is called destiny

I'm the laziest person on earth, but when i was a kid i knew i would be a millionaire, i use to tell my friends then that even if i sleep for 60 years straight without working that im destined to be rich, i eventually became a millionaire at the age of 22 without working for no one for a single day, that's destiny

If hard work guarantees success barrow pushers, brick layers, bus drivers would be billionaires because those guys grinds and works harder than everyone in this world

You are pathetic. Your likes can hamper growth of a nation by not explaining well enough your good intentions. I read your second post of how you make your money, which in anyone's opinion takes hardwork, smart work and sheer keen eyes.

Let's assume you are a leader or you are a manager of a company. Would you tell your employees to be idle going by what you've just written?

I bet you don't know what creativity is. Creative people, just as hardworking people may not know they have the qualities probably because they enjoy what they do. Hardwork is really broad, very , very broad, and that is the reason you couldn't even tell whetheR you are or not.

Please, sleep for 100 years naa and make the money, "mr I can sleep for 60 years and make wealth the way I want".

In everything one does in this world, one has got to think, work hard, work smart (part of hard work, IMHO) and above all hope for the best. You are an Atheist, I know quite well. After the whole hard work, smart work, thinking, one has to now cast their cares to God and it will be well.

brother, don't give me another career talk, being an entrepreneur myself, I know what it takes to start or co-own a business.
There is always someone who can do it better than you. there is always a field of specialisation, different people will do different things. At the moment, both Facebook and Google can do it better than the whole of Africa..

thank you ..but when is Nigeria going to have electricity ...

First i commend you, love talking with smart dudes. Nice write up what about Torvald Linux, if you don't know about the dude let me tell you a little about him, the dude invented Linux Operating system. Dude do you know what it takes to write an operating system in C for that matter and creating an enormous operating system called Linux which others copied and made other variant of the operating system. Why is Torvald not as rich as Bill. Another case study here in US so many code a lot even better than Bill and Mark but how many have created such products like facebook and windows/its applications. Its Destiny

Oh i forgot the man that invented C language which Microsoft Windows was developed with, why is the man not as rich as Bill and Mark lol should i continue to list them lol

It means a lot to me to wish you good luck and prosperity on this new year.
