That face is good for them, since they don`t have to mention the things they hate most about her-name and nationality!

Advise your sister to get in touch with a lawyer because they have to pay her. They know they can get away with anything since she is from Africa.

UK gets about £8 billion a year from foreign students, so don`t sell yourself cheap. Good luck!

Early this year My lil sister (Nwachukwu Chinwe ) a first-class graduate of AUN , (currently in the UK, Coventry University precisely for an MBA) was nominated amongst other British and European students to audition for a photoshoot which was to be used as the official CU London Campus poster.

She woke up this morning only to find out the poster was out and her face was selected. She has been so surprised as she wasn't expecting to be selected not just because she's black but because she's Nigerian without any British affiliation lol. I guess favoritism isn't as pronounced in the UK as it is in Nigeria.

Well Coventry University gets a lot of funds from Nigerian students so it is understandable why they opted to use your sister's picture. On the contrary I still wonder why a first class material will choose coventry uni over the russell group universities or more elite universities in the U.S. I remember this guy who spent 8 years failing and struggling to earn his bachelors. Fast forward with no work experience I later heard he was undertaking master at coventry uni. You even find people with no work experience getting accepted to the school's MBA program. People with lower than third class grades also being offered positions at coventry uni. Personally, I wont advise Nigerians to enroll at coventry uni. Just my opinion though

We Africans should aspire more when it comes to choosing schools abroad. I sincerely want the mentality of thinking that "elite schools will not admit you" to stop.

In my time leaving 9ja, we aspired to go the very best schools in the world. That was how we were brought up and taught at school. That with top grades finishing secondary school, we were just as good as the best students Europe, America, Japan or any country had to offer. It remains the same today, just that now, our self-confidence has plummeted seriously.

However, fees in the elite schools cost a lot more. So I can understand if that is an object.

Confirmed. Elite schools tend to grant you access to better network, better teachers and overall learning experience is much better. With or without a UK work visa with an education from the elite school you can do more than you think as you are mentally challenged at elite schools and prepared to be able to create/add value anywhere. In my uni then (russell group 2012) there were three africans in my class and i'm still in touch with them. One is now an IT audit specialist at the Bank of Ghana (central bank of ghana), the other is an IT analyst at the judiciary of rwanda (Rwanda's ministry of justice) and I am a technologist (develop banking applications) at one of nigeria's biggest banks working directly with the CIO and all. We are all doing something. on the contrary I have friends from many of these UK universities (former polytechnics) still job hunting / sitting at home / condemning British education. I even know someone who graduated from LSE last year and has just been offered a position at world bank's HQ in washington DC...
