The DSS acted ultra vires. They went overboard with their abominable actions.

The fight against corruption, while applaudable, must be done within the ambit of law.

The bench should consider this appalling treatment of its members an assault on its independence. All lovers of democracy and the rule of law must rise in unison and condemn this act of tyranny. Nigeria is not Stalin's Russia and the President must be told so.

By the way, the DSS should provide ocular evidence of the money found in the homes of these judges. It has become a pastime of the government and its agencies to bandy humongous figures about.

How does searching a suspect house by security operatives amount to tyranny, we just talk anyhow, is it today in this country tht police search peoples houses, so y is dz one diff, because they r judges, so judges are more humans than the common man on d street

Corrupt judges should be taken down.

The looters of our commonwealth are always confident of going to courts seeking questionable injunctions?

How will a Judge grant an injunction in perpetuity that an Ex-Gov must not be tried by anybody? Is that sane?

Where is RIcky Tarfa that was making noise before? Is he not the one pleading for ''Plea Bargain'' now? It is this useless SAN that only takes his case to only one Judge and he has won all and yet he said there is no big deal in donating N10m for the burial of the Judge's father.

Corrupt Judges are the threats to our democracy and a major clog in the wheel of progress of this nation and fight against corruption.

we are not into military regime , Buhari should obey the rules of law, before he accuse anybody of looting money, there must be evident of proof. If he is fighting corruption ,let him follow the constitution, with strong evidence.

So,a chief judge found with 400k in dollars is corrupt now? Some people needs brain surgery. These are people who have been in private practice for years with multi national companies as clients. Buhari has got this all wrong with his mode of getting results. Invading the privacy of people at night and he has failed to get the Chibok girls for so long. The economy is worse off and he is here chasing shadows. Shows he didn't really have that academic knowledge he needed to run a democratic government. He is surely a fulani herdsman with a military background. Lol.

shut up your mouth. So we must fall back to illegality in order to deal with corruption?. The whole act threatens our very democracy which we are still thriving to attain in the first place. This act must be discouraged because it is more corrupt than the actions of the Judges. Shun from encouraging ill in our society. People like you will lead to the reocurrence of situations like this.

Buhari is only trying to fill the Supreme Court with judges in his pocket

He is removing the Judges he can't intimidate and replacing them with O yes men!

Reasonable folks know DSS' s game plan especially in the case of Hon. Justice Onnoghen J.S.C. He is the most senior Justice of the Supreme Court and billed to succeed Justice Mahmood Muhammed this November. They however want to take him out of the equation so that Justice Ibrahim Tanko Muhammad can succeed. The "establisment" does not want to reliquish their 29 year hold on the Judiciary.

Hon. Justice Onnoghen J.S.C will be the first Southerner since 1987 come November to be the Chief Justice of the Federation!

ALBUQUERQUE—Angus Kelly McGinty, 51, a former Texas state district court judge in Bexar County, Texas, pleaded guilty today to an honest services wire fraud charge and admitted depriving the State of Texas and citizens of Bexar County of his honest services by soliciting and accepting bribes intended to influence his judicial decisions. McGinty’s guilty plea was announced by Damon P. Martinez, U.S. Attorney for the District of New Mexico, and Christopher H. Combs, Special Agent in Charge of the FBI’s San Antonio Division.

Every society holds it a duty to itself and the coming generation to prevent a meltdown by allowing some category of citizens to commit infractions freely because we revere them. A way must be found to prevent the ugly situation we found ourselves from becoming standard where justice can be easily perverted. Any surprise people now take resolution of problems to the streets via assault, battery, assassination, kidnapping and militancy as the society wishes to turn a blind eye to lack justice by the system.

We are still debating the vile use the blanket immunity clause granted executives needs to be curtailed, such as a governor physically obstructing arrest by government agents, yet nothing can be done about it. We should learn to copy a system and copy properly, even the US keeps reinventing it's system as it faces problems. Remember the former governor of Obama's state was arrested for expressing a desire to sell Obama's senate seat for money, no cash was yet collected yet he lost his seat. In Nigeria of today such a governor will get away with such misdemeanor.

Judges get routinely arrested and prosecuted on allegation of bribery to influence judgment even in the most advanced democracy in the world. Arresting judges for crimes is not an assault on democracy, but rather strengths it. They still have the opportunity to defend themselves. The bench must never become a safe haven to be occupied by scoundrels.

The question is what is the due process that was not followed?

Let us separate chaff from the grain. Let us do away with sentiments, emotions and hatred.

DSS had a search warrant properly signed and the law says you can arrest without an arrest warrant. DSS informed NJC about the activities of the Judges.

What exactly is the due process that was not followed?
