These Ivorians are not joking with the return leg ooo. Our Falcons should seriously watch out for these technically gifted Ivorians. A draw soup to me will be ok
Na to pack the midfield and defence o... A 4-4-2 won't be bad. Ajibade playing as the arrow head of the midfield..with two of Uchenna Kanu,Ify and Esther up top. Regina Otu,Ucheibe and Rita completing the Midfield...the defence pick itself

Amanda Mbadi played DM in the last game, with Rita Chikwelu playing Centrally. When Coach Randy subbed off Mbadi, I was expecting him to bring in Regina Otu he moved Chikwelu to DM, Ajibade to the Central and Payne back to the Attacking Midfield with Ashleigh Plumptre moving down to the Left Back position...

Removing Chikwelu for Okobi spoiled everything, the Midfield finally Collapsed. Because there was no true DM and Ajibade was looking tired already..

Okobi who came in Can't do the Dirty job in the Midfield.. Yes Chikwelu is old and lack pace but her strength and experience is still there just that the pace of the modern game is no longer there...

Randy used this same formation against USA
But against CIV Alozie was bumping to and fro but Payne look more attacking...

Moving Ashleigh fully to the Left Back when we started leading 2goals..

....i thought i was the only one that noticed that, as soon as we made that first sub around 50 something minute into the match our midfield collapsed, i do not know the player substituted, as streaming was very poor., however, i realized that all off a sudden midfield became non existant..the only grace we had was we scored the second goal almost immediately, and our defense was up t the task. I believe he should have learnt his lesson, as the second leg no go easy....
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by AkinDS: 5:19pm On Feb 22, 2022
Neither are the Super Falcons...

In hind sight, the second leg of the Nigeria/Ghana tie was a blessing in disguise, as it opened up our eyes to what CAN happen if we don't take our opponents seriously. That was a lucky escape for us.

I believe our girls know what's up and will be ready for the task (or dear I say, WAR) that's upcoming with the Ivoriens. I believe we have enough ammunition to carry the day.

Going out on a limb and will say: 2-0, Nigeria wins.

And that is one of the key issues with Okobi...she lacks versatility.
As a midfielder, you should be able to play both sides of the ball - defensively and offensively. Sadly, Okobi's defensive side of the game is virtually non-existent.
The writing might be on the wall for her, as there are several up and coming, dynamic and younger midfield players (like Amanda Mbadi and soon-to-be SF, Debbie Ajibola) who are the next generation. There is also Halimat Ayinde, who is on track to recover from her ACL injury and is making progress.
Hopefully, Okobi's below average performance in this game will not be the final straw.

The Defensive Midfielder Amanda Mbadi was taken off then Uchenna Kanu was brought in, Moving Chikwelu to DM, things weren't that bad though but immediately Chikwelu came off for Okobi it worsen because there was no DM to clean things up, but thank Goodness Ashleigh was up to the task... By the way the Ivorians were mainly coming through both wings because the middle was well blocked by Mbadi and Chikwelu at first..

Their Skillful forward Koko #10 who play for UDG Tenerife in Spain tried using Alozie's Wing but Alozie was up to the task before their coach moved her to the Left to face Ashleigh...

Alozie did impressed me too after her below average performance at the Aisha Buhari Cup, she really learnt her lessons and stepped up her Physical game..

Okobi is an attacking minded player though, one of the reasons we don't see her defensive deficiency is because the likes of Halimatu Ayinde, Rita Chikwelu, Evelyn Nwabuoku were all doing most of the Marking and tackling for her, once she gets the ball she dribbles and deliver those lovely passes..

Just try and watch her previous games, you would see she likes that freedom of playing behind the strikers where all the job behind her have been done...

In terms of Versaility she's, At clubside she plays Wingback too either from the Left or Right...
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by Schemerkhiz: 5:52pm On Feb 22, 2022
Am beginning to Like Rasheedat Ajibade Moore and Moore, She has the Strength of Chikwelu, you can hardly beat her in terms of physical battles, her technical abilities are top notch...

Playing as a Midfielder for Country and Forward for her Clubside..

As for Halimatu Ayinde who's back with her Club for Pre-Seasons, will have to fight hard to get her spot back from Ajibade...

We have the advantage already so we have to be cautious going into the second leg...
That's why I think Rita shouldn't play as a lone DM...The Ivorian will be more aggressive and more willing to throw everything forward, Rita may not be able to handle it.

Randy won't even dare to risk it, he knows too well that Rita Chikwelu no longer have the pace, that's why a younger and ruthless defensive midfielder of Mbadi, Otu or Ucheibe will definitely be paired along side with her...

Better .. securing our lead is primary though that doesn't mean we shouldn't make attempt to increase our lead.

It will depend on the formation tomorrow cause the Coach fancy the likes of Okoronkwo very much because she's tactically and technically discipline..

Ordega is more of a Flashing Player who brings in pace, Skills and a lot of strength upfront, she doesn't score like that but she runs the show delivering assists and excellent runs from the wing.

The dimension will definitely change since there's Onumonu, Okoronkwo, Ordega and Kanu...
If not two, One will have to come From the bench..

I wonder how it would be if the likes of Asisat Oshoala, Desire Oparanozie, Maclean's Chinonyerem are available for selection..

We also need a free kick specialist, No Oparanozie,No Ngozi Ebere..

Kanu used to play free kicks at her College side years back, I wonder what happened to those qualities because she's a complete striker.

Esther Okoronkwo did well with her Corner kicks but her free kick's isn't there yet.

Kicking out Favorite Mali after penalty shootouts..
Agg (1-1)
Penalty (3-2)

Remembered some years back 2016 to be Specific when the Senegalese held the Superfalcons to a 1-1 in Dakar before losing to the Superfalcons in Abuja 2nil, thanks to goals from Osarenoma Ogbinovia and Rita Chikwelu.

Go watched the Sadio Mane girls game you would see how Physical and quick they're. Very tall too..

Our Falconet should watch out for their U20....

I am not saying it is wrong for her to enjoy the freedom she has because others are doing all the dirty work, which she is not good at.
In modern day football, the players that are successfull are those that can play multiple roles (not one trick ponies).
If you notice, most (if not all) the girls that Randy has picked can play multiple roles and positions. Okobi can't.
Eventually, the coach will have very little use for her on the squad and that will be the final straw.
