Deltamani: This isn't a tad bit surprising sha. The new NFF president has been pushing for this even with the Eagles. Randy only had to prove he's smarter when he releases his list. He can obviously fulfill the 4 homebase player requirements working with players he already uses. Just go with the following players and he'll be good Onome Ebi (currently home based) Deborah Abiodun Akudo Ogbonna Any of the myriad of attackers we have in the U-17/20 squad. 1 Like |

In thinking about it some more, the 'four homebased player inclusion' theory was based, according to Gusau, on saving money for qualifiers. FIFA shoulders the costs of transportation and lodging for all countries that qualify. Therefore, there should be absolutely NO excuse to mandate homebased players on the WWC Squad. PDPGuy: You grab We better sha get coach that can utilize all these talents that are vast and everywhere. The only local coach that could do such was late Keshi for male and maybe Okon for the ladies. The current local ones will get overwhelmed or the above rinse amd repeat will be the main project. 1 Like 1 Share |

I fear player like Echegini might not make the list , since she hasn't been in the team for long NFF can easily replace her with an home base players |

Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by AkinDS: 11:03am On Jun 10, 2023 |
You can add Oshoala and Oparanozie to that list also. Oparanozie did not play a single minute of qualifiers and has been absent from the Falcons for over 2 years, while Oshoala did not play in any of the qualifiers and barely played 45 minutes in the WAFCON. Question is: should both players then be dropped to accommodate lesser quality or home based players? It ain’t gonna work for Nigeria. lovewins: 1 Like |

Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by AkinDS: 11:11am On Jun 10, 2023 |
When Onyi joined the team, the midfield really began to tick. She successfully displaced Okobi without any controversy and has really elevated that department in the squad. Baring Injury, she should be on the list to go for the WWC. There is absolutely NO home based better that any of the girls we have right now! None!!! isan: 2 Likes 1 Share |

Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by Deltamani: 12:14pm On Jun 10, 2023 |
isan: Please and Please don’t go there, Randy first choice midfielders in recent games till date are Halimatu Ayinde, Tony Payne, Onyi Echegini… With Christy Ucheibe, Ngozi Okobi and Regina Otu follows. There’s no way Onyi isn’t going to the World Cup except NFF comes into play as she has literally cemented her spot right from the revelation Cup. In our last 5 games she’s among those with the most minutes. |
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by Deltamani: 12:18pm On Jun 10, 2023 |
AkinDS: You’re very correct AkinDS.. I don’t see any Midfielder better than the ones I listed earlier( Ayinde, Payne, Onyi, Ucheibe, Okobi, Otu). Who are they bringing to bench any of them? Deborah Abeodun, Esther Onyenezide or Chinyere Kalu Even Peace Efih, Amanda Mbadi have lost their spots as it stands. |
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by Deltamani: 12:21pm On Jun 10, 2023 |
do4luv14: If NFF insists on the Four Home based players to be included fine, we would understand that. And that won’t even affect a Player like Onyi Echegini who has been impressive so far. Maybe Regina Otu as there’s Halimatu Ayinde, Christy Ucheibe already and she seems to have been relegated to the bench since after Aisha Buhari Cup.. |

Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by AkinDS: 1:18pm On Jun 10, 2023 |
Yes. That's because Florida State U was able to grant Onyi dispensation from her final exams at the last minute. Randy promptly added her onto the squad when Onyi confirmed that to him. Nicole Payne (USC), on the other hand, was not able to be excused from her finals and was therefore unable to make the trip. isan: |
