I already love her, but who can she really bench Oshoala, Oparanozie or Ordega? Most likely Oparanozie because either Oshoala and Ordega can move from the flanks, but with Oparanozie now the captain and the coach with so much confidence in her, I believe Uche will always be subbed. What then happens to Umotong, Courtney, Ihezuo and Chinaza. Ajibade can easily switch down to the midfield.

The positions are now seriously contested, excellent

Uchenna Kanu is Versatile too, can play in any position upfront..she uses both feets effectively and she's a good header.
Oparanozie is the Captain, She's getting back to form so i see no reason why she should be bench....and experience is on her side..

This is what the Super Falcons failed to do to Equitorial Guinea in and Zambia. I have always maintained that the coach was not selecting the best players and now he can see that with the right personnel we can actually play eye catching football. Cynthia Aku has to have put her self slap dab in the conversation off her performance yesterday and the same goes for Evelyn Nwabuoku. I think it will be hard for some players to get back in the SF because these players look up for it and I expect the trend to continue until they lift the WAFU trophy

Yes, I was impressed by their general coordination and movement today. The right-back put in some decent crosses to the forwards as well.
However, I still don’t think the “main” would lose to this team. At best, both teams would play out a draw.

For the World Cup, I only potential starters in the first 11 would be Uchenna Kanu and Nwabuoku. Igbinovia would always be amongst the substitutes.
In fact, Uchenna has already secured a seat on the plane to France. Nwabuoku has bags of experience.

No way any of these WAFU Falcons start in the world cup especially in the attack positions. The coach isn't that crazy. Now as they progress, they will be subbed in. Anyways it is a good way to get the girls some good international exposure and to give the main players something to light a fire under them, you don't perform, you have a young hungrier mate ready to replace you.

France 2019: Dennerby lists Ebi, Oparanozie, 25 others for World Cup final camp

Defensive bulwark Onome Ebi, midfield lubricator Ngozi Okobi and power forward Desire Oparanozie top the list of 27 players that Super Falcons’ Head Coach Thomas Dennerby has listed for the final camp in Austria ahead of the 8th FIFA Women’s World Cup finals taking place in France 7th June – 7th July 2019.

Goalkeeper Tochukwu Oluehi, defenders Josephine Chukwunonye, Osinachi Ohale and Ngozi Ebere, midfielders Rita Chikwelu and Halimatu Ayinde and forwards Asisat Oshoala and Francisca Ordega, who all played key roles in the Super Falcons’ ninth continental triumph in Ghana late last year, are also included.

Worst time to release this list. Why will the players put extra effort in WAFU cup if they know they're not even in the list?
So Courney Dike isnt good enough? Maybe not fit enough.
The coach has kept his words though. He picked 8 of the WAFU player. Now he will drop 4 and I think it will be 3 attackers and 1 goalie. (Uchendu, Umotong and Ogebe) might drop out.
I met Ogbonna Chukwudi sometime last month in Stockholm and she wasnt in top shape. I fear she might drop out too.

My prediction for the final 23 are:

GK: Nnadozie, Oluehi, Jonathan

DF: Chukwunonye, Ebi, Michael, Ebere, Okeke, Ohale

MF: All midfielders except Chukwudi.

FW: All forwards except Alice Ogebe
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by PDPGuy: 5:49pm On May 13
There are 26 players, not 27 in the preliminary list

I mean, I NEVER EXPERRED IT!
With only 6 defenders in the provisional squad, it is quite safe to say that CHIDINMA OKEKE, a huge revelation in 2018 class of Falconets, IS ON HER WAY TO FRANCE for next month's FIFA Women's World Cup.
1 goalkeeper and in all likelihood, 1 midfielder plus 2 forwards will be dropped when the Coach Dennerby finally makes up his mind. WHO ARE THE SURPLUS?
27 SUPER FALCONS FOR WORLD CUP FINAL CAMP

Tochukwu Oluehi, Alaba Jonathan, Chiamaka Nnadozie, Christy Ohiaeriaku

Honestly it would be a disgrace to drop Glory Ogbonna despite her top draw performances in these games. She has like 10 assists in 2 matches, I don't know what else she has to do to get considered in a right back position that is porous at the moment. Wogu and Esther Sunday are also important because we don't have any convincing winger coming off the bench.

You are right. Now the incentive for team cohesion in this WAFU tournament is gone. It is to shine and try to get noticed and picked up by a club. They will definitely not be passing to certain players no more.

The revenge match

Ghana beat Nigeria 5-4 on penalties in the semi-final of the last women's WAFU Cup in 2018.

Ghana went on to beat the Ivory Coast 1-0 to win the trophy, while Nigeria had to settle for third place after beating Mali 2-1.

Now Ghana and Nigeria meet in the semi-final again. Can Nigeria get its revenge?

Stay tuned for the revenge match on Thursday.

She's actually a winger. She's just one of the handiwork of the coach. Same thing he's doing with Anam Imo, converting wingers to right back. Defensively solid and attacking potential.

She will make a good Right Back if fully Converted...she has the pace, defensively stable, her pull out from the Flanks are topnotch.
