Pavarottii: Where were you when GEJ said "Igbos are the pillars of my administration"? Where were you when his wife called the northerners "born throway"? Where were you when Asari Dokubo was threatening Nigerians because of the crumbs he was getting? Despite all these, the SS has moved on and their leaders were in Aso Rock just last week. We know those who are fighting other Nigerians and have not learnt to live with others cos they have a culture of disrespect and lack home training. They sow hate and expect to reap love in return, the children of hate, anger and bitterness. 9 Likes 1 Share |

This is an ill advised decision. State house Marina belongs to all Nigerians. This is a historic building. By the way where would future presidents stay when they visit Lagos or where would he receive heads of state, who are known to stay in state house marina when in Lagos? |

The courage of a yoruba man. read Alabukun Powder story CHIEFJACOB SOGBOYEGA ODULATE, An exceptionally gifted man whose name and work echo into eternity. He exemplifies the hallmark of industry and entrepreneurial spirit of the Yoruba. This great man toiled in his laboratory, writing the notes which contained the formula for what would ultimately be known as his famous patented medicine, ALABUKUN Powder. Alabukun means âGiver of Graceâ. The year was 1918. It was early in the evening of another hectic day at his place of work, a functional combination of office, consulting room and laboratory-cum workshop. His single minded pursuit of the goal of establishing an indigenous medical/pharmaceutical brand was legendary. He had displayed the same purposeful determination when at the age of 14, he decided to uproot himself from his ancestral town of Ikorodu and he had embarked on an exploratory journey which took him three months on foot to establish a domestic and commercial base in Abeokuta. His very modest, but cherished âheadquartersâ was built in the Sapon area of Abeokuta, a mere walking distance from the site of his future three-storey landmark home in Ijemo Agbadu. A black man and member of the Yoruba ethnic group had triumphed against the seemingly insurmountable obstacles that the British colonial authorities had placed in the path of ambitious ânativesâ. He had penetrated the fortress of British-dominated commercial enterprise in nascent Nigeria, to become one of a very small group of Nigerian entrepreneurs in the colony. He had reasons to smile. From the modest, but gradually escalating proceeds of the sale of Alabukun Powder, Alabukun Mentholine and other locally made products â all produced by him â the Blessed Jacob was able to realize his overarching desire, which was to underwrite all the expenses associated with sending his children to the land of the erstwhile colonial rulers, Britain, to further their education. One after the other, his offspring went off to study at Durham, Newcastle, USA and London to qualify as educationists, medical doctors, lawyers and engineers. They returned to Nigeria to join the pool of highly educated and successful professionals for which Abeokuta has been particularly famed in Nigeria history. Alabukunâs offsprings have prospered and have made immense contributions to Yorubaland and to Nigeria in their various professions and spheres of endeavour. Amongst his children is Chief Folake Solanke SAN,who is the first Nigerian female to wear silk, became the first female Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN). She also established the first law firm by a Nigerian female at Ibadan in 1966, named âAlabukun Chambersâ. The enduring success of the Alabukun brand is now interwoven into the fabric of modern Nigeria medical history. The Alabukun Powder in particular is displayed and sold in thousands of pharmacies, markets and roadside stalls all over Nigeria. In many states in Nigeria, Alabukun powder is considered to be the obligatory cure-all for almost every ailment. In neighbouring countries such as Benin Republic, Ghana and Cameroon, the eye-catching Alabukun brand is to be seen advertised everywhere. Alabukun products are sold in several towns and cities in the USA, the UK, in Europe, Brazil, Jamaica, and yes, even as far away as China. You can buy Alabukun products on-line, off-line, under-bridges and over-expressways. What a man! What a hero! What a legacy! Blessed Jacob of blessed memory, DAWN Commission salutes and celebrates you as a foremost Yoruba inventor and pioneer in the healthcare sector. Your values and ethics live long after you. Extracts from âThe happy life of a pioneerâ and culled from Nigerian Tribune. The writer, Chief (Mrs.) Stella O. Odesanya, MFR, is the eldest surviving child of Chief J. S. Odulate â Alabukun â The blessed Jacob.

FakoMaybach1: My friend it didn't work den, how will it work now, was it not a regional sys of gov we were using wen d biafran war broke out and ojukwu was asking for a confederation?? U guys seems to forget history, u said d military didn't give it a chance, y do u tink the military took over, they took over because it clearly wasn't working...... If dey create regions nd it's not working, d next tin would be to ask for a confederation, which means a break up of Nigeria |

OkoYibo:The SE(tho am not from there) av even moved on after wat they suffered in d civil war, and av carried on. With their lives for about 40years and av lived peacefully round the whole country. U know no one migrates more than them. But this tribal hatred just like the civil war; by the west/north has just come wen a SS person is the president for the first and av carried the igbos along without marginalising dem. So am correct to say the real tribalistic people are d north/west people. We could see their real sef for the hatred they av for GEJ. Now lemme ask u a question. Would u vote an igbo man to be president? |
Re: Buhari Hands Over Presidential Lodge To Lagos Government by OkoYibo: 7:40pm On Nov 06, 2016 |
Pavarottii: In 1999, Igbos betrayed ekwueme at the PDP primaries and voted Obasanjo at the elections. In 2003, they betrayed Ojukwu who contested under APGA and voted for Obasanjo of PDP. In 2007, they once again betrayed Orji Uzor kalu of PPA and voted Yar'Adua of PDP. In 2011, Igbos as usual voted Goodluck under PDP instead of Osita Okechukwu. In 2015, they voted GEJ again, but he lost. The question shoud be "would Igbos vote an Igbo man as President or betray him as usual?" 7 Likes |

OkoYibo:First of all, u didn't ansa my question. Secondly; nobody betrayed shit; how do u expect ekweme or ojukwu or orji uzor kalu to win an election in Nigeria;(when the military still controlled Nigeria in d guise of democracy, abdulsalam compensated d west cos they lost out with abiola; that's why obj was brought out of prison and made president; elections were obviously rigged) that is widely controlled by d north politically n by number; and who even told u they were nt voted for, or even told u they voted in mass? |

ademusiwa2x: Let me educate you. The building does not belong to Buhari, neither is it the property of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. The building belonged to the Colony of Lagos. Lagos and West was never a protectorate like the rest of Nigeria was. Does your @$$ know difference between Crown Colony and British Protectorate? Here let me educate you... Crown Colony is a appendix to the Palace. The budget to administer colony comes direct from the Royal Court. Protectorate is a appendix to Parliament. Parliament must vote budget and release fund through approval of the Office of Exchecquer. Diplomatic affairs of Colony is directed from the Palace. Diplomatic affairs of Protectorate is directed from Downing Street. So that building belonged to Colony of Lagos. It housed the Governor of the Colony. Even before amalgamation we had "The Colony and Southern Protectorates". After amalgamation we had Nigeria and the head title changed from Governor to Governor-General. The Governor-General stayed in the State House Marina. Its ownership was never converted to Nigeria as it continued to host successive Governor-Generals and then Head of State and President. If you have a occupancy certificate that converted ownership from Crown Colony to FGN we'd like to see it. In 1957 when Western Nigeria was given autonomy Awolowo, may God bless that prophet he was truly visionary, argued for and obtained a separate Diplomatic status for Self Governance from Downing Street because he pointed out that Lagos and Western Nigeria were never Protectorates of Britain and cannot therefore be donated to a new independent nation. He won and ended up with Western House in London. He related with England through that office while the rest of the regions used the Nigerian Embassy to conduct relations with England. So we have precedents and history behind us to prove your claims false. 2 Likes 1 Share |
