Hitler was a christian for most of his life, it was close to 1939 that he became a sort of deist, even at that Hitler didn't commit most of the evils himself he ordered his soldiers who were very well christians themselves. He even had the help of churches to determine who was Jewish and not, by checking their birth register. You qualify as Jewish if your ancestors were Jewish sometime before the 17th century. So though Hitler was a deist later in life his soldiers that committed the atrocities and most of the German citizenry that tolerated the evil were very largely christian. Also the Catholic church failed to speak against his persecution of the Jews, this is still a thing of great shame to the church. Also the motive behind most of the Jewish persecution was that they were the killer of Christ. So the atrocities had a very christian dimension to it.
