Vice President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo disclosed this at Onitsha when he met with industrialists whose companies situate at the Industrial Habour Layout, Onitsha.
During the meeting, all the manufacturers in the industrial layout exhibited their products in various stands while the Vice President, accompanied by Governor Willie Obiano, the Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr Chris Ngige and others moved round to inspect them.
Speaking after the inspection, Vice President Osinbajo who said he was impressed by the sheer enterprise which the Layout reflects, noted that there is no doubt that Anambra is the industrial hub of the country.
He explained that the visit was part of efforts by the Federal Government to strengthen the domestic economy by reviving local industries in the country to create job opportunities for youths in the country.

The Vice President who revealed that the Federal Government is working with the State Government to improve the condition of industrialists and business people through series of demands which Governor Obiano has made for the traders, assuring that he will report back to President Muhammadu Buhari what he has seen in the State for onward interventions.

Haters are really not comfortable grin grin You sit in your enclave and think others are sleeping, Your tribe's man have revealed what he saw on ground, kids that doesn't know outside their region are here hitting their heads on the wall
.
[b]Former Head of State, General Abdulsalam Abubakar, yesterday officially commissioned the new ultra modern Nnewi Hotel and Event Centre, Anambra State, with a call on all Nigerians to work together to build the nation.
Abubakar who is the chairman of the National Peace Committee, said that all hands must be on deck to ensure that the nation’s economy is revamped as that task should not be left in the hands of government alone.
He pointed out that the industrial town of Nnewi is already a shining example of how the private sector and individuals can contribute positively toward building the nation’s economy.
“Nnewi people have already blazed the trail in the area of building the nation’s economy through individual efforts.
“I have gone round to see the factories in the town and I can say with all sense of responsibility that this is the best industrial cluster in Nigeria.
“People from other areas should come to Nnewi to learn how the industrialists here are doing it”, he said.

The former Head of State commended the industrialists and manufacturers in Anambra state for their efforts even as he urged them not to relent in the face of the present economic recession.
His words: “Economic recession is a reality we cannot run away from but with our collective efforts, we can jointly work together to reposition the nation and have a vibrant economy.
“In doing this, the private sector has major roles to play as we have seen in the Nnewi example.
“Recession is not peculiar to Nigeria because all over the world, there is economic recession, it is going to be tough but we have to be patient with the government.”
Speaking on the prevailing insecurity across the country, Abubakar said there is no need for the current agitation and tension because all nagging issues can be resolved through dialogue.
“We can sit at a round table to discuss. I am appealing to all Nigerians to come together and discuss, no matter where they come from, and their grievances”, he stated.
The former Head of State had along with the hotel proprietor, Dr. Ben Aghazu, and other dignitaries earlier visited major companies in Nnewi, including Chikason Group, Ibeto Group, Ifeanyi Ubah games village.
Abubakar thereafter performed the commissioning of the hotel alongside the Anambra state governor, Chief Willie

This boy and propaganda. The VP knows better than to make such a false categorical statement as that would be the height of ignorance and falsehood, as the state doesn't contribute that significantly to the overall national industrial capacity. Where would that leave the likes of Lagos and Ogun the undisputed industrial powerhouses in the country? OP, you must be working overtime for your government house paymasters.

Lol. I actually used to think you had a bit of sense in you until you asked this dumb question. The caption/title of this thread alone is a fallacy. lol. How on God's green earth can any sane person say Anambra is the 'Economic Heartbeat of Nigeria'? The VP certainly couldn't have made such a sweepingly false and misleading statement. Where would that leave higher and more prominent contributors to the Nigerian economy like the Lagos, the Niger-Delta States, e.t.c?? How much is Anambra's GDP contribution compared to even Imo state sef not to talk of other prominent contributors? You see, it's wild and sensational exaggerations like this that make you all the butt of jokes on here, especially that government hireling that initiated this thread. You should sometimes be mindful that some of us are actually intelligent enough not to fall for such foolishness.

Igbos too own a good number of the industrial complexes in Lagos /ogun axis. The largest biscuits factory in that axis is owned by an Igbo man , another owns a very big industrial complex that makes wine, soap etc, Emma Bishop.

This is what I have been preaching all this while in nairaland, the day igbos would move their investment East ward is the day Nigeria would take igbos more seriously.

Now they are coming to the east to look at our billion naira Rice farms, our shoe and leather products clusters (largest in Africa) ,our multi billion dollars auto manufacturing city ( the only one in Africa) and the harbor industrial cluster in onitsha.
The only place there is no recession is in the east, instead of downsizing and closing of shops more business outfits are springing up (lots of thanks to Obiano's team)

If igbos continue their divestment to the east, the tipping point will be when a band wagon effect is triggered making investments in the east and regionalisation of multinational offices in the east a must option .

This will lead igbos to where they were in international reckoning before the 1966 coups, with Eastern economy being the fastest growing economy in the world

This isn't about pitting Imo to Anambra. I merely compared the same Anambra with a fellow SE state in terms of available GDP benchmark data. If you dispute that data, which is within your right, get a more reliable one to prove your point. For all the noise you all make about this state, it is barely making a dent on the country's GDP, be it in industry or economically as it's not even a top 10 contributor to the national commonwealth. There should be a limit to hype and propaganda please. Some of your should cultivate the habit of restraint abeg.
