U can only do that in Nigeria, i don't think u will be allowed to apply for student visa in Malaysia.

Yes, there's racism going on in malaysia but i pray i dont witness any. have heard lot of stories. I wouldn't advice anyone to come here thinking you can get a job. If your parents aren't rich, my friend don't just think of coming here hoping you can get a job to support your study. No jab here ooo. but if you are making use of family funds, you'll enjoy ya life here wella. Malaysia is a nice place to live provided u are loaded. I, as an example., my folks in 9ja, uncles n cousins in d UK n US load good cash into my account monthly., i bought a vios car im using personally cos my condo is far frm schl. When u have money, your personal ride not rented car, malay gals will wanna date u especially chinese, you wont b prone to facing racism n all in da train, bus or cab. i have never withnessed anything racism tho. the only problem is that DO NOT "openly"date a malay indian gal cos ya life might b at risk. Except u wanna do scam with them igbo boys, then DON'T dare come here if you ain't gon b sponsored by your family. Alot of africans are suffering here cos no one tells them d truth b4 they came, their agent lied to them about getting a jab or opportunities. just offrecent, news came that 9ja boys alongside malay indians went robbing, spoiling 9ja's image the more (although source not 100% confirmed). Due to that incident, one friday nite, immigrations came to this popularly known 9ja bar restaurant (Goodie foodie) n few other african joints to burst darkys, they came wid big trucks, africans who were unable to provide their Icard or passport wid valid pass were taken directly to KLIA deportation camp. I was in Mac D dat night close to d restaurant wid my chinko chick, i was approached by 2 immi officers, showed my Icard they confirmed it instantly n they let me be. In some cases, even tho with your valid schl pass on your passport, immi officers will stil arrest u, just to check if its genuine n contact your school to come n bail u out., al cos u are darky. Well, dats racism. Malaysia is okay n peaceful. visas to other countries is easy n convenience to get compared to "Oh my God" a.k.a Nigeria. For intance, during semester holidays, its easy to apply for Australia visiting visa, tourism n all dat, provided your bank account is cool n u've gotten a letter frm your schl confirming u as a student.

Pls what is the approximate cost of living there as an undergraduate student(monthly rent, feeding, average undergraduate school fees and such). Is it true that most of their undergraduate courses runs for only 3 years?

To muyiwaprin ,

I was in Malaysia for about 3 years. So here is my analysis of the place and hopefully it will guide you and others before you make a decision to go to Malaysia.

Malaysia is quite developed. The infrastructure is great.Smooth roads, efficient public transport and many western food outlets like MaCdonalds,KFC Subway, wendy's among others.

Malaysia has 3 main races,Malays,Chinese and Indians.Malays are traditionally muslims. But,malaysia is a very relaxed country and islamic laws do not affect non-muslims.

getting jobs in malaysia as a foreigner is next to impossible.Students are not allowed to work while studying unless its within the school campus.

The few students jobs that are there are mainly in the hotel industry.(waitressing)The pay is poor and it will not help you sustain yourself.

Students from mostly Kenya and a few, from Nigeria, are into car rental services. They rent a car for a month and then subrent it to other students on a daily basis. This type of business is very lucrative because the demand of cars usually exceeds the supply.Especially on weekends when people want to go out clubbing. Many of my friends have become very well off in the car rental business. With some having a fleet of cars as many as 13.

As with other business the risks are quite high:

1. The business of subletting is technically illegal, since it is not registered and students are not allowed to do business. But enforcement of this law is virtually nonexistent.
2. Car accidents are very common with drunk students. And you may get into trouble once one of your cars gets into an accident with a drunk student.
3. car repair services in malaysia are very expensive. If the car is not insured, you may end up paying for all damages incurred in a car accident which may run into thousands of dollars.

Malaysia has many african students, with Nigerians making up the biggest percentage.Followed by Botswana, kenya and other East African countries.

Most students do not work, but depend on monthly allowance from parents.(with the exception of botswana students who get their allowance from the government).

Therefore, unless you will get into the car business, you will probably not find any work in malaysia.

But,if you are a really good Deejay, then you can find work easily as a dj in one of the clubs wich have weekly African nights.

Since you have indicated that you already have your malaysian visa, then i would advise you to concetrate on getting good grades to further your studies in other countries when your done with malaysia.

Most African students come to malaysia so as to find easy access to other countries. For example the British embassy in Malaysia will grant you a UK VISA within 5 days if all your documents are right.

15 kenyan students from my former college all got their VISA's in 4 days, when i was their 2 months ago.

Unfortunately it might be abit harder for you since you are Nigerian, but way easier than the lagos one.5 of my naija friends were denied their VISas in flimsy grounds.

But this should not discourage you,as long as your documents are good then you will get it.

In conclusion, think of Malaysia as a stepping stone to greater heights rather than the ends itself.

Otherwise good luck in your endeavors
