This is a right step in the right direction. It is a welcome development that the Fulani me are being talked to in order to solve the problem. Their people and their cattle were killed during the post election violence of the 2011 presidential election and this is the main reason for the recurring violence in the area and any attempt from the side of the government to talk to the fulanis and other ethnic groups is most welcomed.

The post election violence was carried out by who? Was it not Buhari's supporters that went on rampage killing those who they thought were responsible for his loss?

What about the youth service members who died in the fiasco. Have their family members migrated all over Nigeria to kill people on their farms and destroy their properties? Just look at the ctupid reason you're giving for justifying evil.

You start a fracas and maybe lose some of your own people in the trouble that you started and then blame the whole country for it?

Disgusting POS.

Obviously you think the lives of the the corpers is more important than that of the Fulanis but they don't think so. Since nobody deem it necessary to acknowledge their loses and offer them even simple condolence message the resultant retaliatory attacks are natural consequence. We have to change our mindset and accept the fact fact that live is sacrosanct whether it is that of the Fulani man or that of any other person.

Let me tell you most of the attacks you mentioned are a result of of the Fulani being attacked and nothing being done. The type of violence we are discussing Will continue unless we learn to respect the lives and properties of each other. El Rufai's action is the most realistic and practical step to end the crisis.

Who killed Fulani Cows in Bend, Enugu, Agatu, Ekiti, Okigwe and so on!!
As for me, unless Nigerians arm themselves against these useless urchins, they will continue to live in the shadow of terror.
Imagine what a shameless state governor is saying. Shameful.

all of you people shouting and beating your chest don't know what these Fulanis are capable of. they don't forget or forgive until you compensate them, they can raze 10 villages at once and they are very united when it comes to avenge. so keep your smelling mouth and let the Governor settle the matter.
The keyboard warriors do not understand this and that is why they continue to show their ignorance and insensitivity on the plight of the Fulani men. The Fulani herdsmen who live a nomadic live have advantage over the settled people when it comes to war. They retaliate to make a statement that you can't take advantage of their isolated brothers and attack them and go Scot free. They hardly attack first but when they are attacked they always retaliate no matter how long it takes.

To you they are urchins and foreigners but to them they are normal people who are engaged in legitimate economic activity. The thing is that they don't read this your type of comments and event if they somehow get across this type of comment they just laugh it off and continue with their normal life. The solution is simple do not take advantage of their isolation and attack them. Your suggestion for others to buy arms won't stop them from protecting themselves. The Fulani herdsmen do not live in permanent settlements, they have few material things to protect and their most valued possession i.e. cattle are mobile; so engaging them in a fight by settled people is counterproductive.

@bold, I think you should preach that to the Fulani you're so avidly defending. Is there any tribe in Nigeria who has more disregard for lives than them?

You went to kill people and died in the process and you want us to cry for you?

You're a joker.

Please maintain decorum. You Can continue to wallow in your ignorance. The fact that you hear only about Fulani attacks from media does not mean the Fulani are the ones attacking first. The Fulani are attacked because of the cows they owned and their isolatio. The Fulani do not attack to rob others of their properties or land and their attacks are retaliatory in nature.

is Nigeria this loose?
what happened to the borders?

how can people just stroll into another country like that even causing havoc in the process?

You actually expect a fulani dullard in power to close the borders to his brothers. A fulani from Senegal has more rights in this sh1t-hole than a yoruba from Ogun. But the ewedu-swallowing dolt just don't get it. Do they? They keep playing ostrich.

Suggest dividing the country so they can protect their borders and control their future, the ever-conquered ewedurians with stockholm syndrome will start convusling like epileptics. Shame!

So dey seem to only b attacked in d south or how com we only hear of d attacks dey carry out instead of attacks on dem? I guess their attacks in Benue, nasarrawa and Plateau is also as a result of attacking dem abi? Kip sympathizing with dem, mayb one day u'll really feel wat it means...

Southern borders aren't that loose. Past Northern leaders purposely made sure those borders are loose to accomodate those neighboring mvslim countries and boko boys have taken advantage of that . We aren't fools.

Fulanis have been doing this for centuries even before countries were created. They still move from country to country without proper documentation just because of this tradition. I think it's about time we strengthen our immigration regulatory force especially in the North because of its proximity to terrorist infected parts of Africa.

This nation is very funny and unserious, how can you pay terrorist money to stop killing your citizens instead of arresting them and make them to face the law.

Definitely wherever there is a problem, whether it is South, Benefits or southern Kaduna, involving the herdsmen you will find out that the settled communities tried to take advantage of them. The fact that they don't go to the media to report doesn't mean they were attacked first.

All I know is that the Fulani herdsmen didn't start the 2011 post elections violence because where they are in the bush election matter is not their priority. If you are desperate to know who started the violence do your research.

If you paid large sum of money to so called Fulani Herds men to stop further attacks on Southern Kaduna communities, how much have you paid thesame southern kaduna communities in hard currency for the hundreds of lives and property lost to the attackers

Why do we always feel we can stop crime by compensating those that are crime makers?

What are the compensation given to those that inspite of the batteredness and tearing ceased to arm carrying?

tongue tongue tongue tongue tongue tongue

Buhari brazenly defers, defends, propagates the interests of the Fulanis. He does not send any one about whose interests he works for. He is a saint.
Nnamdi Kanu seeks the interest of the Igbos and he is in jail.
Ken Saro-Wiwa sought for the interests of his Ogoni people and was killed.
When you speak up for your people, you are tribalistic.
When El Rufai speaks arrogantly about the Fulanis he is a statesman.
Welcome to Nigeria a land built on hypocrisy and double standards.

This comming from a state governor typifies everything wrong with Nigeria.
Firstly, the midget recognises the porousity of our borders and makes it sound legit for aliens from other countries to transverse Nigeria unhindered. So our immigration laws does not affect the fulanis from other african countries? Wow! what a country! Hypocrisy will not kill us.
Secondly, when did we start paying criminal aliens for crimes committed on our soil? Even if they are aggrieved are'nt there legal means of seeking redress than the continued maiming and killings by the so called aliens? I thought our laws frowns at taking laws into one's hand.
If anything, El rufai has just confirmed the conspiracy of FULANI AGENDA by his statements. We shall surely get to the tips someday, size ourselves squarely on the battle field, spill enough bl**d that will last us centuries to come and be forced to see every other human life as important as ours. Every other condition in life is transcient. El rufai, we are not fooled but we will wait and see. angry sad cool

Coming from a notorious fulani governor in Northwest zone that sends his compatriots to kill and maim people he considers "unequals" , i can only say you should pay them for working for you. The same way southern states pay their civil servants for working for them
