I just did my research and I found out that a 4-6 week prenatal human is not a fetus, therefore does not have a life, it's just a blood clot and nothing more. So abortion should be allow from 1-2 months, not the 3rd month of pregnancy....go and do a medical research about fetus. Thank you http://blogs.plos.org/dnascience/2013/10/03/when-does-a-human-life-begins-17-timepoints/ mpowa: 1 Like |

ItsQuinn: Life begins when the egg is fertilised by the sperm. Various contraceptives prevent this fertilisation from taking place, else there will be a lot of ethical issues to be resolved. It is the fertilised egg that eventually becomes the baby. Save yourself all the heartaches in future and preserve the life of the unborn. Say yes to life |

Timbuktuo:FYI, women are striving and breaking through even with all the misogyny, I'm not sure if the whole of the 1999 constitution was amended but I do know that, a large part of it was discriminatory against women, y'all talk like misogyny never even happened at all. The religions of your country are blawdy misogynistic, yet here you are asking me to prove something to you. It's true that the world is made some progress since the days of old, but then, culture's being passed down from generation to generation, so there's no way a new generation won't carry some part of the old with it. Fact remains, there was need for feminism, and more work is still needed because there's still some misogyny left in the world. |

That reminds me.....What can you say about the situation the Nigerian women footballers are facing now? The men are being paid while the women work their butt off to be at the top and didn't get paid or earn anything because they are females GodsLastBorn: |
Re: Feminism: Operationally Contradictory? by Nobody: 8:12am On Dec 14, 2016 |
sweetcocoa: Timbuktuo has been incarcerated. My sister, stop all this wailings of misogyny and oppression. The 1999 constitution discriminated bothbfor and against both genders. It is a flawed but nuanced constitution. It attempts to be fair to both sides, the loopholes therein are a result of a rushed work, and it definitely needs amendment(read: upgrading). What is this misogyny that seeks to hold women back that you speak of? Would you say some systemic patriarvhy plan has kept you from pursuing and achieving your dreams? If so, could you enlighten me on what these are? Yes feminism has helped the case for women, and in truth, that's what it really is; an ideology that seeks to further the welfare and interests of women. I have no problem with that, my problem with them is lying that it seeks to equalise both genders. And that's the point where you lose most people. In my opinion, you guys should just come out and say feminism is designed to help women. 1 Like |

sweetcocoa: Development, creativity, innovation, the bridges you ride on, the skyscrapers you call office every morning, the cars you drive in, the expensive laptop you sport to work and back, the television you watch everyday, the house you live in, the websites you visit everyday, the phones and gadgets you operate everyday and what have you were and are still being built by men. Despite scholarships and efforts aimed at increasing women, men still dominate overwhelmingly in science, engineering and technology. Several studies have shown that women naturally gravitate towards more socialized courses or courses that involve sociology and men naturally gravitate towards courses involving critical thinking. Of course you often find people of each gender defying the expectation. Differences in hormonal make-up is largely said to account for this disparity. This is no post to say men are superior or whatsoever but my point is men continue to be better at doing certain things and women better than men in doing some other things. It doesn't make any gender more superior to the other. We genders are different and designed differently and there's more difference to men and women beyond just genital organs. The sooner we begin to realize our differences and accept our talents the better. Both genders are there to complement each other and not compete unnecessarily with each other. Agreed, feminism was a movement aimed at improving economic welfare and rights for women. However, the modern view of feminism has evolved into something else sort of like a measuring contest were certain women measure their self worth in being able to do what men can do and are ignoring or leaving behind their own talents. To some feminists, their goal is to see themselves as 'superior' to men, or 'men are irrelevant', or 'men are the devils, women are the angels', etc. They pull out statistics of sorts or write articles to promote their idea of supremacy against men as if that gives some sort of satisfaction. Nowadays, we have women who no longer want to be women but become men instead. |

ItsQuinn:My dear similar faith have been dished to many male and female athletes that are representing, represented and yet to represent Nigeria, our government is full of bunch of half evolved Orang utang, gorillas and donkeys that's why the nation is where it is today so its not just a female thing. Do you recall how the athletes that went for the Brazil 2016 Olympic were treated? its painful, depressing and unimaginable that after one have dropped tears, sweat and blood for his or her nation they end up being treated like this by bunch of imbeciles that keeps appointing themselves in important position. Anybody that doesn't find our government nauseating is raving mad. I despise politicians and politics like nothing in this universe. My point, its not just oppression on females but the result of having baboons in charge of human beings smfdh. 1 Like 1 Share |

sweetcocoa:Being human is not the bone of contention here at all or have men been mating with goats to reproduce offsprings? Females and males are amazing (when they play their role well) but both are not equal in rights or anything and can never be the sooner most people living in cuculand realize this the better. Nature, God, society doesn't support it and even you sweetcocoa honestly don't want to be treated as equal as a man. |

Re: Feminism: Operationally Contradictory? by bigfrancis21: 9:01pm On Dec 14, 2016 |
sweetcocoa: Ya I'm serious, especially among black american women here in the US. From dressing to attitude, it has become the hippie thing to look and act like men. Black american women hardly wear a skirt or dress anymore. Infact it is easier for Tyler Perry to wear a gown than a black american woman to do the same. |
Re: Feminism: Operationally Contradictory? by bigfrancis21: 9:07pm On Dec 14, 2016 |
Let me add also that men may seem to have more rights historically, mainly because more responsibilities were expected from them, thus the more rights. Much more was expected from men to do than women. Another impression of feminism is that feminists want the rights of men but don't want the responsibilities that come with being a man. For eg, feminists want the rights men have in regular settings - in the office etc. but in committing a crime, for example, they try to get reduced judgment because they are women. 1 Like 1 Share |
Re: Feminism: Operationally Contradictory? by GodsLastBorn: 11:03pm On Dec 14, 2016 |
sweetcocoa: None are worth addressing because they are facts every honest, reasonable human being should know already. Nature: Males and females cannot be equal here due to a lot if things like testosterone in males than females, females have to menstruate and can't do some certain things during their period whereby no menstruation in males, females' moods swings worst than a team of an untrained baseball players while males have better grip of their moods, males are naturally built to be stronger than females, females are likely to be emotional while males are likely to be logical, females are likely to cower in certain dangerous situations while males are likely to confront the dangerous situation. God: Females have the gifts to nurture, care, understand and basically help males while males are to protect, care, provide, love and more for their adorable females. We are to go out there hunt and bring it to you ladies to prepare, we're to protect you guys from any sort of harm even if its a ferocious beast that can kill us, its naturally encoded in us to defend you females be it mom, wife, sis or daughter. Society: Men are pumped into the war fronts while women are asked to stay back, females are the first to be taken care of in drastic situations ( take Titanic ship sinking for e.g) while the men are to help the women escape the dangers thereby being left at the mercy of the terrible outcome of the situation but you "feminists" won't ask for equality here. Most if the time when a females puts her hands on an male the male is expected to deal with it but if the male tries it other males around might beat him up and protect the female without knowing or caring whether she's at fault. This and that for the girl child, what about the male child? so the male child don't matter? millions of advantages that you females have but the thing in you all will still make you guys to want or demand more hahahahhahss and even if all the current things you all ask for are given to you guys I guarantee that tomorrow maybe you all will want all males to be slaves and do every single thing you guys want. Some dumb mofos now want a greeting or a "hi" from males to be classified/charged as sexual assault, WTF!? you females have so many advantages but still want the little ones that males got? Most of you females are crazy but we can't do without you ladies yet. You catch my drift now? |
Re: Feminism: Operationally Contradictory? by sweetcocoa(f): 7:42am On Dec 15, 2016 |
GodsLastBorn:Catch drift ke? I can't even make head or tail of your post. I asked how nature is against men and women having equal rights and you are talking of testosterone and oestrogen, menstruation and mood swings, talking about likely to be emotional and likely to be logical, seriously? Abeg I don big pass this kind argument. |
Re: Feminism: Operationally Contradictory? by sweetcocoa(f): 7:48am On Dec 15, 2016 |
bigfrancis21:You seem to not get my point, what you call "acting like men" is a construct of society, your example of AA women no longer wearing skirts comes to mind, who is to say trousers are for men? |
Re: Feminism: Operationally Contradictory? by GodsLastBorn: 8:24am On Dec 15, 2016 |
sweetcocoa:nature gave guys more "advantages" which negates equality between the two and not rights for crying out loud. Smh |
Re: Feminism: Operationally Contradictory? by sweetcocoa(f): 8:32am On Dec 15, 2016 |
GodsLastBorn:Lmao @ more advantages. You said men and women aren't and can never be equal in rights, saying nature doesn't support it, I ask how, you mention hormones negating it because women menstruate, how does not menstruating give men an advantage over women? |
Re: Feminism: Operationally Contradictory? by GodsLastBorn: 8:45am On Dec 15, 2016 |
sweetcocoa:how does menstruation give men advantage? when you guys are menstruating most of you guys are in pains and can't be 100% (some cry, some miserable and all over the place) but men don't deal with such issues. you have to wear pampers(pads) or else you will embarrass yourselves but men don't have to deal with these. A girl embarrassed herself while in the pool sometime ago that everyone had to leave the pool for her and the shame won't even let her get out of the pool. Can that happen to a guy? staining yourselves with blood. Guys don't have to worry about bleeding in the pool, on the road, or anywhere as a result of menstruation or the pains and embarrassment that comes with it and can swim anytime they want, don't have to spend money on pads. |

Re: Feminism: Operationally Contradictory? by GodsLastBorn: 10:26am On Dec 15, 2016 |

Re: Feminism: Operationally Contradictory? by sweetcocoa(f): 10:48am On Dec 15, 2016 |
GodsLastBorn:Talking about having an advantage over women because you don't menstruate is something I can't begin to wrap my head around, like saying you don't have to spend money on sanitary pads, like seriously? This is something worth discussing? Hian! |

Re: Feminism: Operationally Contradictory? by bigfrancis21: 8:19pm On Dec 18, 2016 |
ItsQuinn: But women sports such as women football or basketball does not attract much attention as male sports do. Even many ladies would rather go to a male sporting event than a female one. With less audience comes less money made. Biologically speaking, males are generally stronger than females strength-wise, and thus they excel well in sports, bringing the needed attention and also the money. It's business. |
Re: Feminism: Operationally Contradictory? by bigfrancis21: 8:27pm On Dec 18, 2016 |
sweetcocoa: Remember that societal construct for genders was developed over the centuries according to the natural characteristics and differences between men and women arising from biological differences. So let me ask this, what's wrong in the idea of different but equal? Why do some women derive their self-worth in trying to do what men are naturally poised to do? Let me reverse the situation, in the spirit of gender equality men should start attempting childbirth, taking that role from women and doing things that women naturally do better than men, what do you think the society will become? |
