Continue deceiving urself.MMM will never provide funds to offset backlogs. The people who are lucky to have been paid by newcomers b4 the freezing are not definitely goiing to reinvest untill all these panic period comes down, some other wise one who invested for specific purposes would have diverted thieir funds to such and rate of new investors will definitely reduce and as such expect more cries come January when some peoples due payments cannot be made.

But their money is not in MMM. Their money has been given away to participants who joined MMM earlier than them, including the organizers of MMM and the top guiders who withdrew millions just before MMM crashed. The money you see when you log into the MMM website does not exist anywhere. It's not in any bank account. It's just numbers on a computer, which is no better than your likes on Nairaland. If MMM is reactivated in January, everyone will immediately try to get help and and it won't work because nobody would be stupid enough to provide help.

Oga OP, you obviously participated in the scheme, so stop trying too hard to appear disinterested. I see as you attack EVERYONE that has a negative view to MMM grin
This is entirely your business anyway. You forgot to include the 4th set of group of people affected by MMM- our dear participants, the GPA (greedy people's association) and the unscrupulous. This scheme has revealed the majority of our people to be blatant hypocrites and cheats. Yes! Only a cheat, a thief, takes money that doesn't belong to him and feigns ignorance of the source. You don't sell a product or offer a service but you accept 30% as returns on investment? And you see nothing morally wrong with the transaction to boot? Not everyone who speaks out is envious of your petty profit, some people do have a sense of wrong vs right in the end, even if we don't always choose what is right.
MMM exposed how gullible, lazy and generally imbalanced a large number of Nigerians are, even those posturing as adherents of one religion or another.
Keep praying for your beloved MMM to unfreeze come January. And before you and your ilk come baying for blood, just explain to us, in one sentence, how your money increases by 30% during the PH, GH, FH or WTH you folks call it. grin grin

I fall under the second category, not because I don't want people to progress but because I hate laziness and idleness.
When I see people working hard and making money, I praise and commend them not the ones who borrow money to do MMM and then sit in their houses doing nothing.
If these schemes are allowed to continue, it will affect the economy negatively; I don't think anybody will want to work for a month and earn 30k as salary when they can sit at home and get that same 30k doing nothing.
If every petty trader decides to leave their businesses to partake in these schemes, then I wonder who would be left to sell petty things.

Well said. I hate laziness but the fools in MMM dont understand.

The poster Na big time pro-MMM....do people know the history of MMM? MMM is just like money doubler.....
victorking:

An illiterate created the biggest forum in africa which has benefitted so many people. Am sure the so called MMM that you just insulted him for, some people joined it by virtue of hearing of it on Nairaland. What he just analysed is the truth and not ignorance. Even if his assumptions dont come to reality in January, it will come to reality one day. People talk about the 30% forgetting that 10% is paid on referrals, 3%-10% is paid on video testimonies, then guider and leadership bonuses. These all comes from money not invested anywhere.
If you think am also ignorant, i will tell you a little about myself as someone who has worked directly with the owners of wonder banks in 2008 to 2010, as someone who has invested in forex wonder investment schemes, invested in hyips, and so many more...

You don't understand. Even if comes back to life as you say, it will eventually fail. You obviously have internet. Leave that porn page and do a little research. You'll be better of.
fkdmods:

Out of everything you wrote, this is the only thing that really caught my attention. You say you did not participate in the ponzi scheme but as i see it, you should have. You have the mentality for it. It is always funny when i see people using God to justify or cover up their ignorance. "That's Satan's way of doing things, not God. Never God" Lol. People blame the devil mostly when common sense does not dwell in them. e.g, you drive a car with no fire extinguisher or insurance. It burns down or get's stolen and the next thing you hear is "the devil is a liar/God will do it". God nor the devil did not push Nigerians into MMM. Greed and ignorance did. That anyone should be told that a multi level pyramid scheme will fail is flabbergasting to me. If Nigerians had bothered to do a little research they would have been informed that in every country MMM has been, they have failed or about to fail. But no. They'd rather use their MB to twit and facebook about useless things. Every single person who losses money because of MMM deserves it. Next time, they will not let greed take over their senses.
mpowa:
I didn't do MMM and I don't care about those who did it. I was invited many times but i can't ever do such a program, it's not for me.
I can never be jealous of any man's success because, simple question - How does it affect me negatively?
Did I join the warning Crew? Yes, lightly just as someone who loves contributing to social discuss
It wasn't my business when they're making the doe, it's also not my business now when they're loosing it
Of all warning, the one that I was shocked people didn't heed to was the one MMM put on the website themselves
"USE YOUR SPARE MONEY" , it's a clear warning but as usual, my people used, School fees, House rent, Salary and very important project money.
I hope people learn their lessons, no matter how much you loose, life goes on! No amount is worth your life, if you choose to stay alive, you can still make 100 times the money you lost, my advice STAY ALIVE!

MMM is one of the smartest ponzi schemes I've ever encountered. Gives you a sense of belonging by calling you Mavrodians. Gives high returns making it too tempting to refuse. Promises to equalise wealth and destroy financial injustice.

Those of you saying it has helped you, do you know that someone is crying right now and contemplating suicide because of this scheme? His or her luck right? Do you think this society will ever be the same again after MMM?

This is becoming boring, everybody saying the same thing at the same time. I invested a spare 10k in the scheme and am yet to get help, I have prepared my mind for a likely crash and all I stand to gain is just 3k
Which is just fuel money. Like in football betting keep greed away and you'll be fine. Why will I invest all my salary or project money, that's is plain stupid, if it comes back, all good, if it doesn't then all good at least I blessed someone with 10k

The biggest mistake MMM participants made about the scheme is that someone out there is trying to bring them down. When the scheme was bound to fail in the end, for God's sake you can't take money from A and give to B without creating value, and expect the system to run forever, whwt happens when it's saturated?. It was this very foundational problem that made people detest those who participated in the scheme, not jealousy or another person trying to change his financial status by taking money from someone else like you said.. the annoying thought that Nigerians were clouded by greed and couldn't think beyond the moment was what got me mad .

The MMM Ponzi schemers took advantage of the confusion to create an "us" versus "them" war between MMMites and the govt., Media etc and made them believe that it was the later that was the problem. Let me say it again , no reputable business operates in a country without registration, or paying tax, no business shuts down its operation abruptly and tell customer it would resume next year without atleast a months notice.

No apologies to those who lost their money, they deserved what they got, they refused to heed to warnings. They failed to learn from experience from neighborhing countries like SA and Zimbabwe. MMM is never coming back up, learn and move on. No guider got an atom of clue what's happening, don't be fooled they know nothing. They would only try to raise your hopes but they know it's gone....

after this ur epistle now, who now ask you for an apology? Oh you just want to be noticed. Ok attention given. Now can u go and sit down? Thank you for your atotonu.

...Finally, I hope the scheme comes up in January -- it should actually -- so that people can pull their money.

Writer: Eke Diligence.

I was with you until you made that last final statement. Except for that post, which I think is myopic, the rest of your comments are logical.

MMM gives people 30% of their investment as profit. MMM does not invest these capital, they do not grow these capitals, etc...These profits are directly drawn from new members' contribution.

I see that, you are sympathetic to the people whose money are currently frozen and just like you, I wish they get their money back, but the bitter truth is, in MMM some people MUST lose their money, so even if MMM is unfrozen in January, either the new members will lost their money, or the members that follows....where will it stop? It is not sustainable.

Now, this is the catch-22; if you tell new members not join because you do not want them to lose their money and fine themselves in this current situation down the road... then you are hypocritical in wanting MMM to be unfrozen in January as it can't be unfrozen unless there are influx of new money/investments.....and if you want new/old members to join/invest, so MMM can be unfrozen for people to get their money, you are still hypocritical in not extending your sympathetic to the new members/investments that will eventually lose their money.

The only cure for this, is for everyone who have benefited to return their 30%, but we both know, this is not possible outside some governmental intervention. Simply telling to reinvest their 30% profit each time, since they now have their capital is not also possible, because it defeats the whole purpose of joining the scheme in the first place, which is to make some profit. If the whole purpose of taking this huge risk is to get one's capital back, I might as well dug it in the ground behind my house, I get the same end result, but without the risk.

The truth is, as much as I sympathized with these people, my opinion which worth nothing is... you do not win in every single investment; you lose some days, you win other days; chalk this up to your lost day, pick up yourself and move on.
