People get married and make vow they are not prepared/capable to fulfil. "promises are no substitute for preparation"

Now is the time to prepare, a lack of preparation cannot be trump by a promise.
So lets go through these few steps to prepare

FOR MEN

1. BECOME RESPONSIBLE

Ideally we men set the pace/in charge of every relationship, it's paramount we act responsible (Read 1cor 13:11)
We are born natural leaders, the nation, family depends on our maturity level.

It's unfortunate we have some men in adult body who think like boys.

2. CHANGE THE LABEL YOU GIVE LADIES

women are viewed, presented, talked about and sung about like a commodity.
Brothers if you have any songs on your playlist that contains vulgar words like b**ch, wh**e. GET RID OF IT.

If you continue to entertain yourself with such terms used to label women, guess what you subconsciously give yourself permission to treat women
Obviously like the label you call Women.

3. STOP VIEWING ERROTIC IMAGERY

When you entertain yourself (guys we all guilty of these, some ladies too ) with pishaw of naked women, you are at school.

In this school you are learning three things.

a. A real body isn't good enough

b. One body isn't good enough

c. Your (future) Wife's body isn't good enough

you might argue I don't hurt anybody watching porn, yea you dont...but it's bad for your mind, future marriage and its even a sin (for Christians).

Scientifically too much porn weakens your desire for real women.

Fellas if you look forward to a great romantic relationship with a woman you need to drop out of that School.

4. RENEW YOUR MIND
Andy stanley is the originator of these idea, take a year OFF dating to renew your mind with the steps ABOVE, the thing is 3 months or more in, you might find the woman of your dreams.

Change the way you think about women and the way you treat women.

N.B - These steps are not for players, but for those who are serious in settling down with their soul mate.

FOR WOMEN

1. Don't dress like a commodity or put up being treated like one.
Let me borrow a fishing terminology...Do you know what a Fisher man determines to bait his hook with when he goes fishing?

Obviously the kind of Fish he wants to Catch.

So ladies if you go fishing with your body, you'll catch body snatchers

Start practicing the perks of being a Virtuous woman till it becomes habitual.

FOR BOTH

1. GET OUT OF DEBT
You can get out of debt more easier when unmarried than when married.

2. BREAK YOUR BAD HABITS
Marriage was not created to solve any problems.
In marriage the great things get better and the bad things could get worse it doesn't guarantee to solve any problems.
So if you have a bad habit know then, you are gonna have a bad habit and be married.
So if you drink too much now, it might get worse.
If you got gambling thing, it Might get worse.
Likewise for porn addiction.

3. POSTPONE THE PHYSICAL COMPONENT OF YOUR DATING RELATIONSHIPS ALAP (As long as Possible -No sex before marriage)
See dating as a means to an incredible end. not just to exploit/experiment short term euphoria.

4. AVOID LIVING TOGETHER BEFORE MARRIAGE
There is no evidence that living together prepares on for marriage.

5. GET INVOLVED IN YOUR LOCAL CHURCH
You need to be serve in a local church, because in serving you are more likely to meet people who's lifestyle, flows, passion, patterns, behaviour and ways arebin sync with the one you are trying to establish.

CONCLUSION!!!

At the end of the day, you get to do it right by the grace of God.
No matter what you've done wrong in the past, by applying these principles you get to make decisions now that will enable you stand out in an ALTAR and say "I do" and be able to "I do" and to say "I will" and be able to actually "I will"
Make commitment to the process of becoming someone Worth pursuing, Worth winning, Worth Loving.
Become the person that the person you are looking for is looking for.
If you do that, Thats a Win for YOU, your FAMILY, for OUR GENERATION and a Wn for the CHURCH OF GOD.
