I have been watching with keen interest some comments credited to some people of bad conscience with respect to the health status of President Muhammadu Buhari. In fact, I am yet to come to terms with the fact that some living things that called themselves humans have been trying so hard to convince their evil minds that Mr. President is dead even when they are neither the Doctor that “certified” him dead nor an attendant in the mortuary that watches over his “corpse”.

The questions I beg to ask are: Who want Buhari dead? What purpose will it serve should Buhari die (God forbid)?

Who Benefits Should Anything Happen To Buhari?
I have taken my time to study the political environment and dynamics of Nigeria, and I came to conclusion that should anything happen to President Muhammadu Buhari (God forbid), there will be NO beneficiary in the real sense.

While some may argue that the Vice/Acting President Yemi Osinbajo will naturally stand to benefit due to elevation to the number 1 seat, the reality is that he will be frustrated by kinsmen and supporters of Mr. President, as lots of conspiracy theories will fly round. Under such condition, he will neither have the peace of mind to discharge his duties nor will it enjoy the support of Buhari kinsmen should he seek a term in 2019. In fact, the political environment will be polarized beyond imagination.

Of course, we all know that the demise of a President will NEVER be to the benefit of the opposition party. This is because the constitution doesn’t allow for fresh election upon the demise of a President/Governor but permits the Vice/Deputy, a member of the ruling party to succeed the boss without recourse to the opposition. This simply means neither PDP nor any opposition stand to gain should anything happen to Buhari. In addition to this, the ruling party will always placate supporters and tribesmen of the President and use sympathy vote to win 2019 (just like GEJ/PDP did in 2011).

Why then should people wish for the demise of Mr. President? How inhuman can some living things that pretend to be humans be? Should parochial/political inclination blind our sense of brotherly love and humanity?

Buhari’s State Of Health:
I will want to believe that the President is in safe condition irrespective of the wishful thinking of some group of people that doesn’t wish well to the country. If his spokespeople insist that the President is doing well, I think it is appropriate for Nigerians of good conscience to believe the report and wish safe health to Buhari.

Nobody is a custodian of life, only God determines who live and who should return to the dust. Our duty is to pray for safe health always but we must NEVER play God. In fact, there are lots of precedents to point that people who wish death to others without cause usually die before those they wish. I will refrain from citing instances because I wouldn’t want to hurt anyone, nevertheless. We should be mindful of what we wish others.

Muhammadu Buhari is first a human, husband, and father before being a President. Nobody will be happy reading/seeing death rumours/wishes of his/her relative(s). I am sure that carriers of the Buhari death rumour will go amok if another person tries it on their fathers and other relatives. We shouldn’t play politics with human life.

I was glad when the Chairman of PDP, HE Senator Ahmed Markafi during the expanded Caucus meeting yesterday prayed for safe health of President Buhari, that shows maturity of the party under his leadership.

Make no mistake, I am not a fan of the administration, and I believe that we deserve a better deal, but I will never wish for such through death of the President irrespective of what some of the President’s supporters may/might have wished others in the past. Instead, the ballot box should be the vehicle for change in government. Only those with insanity will wish otherwise.

I wish Mr. President good health and long life beyond the expiration of his Presidency.

May God Bless Us All And Bless Nigeria

As soon as I saw in your post " Irrespective of what some of Buhari's supporters might have wished another in the past", I was happy that at least you sound rational. The truth is that Nigeria has never got this low in the name of politics. Buhari and his supporters started it during the last administration. Buhari sees nothing good in the opposition, but you and I know there are many things they did right. It's actually very immoral to wish anyone death but it's very difficult to convince many out there at this point of Nigeria political evolution. Buhari as a man don't talk as if he wishes his enemies well. You just quoted PDP national chairman praying for the president, can you in sincerity prove to me that Buhari can do that when he was in opposition group, not even now he is in top gear of his vindictive mission. The people I blame most is the hailers who see noting wrong in justifying every action of Buhari. I don't know if you can convince the Shite group to pray for Buhari, what tone would you use to beg the families of the unarmed IPOB members unjustly killed by Buhari without remorse and justified by nairaland members including you to pray for Buhari? Time will fail me to mention the Agatu's, the Enugu people, the southern Kaduna's whose relatives were slaughtered by Buhari brothers without a blink from the presidency. This and many more are the reasons revengful Nigerians are erroneously happy about the President's state of health. But as a Christian I only pray that irrespective of his evil acts, may the good Lord save him and give him sound health to at least come and finish what he started, amen

Buhari and Death Wishers

By Emmanuel Ogbeche

Since the rumoured death of President Muhammadu Buhari in London from a yet-to-be determined source, Nigerians have been further divided – the death wishers and those repudiating them.

Ordinarily, I won’t indulge myself in the enterprise of looking at the unwarranted situation if not for the godly intervention of Pastor Tunde Bakare, Senior Pastor of the Latter Rain Assembly, Lagos, and the army of those who have used the opportunity to advance their Cathedral of Hypocrisy and announce their religiosity.

The controversial pastor was quoted to have said: “For everyone wishing for the death of President Muhammad Buhari, the President will attend his/her funeral.”

Wow! This is supposed to be a man of God joining the league of death wishers of a fellow human.

Now, because the average Nigerian is given to visceral reasoning, the social media has become a crusade of sanctimonious preachments of how it is ungodly to wish the death of another human.

To be candid, as a citizen I do not know what I feel for the president. I do not wish him death, neither do I wish him life, because that is the prerogative of the Divine. As a Christian it is my ecclesiastical endeavor to pray for his good, and hope that my prayers are answered.
For some of those who profess to be Christians, and have taken the battle cry against those who have voiced their elation at the passing of the president, it is sheer grandstanding. Some of these very persons continually pray for their enemies to die. Are those enemies not in human form, or are merely some spirits that your vivid imagination conjures?

Does the Bible not command you to pray for all men, even to wish that the Lord will prepare a table for you in the presence of your enemies?
It is trite to say that most Nigerians see President Buhari as their enemy. What would you tell the IPOB member who has seen his kith and kin, his comrade in the Biafran dream mowed down for no other reason than the fact that he has a right to agitate that the president is dead and he would not rejoice?

How can you convince the people of Southern Kaduna, Agatu, Shi’ites whose kindred have been killed senselessly and legion of others who have become economic destitute not to habour the ‘vile’ wish of the president’s death?

I remember with clarity the day Mallam Nasir el-Rufa’I embarked on the demolition of illegal structures in the Federal Capital Territory at Accra Street. One of the first structures pulled down was a Church. The church members refused to salvage any of their property despite entreaties for them to do so. All the while, they were at a corner hurling down heavenly asteroids and bombs on the minister to die and all those who were carrying out the demolition.

Why have I told this story? There are some matters that are not debatable if we are a people given to rigorous thought. Unfortunately, we are more enamoured of our religious piety without the corresponding moral fibre to engender a more progressive and humane society.
Who says wishing the president death is any less sin than engaging in sexual immorality; fornication, adultery and ignoring the poor and homeless? Some people wish their “enemies” a fate far terrible than death in their hearts.

Besides, Nigeria’s recent history compels such falsehood when you couch the president’s true state of health in some nebulous statement. Now that we know that the president is alive and making phone calls and watching Channels TV, can we hold him to his promise of ending medical tourism? Can we demand of him to see the world class specialists we have in our country? Can we demand more openness, tolerance and accountability of him?

Enough of the false moral monuments.

Hypocrite. You said "those who wish another death without any cause....."

Who said we want him dead with no reason ? He has killed many, not even wishing them death. He has killed brothers, fathers, sisters, children of many. Is his life more special than those or are his relatives more special than relatives of thos killed ?

Does it even look like buhari wishes us well with his system of ruling ? Is it not "u can go to hell" character he has been exhibiting which is exactly what we pray divinity helps us achieve on his head since we mere mortals can hardly do that.

So were Idi Amin and Adolf Hitler. I don't know since when being a husband or father became a justification for anything.

The Shiites and the Southern Kaduna and IDP bombing victims were also people's sisters, brothers, fathers and mothers as well.

The fact that most Nigerians wish him dead only means that he has failed his people in every sense of the word.

Who wouldn't wish death to a person who turns a blind eye to the genenocide being commited agaisnt innocent people by fulani herdsmen?

What action did he take to punish those who killed innocent refugees and tagged it as mistake?

See let me tell you something, Nigerians aren't so wicked enough to wish their president dead especially if they supported and voted him.

The truth is that Nigerians are so not happy with his administration.
