A knock at the door (gong... Gong...), frank reply

FrANK: " who be dat ", frank asked as he tried to peep through to see mary standing. Frank called her in. She passed frank and walk to the bed to relaxed.

FRANK: " you look worried, whats wrong? ", he asked as he noticed that mary was in deep thought.

MARY: " something happened to me, thats why am here ", mary said lookin up to frank.

She beckon on frank to seat so that they can discuss why she is so worried. Frank came closer and sat beside mary. Mary counted the ceilling before she openly explained what happened to her.

FRANK: " so is that why you reached down here just to fine a place for your hiding ?", he asked raising his voice at mary.

MARY: " no oh!, not like that. i came here to inform you. Thats all ", mary said shaking her head for denials.

FRANK: " And where have you been ?, i came to your place but could'nt find you you at home. Mary For God sake...!!! you left your two kid sisters at home without giving them food !. I dont know what as gotten over you! "

Mary got angry and walk out on frank . She angryly banged the door hard behind her. It was dark by the time mary came out,(8:30pm evening), she was filled with grieve, thinking, and worried for she didnt know were to rest her head that night.
Few moments after she had thought of where to sleep, a guy opposite franks room opened his door and mary ran to meet him.

MARY : " good evening", she greeted.

SAM: " evening, how are you ?".

MARY: " am not feeling fine oh!"

SAM: "why are you out here, and you look so worried and rough ".

Mary explain everything that happened to her and why she needed help from him.

SAM: " so why dont you sleep in franks shelter? "

MARY: " hell no!, i cant go in there. We had a misunderstanding "

SAM: " OK, you may sleep here for tonight , and pls do find way to settle your misunderstanding "

MARY: " i promised to do so", she said and entered sam's room.

Sam room was a well furnished small self content, he only had few things like tv set, a family size foam, a standing fan and cooking utensils. It was beautiful .
Sam came in immediately mary entered the room, they seat to chat for sometimes before sam excuse mary to go out and urinate. Sam went outside to take his shaking thing (alomo). Mary move to sam bed and throw her body on it without undressing herself, she yawn and later fell asleep. Sam came in after he had finished smoking to see mary sleeping, he carefully walk slowly to the bathroom and take his bath. By 12:30pm in the night, sam came out from the bathroom and bang the bathroom door hard. Mary jolted up from her slumber to see sam stand in front of her the way God first created adam (naked ). Mary opened her mouth wide in amazement...

The strang man passed him by and walk outside the small hurt.
Peter sat down on the bench and recalled the event that took place between him and mary. He remembered how mary threw the iron bucket at him. Peter clear his throat and took in a deep breath while looking in the air, he made a sigh and relaxed himself back on the bench and slept off.
Meanwhile, peter village wasn't far
from the stream and neither was the strange man hurt far from the stream too.
Sooner, peter manage to wake up from his slumber, he was a little bit strengthen, he could stand on his feet and He move around the small room. The strange man came back with something he brought from his outing, when he was about entering the hurt from the exit, peter quickly ran to sleep back the same position he was as at the time the man left him. The strange man drop the bag and approach to check on peter.

STRANGER: " young boi, how are you feeling now? ", the man asked while touching peter on his head.

PETER: " Am now fine papa ?", he said trying to seat erect on the wood bench.

STRANGER: " Well i went out there to kill a rabbit for you to eat, and i also brought some herp for your treatment " he said as he tried to open up the sack bag.

PETER: " So papa pls tell me for how long have i been fainting ?", he asked looking at the man face as if he read the question from there.

STRANGER: " This is making the third day of your staying here, in this hurt ", he answered.

PETER: " What!", he shouted in amazement while standing up.

The old man left him there and advance to where he can set fire to roast the rabbit. The man prepared the rabbit for meat and serve peter. After the meal, peter informed the old man that he was leaving. When peter stood up to depart, he moved to the man

PETER: " Thank you papa for the treatment and the kind hospitality you offered me. I really appreciate you for your kindness "

The man exchange hands with peter, and her directed peter the track that leads to the main road to the stream.

"papa i have something to tell you, how i nearly got killed, but time is not really on my side now because my parents will be searching for me. I promise to visit you when am free and fully healed to explain what happened to me ", peter informed the man and walk out into the tick bush.
Mary on the other hand was scared of what will become of her for the deadly act she nearly committed. She move around the house up and down feeling uncomfortable to stay. She decided to report the case to frank, but she first prepare herself and headed out to franks house. Her motives of going to franks place brought about another misery.....

Obviously mary would have taken peter life that afternoon. She shouted for help but no one came around and neither did anybody saw her knocked peter down with the iron bucket. Mary looked back and front and found no sign of witness, she took to her heel.
Peter was lying by the bush side bleeding non-stop from a deep hold on his forehead. By that time, he had already fainted, while mary abscond for her life. A good samaritan who passed by, saw peter lying unconsciously by the bush, the man kindly took peter to his small hurt in the farm far away from where he lay.
Peter was hospitalized by the man that found him by the road side leading to the stream. Peter was served with fruits, and he was also treated to stop the blood from rushing. Peter moan for pains as he slightly lifted up his head to see himself lay down on a wooden bench, and an old man was squating closer to a fire in front of him.

PETER: " What brought me to this deserted room ?", he shouted at the old man


STRANGER: " My name is igwe, am a hunter, you are welcome to where i live ", the man said still arranging the fire woods.

PETER: " igwe!, or what ever you just called yourself, you haven't answered my question oh, why am i here ?" peter asked looking worried.

STRANGER: " i saw you by the bush side this morning, you were bleedingn from your head and you had fainted the moment i saw you "

The man stood up from the fire spot with a hot kettle in his hand, he came closer to where peter was lying, he picked up a towel and deep it in the hot water and place it on peter's injuried part. Peter shouted out loud

PETER: " oga na you wan come kill me since mary no succeed ?"

The man finished giving him first aid, and walk up to a dark corner and came out with a cutlass...

Mrs Grace enter and sat closer to me. I clear my throat and said

Mrs Grace laughed and laughed, before she ordered for her own bottle of cock. We sat there to gist, she then offered to take us to somewhere better, but before then we walk together the church. We got inside the church and continued the service untill the closing. After the service, she boarded a cap to move us around town. How proud i was, as at the time we got to MR BIGGS that afternoon. MR BIGGS was well ventilated, it as many things that can keep customers stay the more. We ate sallat rice, big fried chicken, and an apple juice to digest the food. after the delicious meal, i bent forward and said

ME: " thank you ma, i'v eaten to my satisfaction today "

MRS GRACE: " thank God. This place looks nice, right ?"

ME: " Yah. I love this place, i wish to stay here forever ", i said laughing, while throwing myself backward to relax.

MRS GRACE: " we better leave here, before you change your mind to stay here the more "

Mrs grace paid for all the expenses, as we both walk out from MR BIGGS. By 6:30pm, it was a little bit dark, We boarded a taxi back home. I followed her to the hostel and relax for sometime, before i informed her that i was leaving.
Mrs Grace escorted me to the school gate. when We reached the gate exit, i told her to stay back, but she refused.

MRS GRACE: " Am scared of sleeping alone in that hostel, and besides i have no room mate to stay with me "

ME: " but ma, you need to relax after stressing yourself today "

MRS GRACE: " no oh., i cant go in there and stay alone ", she said showing face of sadness.

My mind alerted me that something will soon go wrong, but i paid no attentions on my thoughts, untill when it comes to pass. Mrs Grace sighted me from were she seated, and wink.

Unfortunately for me, Mrs Grace stood up from among the congregation and move to the front of the alter, she collected a mic and said

MRS GRACE: " My name is grace bla bla., i came here for my teaching practice, mean while God has been so good to me, he kept me alive to see this days, so in that case i would love to sing a song of praise to him, i therefore called on PRINCE to come and sing with me "

when i heard the name PRINCE to SING with HER, i decided going out that very moment, but when i turn to look behind me, i could see ushers standing close to the door. Sometimes the ushers act like people who as taken alomo to church, so i changed my mind. I sat down frozen, shy, i was nervous, and my heart beat raised from the former 80 to 100 (fast heart beat), i nearly got an heart attach. I could'nt move anymore, i hide my face, untill when a male voice supported her

PASTOR: " Pls whose so ever that person is, why not come out and rejoice with her! "

I slowly walk to the front of the alter, when i collected the mic from one of the ushers to face the congregation ; i nearly fainted, i was in front of 2000 crowds. They all focus their attention on me as if i just won a presidental election. Mrs grace sang with an angelic voice, smooth sounding tune, and a slow song that moved the heart, while i stood there dump founded, i only bit my lips pretending to be singing too. After we had finished singing, i dropped in my first offering, walk outside to cool my nerves. Just near athe church premises, i sighted a carvery. I move in, ordered for a cool bottle of sprite drink. Mrs grace came out too, she stood from far to see me and she came to were had relaxed.
