8th case (Submitted by biggestjoe)

Last year, while serving at JNH Ibadan, a patient was brought to the hospital dead. I certified the patient dead. The relatives were soo shocked they couldn't believe it. They called a pastor and they gathered in their numbers to pray at the OPD. I left them there to attend to another patient at the ward. A nurse came running to me 5 mins after that the pastor said i should come and recheck the patient. I refused. I told the nurse to go back and tell the pastor that i also believe in miracles. I believe that if a miracle had occurred, the patient would be up on his feet by now. God doesn't need me to assist him in completing a miracle. The nurse went back. They prayed some more and finally accepted the harsh truth. They called me to write a death certificate for the deceased and they later took him to the morgue.
If you have cases that you want me to post, let me know and I'll post it on the thread.

Gentle man, i have a degree in Sociology and i admit that religion is the opium of the masses, but let me tell you that the world is really spiritual and there are certain things beyond your comprehension.I once questioned the existence of God and thought it was just an Israeli culture that was luckily adopted by many, but my experience with certain individuals have taught me not to doubt the existence of God.

I once met a young lady who told me my entire life history in five minutes, i stupidly thought she was just good at guessing and told her to unlock my phone to prove she was real, she uttered some words and got the pattern to my phone right. mind you i was out to shame her guessing scheme but ended up shaming myself. i asked her how she knew all she knows and she told me it just comes to her naturally and that it was her turn, she further told me to report anybody that messes with me to her. i deleted her number immediately in order to avoid been tempted.

You are just like my Ex girlfriend who is a medical student and i notice all of you that deny the effectiveness of prayer always come with proofs that most Christians cant stand against but you should take a moment to examine the lifes of those who have reached the peak of their carears in your fields am not talking of some yeye, consultants, Regristrars or seniors am talking about the guys who are making sense... some of them might be acting all proffessional to you but trust me they are backed either by good or evil.

i could list lot of examples but what baffes me most was the case of my younger brother who was so sick when he was young and i litearly slept in hospitals with my mum for a period spanning two years with lots of Doctors and Specialist doing their things to no avail, one day an old woman in an area came around and told my mum to take my younger brother to a native Hospital Called Koba omo je in Ibadan and my mum was forming educated" but later decided to go, alas we got there and they made some funny esquires from some things that looked like a god after which some incisions where made on my brothers body and since then the boy hast visited an hospital.

There are lots of example i can cite on the christain side but I choose not to but guy know that this world is spiritual, forget about the small experiences you see in some hospital World.. prayers work on different conditions though i believe there are lots of un called pastors around us

AreaFada2:

DM patients are having serious complications like retinopathy leading to visual impairment/blindness, neuropathy causing sores & amputations, nephropathy leading to kidney damage that would require dialysis/transplant, etc
A visit to the surgical wards, will give robust evidence to this.

Most of the folks there are bound in pains of DM ulcers. 70% will eventually die within months. About 10% will have amputation done (most of them don't survive it for long, because of severe depression that sets in).

The pains and death that these folks do experience, is strongly connected to late presentation at the hospital.

At the diagnosis of the DM, they disappear from the clinic attendance, and start seeking spiritual healing upandan. When the ulcers start, the spiritualist calls the ulcer a spiritual arrows from imaginary enemies.

This is one of the evil inherent in religious beliefs.

Funny enough I was still thinking about this same issue yesterday night before I slept. The west Africa idol guy who died of expired malaria medicine, I saw his ig page and from what I could deduce from it he was a fervent christian and even a chorister in one of this big church(can't remember the name right now), felt really disturbed thinking about the degree of randonmes to death. Mr A might be an Ogun worshipper and live up to 80 years, mr B might be a fervent christian and die at the age of 30, mr C might be a Muslim and live up to 50 years ears, Mr D might be an atheist and live up to 60 years. Mr A son who is also an Ogun worshipper might die at the age 20, mr B son who is also a fervent Christian might live up to 90, Mr c son who is also a Muslim might live up to 20 years, mr D son might die at the age of 10. death doesn't know religion, no one understand death, all everyone tries to do is provide semblance of understanding to death. No one knows when he is going to die, all we can do us to accept it and know one day its going to be our turn.

Prayer is the key to every situation. The prayer of the righteous is powerfully effective. I have seen numerous healing miracles God performed through prayers. I have seen cases of fibrod, mental disorder and many more which God healed permantly through prayers. One thing you must understand is that God answers prayers in 3 ways. When he give you YES for an answer you get what you prayed for. When he gives you NO for an answer, he has a better plan for you in future. When he gives you wait for an answer it means you have to be patient with him. God does not give yes to all prayers, he allows somethings to hapen for a purpose best known to him, because what he values most in a man is the state of his SOUL and not your physical body. OP, Please change your mindset and accept Jesus, believe the efficacy of prayers. Prayer has done wonders in the past and it's still performing great miracles today. WITH GOD ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE. EVEN THE MEDICAL Knowledge you have was given to you by God. So never doubt the power of God and the efficacy of prayers.

When will an amputee get healed for goodness sake??

Great, I like to also see a thread highlighting instances where prayer worked or a miracle was worked.

There are about 7 billion people on earth. Can you work out the ratio of people who miracle happen to compared to this number? For anything to be a miracle it must be testified by at least half the world population. Is that the case?

A church of 10,000 worshipers and 5 testimonies; I'll call it coincidence not miracle.

The second case that I want to share here happened right inside a church where I went for Sunday service.

Now this Preacher has spent the entire church service mocking contemporary medicine going on and on about how drugs, hospitals were useless in the face of prayers.

As the service was going on, a Man rushed in with his baby, crying profusely and dropped him at the altar. Apparently, the baby was critically sick and at the point of death, so he brought the baby to church.

Now, this Preacher didn't even break his stride or look in the general direction of the baby, he just said "One of the Pastors should come and take care of this" and continued lambasting doctors and hospitals.

The Pastors and some Deacons took the baby to an office and they all joined hands together and prayed for the baby before sending the baby to, you've guessed it, A HOSPITAL where the baby later died.

Which got me wondering, why didn't the creator answer the prayers of his servants in the midst of a sermon where they were mocking modern healthcare or act on the faith of the father who brought his dying baby to his house.

But we cannot allow people to just wallow in so much ignorance.

It's having devastating consequences on families as they lose breadwinners & guardians. Education & apprenticeship are interrupted for many kids, perpetuating & recycling poverty. NMA and FG & States MoH need to step in to enlighten people. At least to save some.

Making appropriate use of allopathic medicine and asking God or gods for healing should not be mutually exclusive. They should be complimentary.

Even Jesus said it is not those who are healthy that need a physician but those who are sick. Mark 2:17.
Apostle Paul advised Timothy "Drink no longer water, but use a little wine for thy stomach's sake and thine often infirmities". 1 Timothy 5:23.
Even those with power to heal still acknowledged doctors and healing substance, since wine/alcohol kills microbes unlike unclean well/stream water that might have been typically available then.

My mum had an ilness which took a turn for the worse on Sunday, July 26, 2009. She insisted on going to the church which was a good decision as our church, Latter Rain Assembly had a clinic that was staffed by doctors and other health professionals, many of them were consultants. My mum herself was a retired nurse. In this case, treatment was started immediately but the efforts of the doctors somehow proved abortive, when they discovered they were losing her they resorted to prayers (some did while others frantically treated her). When they lost her pulse, meaning she was dead they called my pastor, Tunde Bakare who prayed over her corpse for a short while. Nothing. Medicine failed that day, prayer even moreso.

It's not a hidden fact that Medical Doctors have a huge number of Atheists amongst them, I mean, they see how ineffective prayer is in the face of death on daily basis. When the Bible has already said that we should ask and we shall receive.

The hospital wards have heard more prayers than churches but still, patients still drop like flies.

I'll be using this thread to share stories of patients I've lost in the face of prayers and I encourage doctors and non doctors alike to come forth and share their stories.

Please I am waiting for you to perfectly explain this video.

People want to substitute prayer with a relationship with God. Are you praying because of what you want to gain from God, or because you actually have a relationship with Him?

And if you have such a relationship with God, do you trust Him? Do you think He may actually know what He is doing?

Can you really care more than God? Do you even understand the meaning of God? None of us does actually. But realize that our understanding is limited. We don't even utilize more than a fraction of our shrinking brains in our lifetime. And we somehow think we can rationalize the existence of a God, or the efficacy of communicating with Him. Pathetic.

Ponder these thoughts.

NO. What you do shoudnt be the yardstick for a creator to take the life of another person. It doesn't work that way.

It is not the task of Christianity to provide easy answers to every question, but to make us progressively aware of a mystery.
God is not so much the object of our knowledge as the cause of our wonder.

Those questions no matter how touching constantly reminds us that nowhere in God's word was man or christians promised a life free of pain. Nowhere in God's word was man promised the answers to all his questions.

God is and forever will be. We were created with limits and it's why we will forever wonder.

God the creator if he exists shouldn't be reduced to you flimsy explanation of him and what he is capable of.

Have u ever wondered...How can a whole Almighty creator be a subject of doubt in the mid of some of his creations. If u blame this on the devil.. I will only laugh because u are just giving the same dude u an ordinary human claim to have power over, so much power over ur God.

Case number 9

This woman was actually well known to the hospital staff. This was her 3rd CS. It was found out that she had contracted pelvis and was told that all her childbirth would be via CS. She refused. She was a member of a church that also runs a maternity and their mantra is that all women would give birth like the Hebrew women.

She pushed and pushed at her first delivery till the baby died and she was brought to the hospital for CS to remove the dead baby. Same thing happened the 2nd time. So, the faith of the whole church, their prayers couldn't save her. She has had 3 pregnancies, 3 dead babies and 3 CS with nothing to show for it.

Praying for years to have a vaginal delivery, still, nothing
