Not some Casino stuff.

My dad was never around most of the time, he joined the military.. My mum will make us pray in the morning and night before going to bed. I really hated this. Now that I am far away from home, I know my mum still prays for me in the morning and at night even when I am too lazy to pray for myself...

My mum try shaa she will always wake u up by 5am to prepare for. morning mass and that made me a good timer when I was in school. She will always knock my head whenever u see my senior without greeting even if the person senior me with a month it make me respect both old and young alike

This is one of the best topics I have seen on NL so far nice one OP ..... Funny enough we have over a million things to talk about mothers unlike fathers..... God bless all mothers and women in General...I keep praying for those women looking for the fruit of the womb that God in his Infinite mercy grant them their prayer cos there is so much to being a mother not just being a girl or a lady..... Please ladies of this Generation do the best you can to be great mothers and women not letting the present fun of life control your role in our World today in the lives of people....Excited I would see my mum very soon after some years of being away from Naija....Miss her like I have no word to describe it ....Thanks Mum for being the best and to those who have lost their mothers I pray the women in your life even if they can't replace the place of your mom at least they should be able to help you feel the love of mothers to the best they can .....

When I was younger, like 11 or so, there was this age mate of mine in our neighbourhood that used to bully me a lot. Sometimes she'll threaten me not to come out and play with the other kids otherwise she'll beat me because I had offended her. I was outside with others one day and immediately I sighted her coming, I ran to the house. My mum asked whats up and I stupidly said 'Happiness wants to beat me'. It was cane my mother used to pursue me outside. When the girl saw me, she was suprised I had defied her and came to fight me. I mentally weighed the easier of the two: my mom's cane or happiness' blows. I fought back and because she didnt expect me to even fight back, I won easily. That ended the bullying forever and I started standing up for myself.
By the way, when I decided to use my new found strength to become the neighbourhood fight champion, na cane my mama use do factory reset.
Shout out to all mothers.

Any day I fail maths, it's better not to come home, immidiatelly I take my lunch I will just hear "oya go and bring ur books" no so Momsy go teach me till evening... And I began to wonder y God gave me an educated mother and then during week ends na to tie u down with her lesson notes.... And then when she is praying just keep calm cause u are going to kneel down for close to 1hour......momsy really try for me...i can never stop loving her....

My mum usually keeps her cane by the side of her bed, she usually use it to reset my brain and it has really helped me, cos am a better person today. Anyway I usually take the cane away Sometimes when I know she ll need it, lol
The day I took fourth in class she made sure I didn't eat the rice and stew she prepared, I was angry and determined to take first the next term and that was Exactly what happened from primary one to primary5 everyone knew first position was my birth right lol oh mummy I love you more, because of u my headmaster had to skip me from primary 5 to 6 to write the common entrance according to him, no need to waste my time in primary six, u are just the best mum, my elder brother is now a better person today because of u.

She usually make my naughty behaviours example at the teenager Sunday school class so I stop attending her parish

Making me do everything a "Boy" should never do when growing Up:

*Cooking, even on special days!
*Plaiting her hair (and my wife was very surprised when l offered to plait her hair! )
*telling her stories from books l read (Who is the adult here?)
*Backing my junior ones (Do l look like a house-girl? )
*Washing plates and 'big" clothes (No washing machine in those days!)
*Siding with my Dad against me, on everything (Those two, ehn....)
*Making me return money l found on the floor, to wherever l found it (only for someone else to take it!)
*Insisting l must carry first all the time (na only me dey the class or what?)
*Not allowing me follow my passion of being a footballer (my play mates eventually made it to the national team and she regretted that sha)
*Making me do Sciences`, when l would have loved to do Art subjects (You must be Doctor, by force by fire!)
*Forcing me to pray at 6am in the morning, which is when l enjoy my sleep most!
*Pulling my Ears over minor issues; they get very hot and hurt so much

But what hate most about my Mum is creeping into my room at 3am in the midnight, with a cane in hand and tapping me awake to get flogged!
That is very harsh Mum..... l dont do it to my kids and they are still turning out great.
(Is it only my Mum that does this 'cos l've not seen anyone report the same thing)

But hey, she was a great Mum and l still `love her to bits.
The "values" she implanted in me back then, kept me going when the going was tough!
Even if you put all the problems of Nigeria on my small head, even if l am penny-less, even if everything goes down, l will always remember Mum saying: You've got to be strong because only the strong can survive!
No dulling, No jumping into the Lagoon........ naah, No way!

Hahahahahaha not only a times I will think she has forgotten about what I did only for her to wake me up by 4am after praying oh lol the beatings start I was stubborn sha

She always report us to our strict dad whenever we do something bad, back then i use to think is too harsh but now i know the importance of not supporting a child misconduct. Today all of us are responsible because of that. #iloveumoma
