Its good to see some Nairalanders looking at the possible logical reasons behind a clear terrorist hoax rather than just reacting to the media in an absurdly gullible manner and even strongly become part of the diversion of their destruction themselves.

Even if Faruq Abdul Mutalab was/is a president of Nigeria should we let our fear and emotions drive us out of our normal thinking minds?

Al qaeda confirmed they are behind the failed bombing and Yet they can't be traced through their message sources despite their public messages which they have been giving since 9/11.

If they can't be traced and possibly annihilated what proves that the message is truely from al-qaeda rather than a political justification for injustice. Should the media be airing such things and doing the so called mysterious al-qaeda a favor?

Nigeria's Attorney General and Justice Minister, Michael Aondoakaa, has promised the United States that Nigeria will provide its investigators images of the suspected U.S. plane bomber going through security checks at the Lagos airport on December 24.

Mr. Aondoakaa told reporters in Abuja that the images will prove that Nigeria's security staff had done their job.

"We have visual information, (that shows) our security agents did what they were supposed to do. We have nothing to hide," the minister said.

"The young man came in, he was screened and it is there on the visual information," he said, pledging Abuja's full cooperation with U.S. investigators.

Speaking on the content of the images, the minister said the suspect, 23-year-old Umar Farouk AbdulMuttallab "removed his shoes. He first came; he walked to the right, tried to go to the right screening machine, then suddenly changed his mind and turned to the left, removed his shoes and entered. It is there," the minister said.

Nigerians in UK protesting against bad governance.


Nigerians in United Kingdom on Friday defied the freezing London weather condition to protest against Nigeria’s leadership vacuum in the much publicised ‘Enough is Enough‘ rally designed to draw global attention to bad governance in the country.

The protesters who marched through Central London, chanting solidarity songs, demanded for good governance and the whereabouts of President Umar Yar’Adua.

As early as 11:30am Nigerian time, they assembled in front of United Kingdom Parliament Square with flags and banners, even as they distributed leaflets to Londoners to draw attention to the leadership crisis in the country.

They chanted songs such as ‘President Yar Adua of Nigeria,where are you? BBC-stop the lie; Nigerians are not terrorists; We deserve good governance in Nigeria; Enough is Enough of corrupt leaders; USA must de-list Nigeria from Terrorist list, among others.

Speaking during the rally, convener of Nigeria Liberty Forum and one of the organisers of the protest, Mr Kayode Ogundamisi, said : ‘We are here today for both present and unborn generations of Nigeria, we are tired of corrupt leaders since independence.

“We might be living abroad but we must not forget our roots and I am also using this rally to advise parents to allow their children to know original history of Africa and Nigeria,they must also learn the languages not just speaking English language because that would amount to mental and psychological slavery.‘

Ogundamisi, however, commended Nigerians who protested in other parts of Europe and also informed the rally that a former Foreign Affairs Minister, Prof. Bolaji Akinyemi and few Nigerians were planning to stand in front of White House in Washington DC anytime from then to persuade the President Barack Obama administration to remove Nigeria from the list of terrorist countries.

A UK-based Nigerian writer and political activist, Mr Chuma Nwokolo in his remark stated that since 50years of Nigeria‘s independence from the British government that Nigeria had been mis-governed and looted dry by one single tribe of ‘chronic thieves‘ not just Hausa/Fulani,Yoruba,Ibo or Ijaw thieves, saying that “this is the right time to reclaim our country in order to take our leadership role in the comity of respected nations around the world”

A London-based political activist, Comrade Shina Oyedeji, encouraged Nigerians to participate well in the next elections so as to prevent looters and corrupt leaders from getting back to power.

Oyedeji further lamented lack of basic amenities and infrastructural decay in Nigeria despite the abundant resources and manpower.
