The answer to your question is in 1st Corinthians chapter 12. The Holy spirit has given us many gifts. Some have word of wisdom, some healing, some knowledge of the word, etc. The spirit speaks to us in diverse ways. He can reveal it to us directly and also through preachers of the word, people who have the gift of wisdom and knowledge of the word. That is the reason for fellowship. Iron sharpens Iron.
