Lagos is more all about system not Person, Lagos has created a functional system and foundation such that even if a mad man becomes Governor he will perform. This system is Allien to the other 35 states and even Nigeria herself.

If he uses a 4G LTE service similar to NTEL that has no data cap then this won't be a problem. . .

The Free WiFi is connected to MainOne's Submarine Cable via metro fibre optics .

Way more faster than 4G LTe.

Data Cap is synonymous to Free WiFi worldwide.

Not when they manage it by ensuring you get basic internet service and not all d downloading. Which ia technically feasible as well. They can also monetise downloads etc. So social wifi can work in naija..

icedfire:
Free WiFi can't work in naija. Trust Lagosians to start downloading all the Netflix movies they can download, update all the 'updateable' on there laptops... before you know it, the thing go crash

Lagos leads; others follow

Nice one, Ambode

Instead of so many of our wasted youths to be demanding such things from their respective state governors, there are busy blaming Buhari

There are routers to take care of that. Not all websites will be accessible on the free WiFi and surely device bandwidth will be capped. Torrents and downloads won't be possible.
Instead, users of these free WiFi should be careful what they use it for as it will be an open Hotspot where all usage activities can be seen by the admin.
It's a good move by the LASG.

How will they set cap for a public Internet access

To avoid misuse, they can!

I know of 2 software that can do that.

A very commendable move by the LASG but going by history and historicals, I give it a lifespan of 30 days to 2 months.

This act is a starting point, surely they will learn from their mistake and provide better service as time goes on.

LASG and the Lasgidi Governor, Mr. A. Ambode is thinking and acting what 99.9% of government officials across the nation will never and ever had a thought of.

Great move, You can only do better..! smiley smiley smiley smiley

Well Done Ambode,
Well Done Lagos State
