Free WiFi can't work in naija. Trust Lagosians to start downloading all the Netflix movies they can download, update all the 'updateable' on there laptops... before you know it, the thing go crash

Free wifi doesn't mean unlimited bandwidth. In developed countries like the UK, the wifi in public buses are free but you can't watch YouTube videos, stream anything or even download a 5mb song. You are only allowed to check your email, social media and bus timetables. Switch on your VPN and you have no connection whatsoever but error.

If he uses a 4G LTE service similar to NTEL that has no data cap then this won't be a problem. . .

I still don't trust Nigerians, they will always find a way... good one by the Lagos state government. I hope they extend I to suburbs like ipaja, Ayobo, abule egba, ifako ijaiye, egbeda, ikotun and igando even though we don't have parks around here

You stay around Lasu Isheri Road

I hope security cameras will be mounted too. Cos you just made it easier for phone stealers and pick pocketers

Pessimist spotted!

Bloody waste.
Misplaced priorities.
A state that cannot ensure all children are enrolled in schools with adequate professional teachers and equipment for creative excellence has no business providing free wifi in public parks.
The same way Aregbesola provideD Opon Imo but can't pay salaries for two years.
Who emptied the brains of these governors?
Whoever made them brainless should please return their brains.

Free wifi should have sites you can visit purposefully for sourcing info not downloading entertainment videos or so. Free wifi is possible. Wifi can even be embedded in our electric bulbs so it would be accessible across a wider spectrum in Nigeria that the remotest part of the nation would have internet free of charge; free access to info, that would as well save us transport money to parks for wifi

There are routers to take care of that. Not all websites will be accessible on the free WiFi and surely device bandwidth will be capped. Torrents and downloads won't be possible.
Instead, users of these free WiFi should be careful what they use it for as it will be an open Hotspot where all usage activities can be seen by the admin.
It's a good move by the LASG.

Spot on!

Lagos is more all about system not Person, Lagos has created a functional system and foundation such that even if a mad man becomes Governor he will perform. This system is Allien to the other 35 states and even Nigeria herself.

You get eye and you get sense... This is what Nigeria actually needs... A working System.
