lfleak:you need to define "God" |
Re: I Really Pity Christians by lfleak: 7:30pm On May 18, 2017 |
hopefulLandlord:the simplest: Your Creator. but that's not the answer to my question... |
Re: I Really Pity Christians by hopefulLandlord: 7:33pm On May 18, 2017 |
lfleak: "Creator"? but there are so many claims to that word, if that's your definition then you're a deist |
Re: I Really Pity Christians by lfleak: 7:40pm On May 18, 2017 |
hopefulLandlord:Ooo.. i use the word Creator, then am a deist, what a logic.. lol.. but that question you quoted is unanswered yet. |
Re: I Really Pity Christians by hopefulLandlord: 7:45pm On May 18, 2017 |
lfleak: you said I should prove to you "God" doesn't exist, its only logical for me to ask for your definition of the word "God" so answers can be given otherwise we might be talking through each other I interacted with someone on another board who defined 'God' as being: 'the spirit of caring'. If he define it like that, then no wonder he's mystified/disappointed when someone says "I don't believe in God"! If he'd simply said "spirit of caring" instead of using 'God' as a shorthand for that, most people would agree with him! so if you define "God" as "Creator" you're just talking about deism because deists describe "God" the exact same way |
Re: I Really Pity Christians by lfleak: 7:52pm On May 18, 2017 |
hopefulLandlord:OK, I dnt even know what deism is. God is so many things..The Creator is just one of all the., The all provider, The all merciful, the all seer, the all hearer and many more ..now answer my question |
Re: I Really Pity Christians by hopefulLandlord: 7:55pm On May 18, 2017 |
lfleak: the Abrahamic god? if those are the definition then such a god doesn't exist! |
Re: I Really Pity Christians by lfleak: 7:57pm On May 18, 2017 |
hopefulLandlord:you still on point 0. Proof your last line. |
Re: I Really Pity Christians by hopefulLandlord: 8:06pm On May 18, 2017 |
lfleak: the "all provider" is meaningless word game The "all merciful"? we saw how merciful he was to the Canaanite infants, we saw how merciful he was to the Midianite non virgin girls and midianite male infants the "All seer"? we all saw how an all seeing god regretted creating humans the "all hearer" that had to ask Adam and Eve what happened, you know cuz that proves he heard it all when the snake was deceiving Eve moving away from your storybook The claim for the Abrahamic god is that she/he/it (say it fast) has multiple ultimate characteristics — omniscience, omnipresence, omnipotence, and omnibenevolence. The most any give entity can possibly have is one of them, since it's always possible to posit a situation in which 2 of them are pitted against each other, and one of them must lose. Indeed, it's possible for at least one of them (omnipotence) to do battle with itself, as indicated by the insoluble riddle "Can God make a rock so heavy he can't lift it?" Therefore, if there is in reality some kind of supernatural entity, it can't have the nature claimed for the Abrahamic god. It's logically impossible for anything to have more than one ultimate characteristic, and stupendously unlikely that it has even the one. So I for one have no difficulty whatsoever saying that no, the Abrahamic god not only doesn't exist, it can't exist! |
Re: I Really Pity Christians by lfleak: 8:14pm On May 18, 2017 |
hopefulLandlord:Lol wait o... First realize am a Muslim, because I see you already delved into the bible... |
Re: I Really Pity Christians by hopefulLandlord: 8:18pm On May 18, 2017 |
lfleak: you see why I was asking those questions? can you see that I didn't ask enough questions? you can ignore the Bible part then and focus on latter part, I think your god too has claims of omniscient, omnipresent, omnipotent? if yes then the shoes of the latter part fits......wear it! BTW, this is a thread about pitying "Christians", what exactly are you doing here |
Re: I Really Pity Christians by Amberon: 8:29pm On May 18, 2017 |
Lol... There are planets scientists are yet to discover. Doesn't mean they are inexistent? New organisms are being discovered often, does it mean they were inexistent? Recently they discovered a new organ or bone (cant remember precisely), dors it mean it was inexistent? frank317: |
Re: I Really Pity Christians by Amberon: 8:31pm On May 18, 2017 |
The creator. hahn: |
Re: I Really Pity Christians by hopefulLandlord: 8:39pm On May 18, 2017 |
Amberon:that's exactly how a deist would define it, seems you're a deist now |
Re: I Really Pity Christians by lfleak: 8:42pm On May 18, 2017 |
hopefulLandlord:now that you have answered the question partially. Lemme guide you... Your first point for not believing God exist is: God was not merciful on the Canaanite infants... If that is the reason you think God doesn't not exist, then you are astray... Now, good events happens and also bad events happens which none is outside the knowledge of God. Events such as that is nothing special! Or to cry about. Do you no the amount of unborn babies that die before birth daily?? Do you know the amount of the ones that die after birth daily? How many die after 5 years daily?? And those who die as adult daily?? The fact is every soul will taste death, irrespective of the type, time, place and age. Those who die in air crash will all die even if they never board flight!! Those who died in WW2 will die mysteriously in another way if WW2 didn't occur... So trying to justify the non existence with sympathy is a no brained because all soul will taste something all over... Your other points are for Christians.. |
Re: I Really Pity Christians by hopefulLandlord: 8:47pm On May 18, 2017 |
lfleak: is your god omnipotent? is he omniscient? is he omnipresent? was Allah involved with the Canaanite children? |
Re: I Really Pity Christians by lfleak: 8:49pm On May 18, 2017 |
hopefulLandlord:Yes to all... |
Re: I Really Pity Christians by hopefulLandlord: 8:53pm On May 18, 2017 |
lfleak: why then did you pretend the latter part of my previous long post only applies to the Christian version can you read it again? I'll help you repost The claim for the Abrahamic god is that she/he/it (say it fast) has multiple ultimate characteristics — omniscience, omnipresence, omnipotence, and omnibenevolence. The most any given entity can possibly have is one of them, since it's always possible to posit a situation in which 2 of them are pitted against each other, and one of them must lose. Re: I Really Pity Christians by lfleak: 8:58pm On May 18, 2017 |
hopefulLandlord:OK the first point is killed... This second one is just a lone thought of a worried soul... From the long epistle all I you're saying is, let say; can seun delete Nairaland? Same answer goes to you.. YES HE CAN BUT WHY SHOULD HE? Its just c'mon sense.. |
Re: I Really Pity Christians by frank317: 9:03pm On May 18, 2017 |
lfleak: Yes I have wondered, but didn't get an answer since I wasn't there and nobody seem to be their when their sperm was forming |
Re: I Really Pity Christians by frank317: 9:09pm On May 18, 2017 |
Amberon: Yes it does not mean they are inexistent but it means they are not important to us. What in the world do u want to do with something that has not been discovered? |
Re: I Really Pity Christians by hopefulLandlord: 9:10pm On May 18, 2017 |
lfleak: bro, don't weaken your god idea by using a mortal that has limitations as example, you should know better remember we are talking of how the four omnis are definitely incompatible, you can show me how its compatible OR are you telling me your god can make a stone he can't lift? isn't that an incompatibility in itself? aren't you in a catch-22 already |
Re: I Really Pity Christians by Amberon: 9:10pm On May 18, 2017 |
Christianity isn't about a God (the creator) anymore? hopefulLandlord: |
Re: I Really Pity Christians by hopefulLandlord: 9:13pm On May 18, 2017 |
Amberon: so is deism bro anyways since you've admitted you're talking about the Christian god I can tell you your imaginary friend doesn't and can't exist The claim for the Christian god is that she/he/it (say it fast) has multiple ultimate characteristics — omniscience, omnipresence, omnipotence, and omnibenevolence. The most any give entity can possibly have is one of them, since it's always possible to posit a situation in which 2 of them are pitted against each other, and one of them must lose. Re: I Really Pity Christians by lfleak: 9:17pm On May 18, 2017 |
frank317:you were dre.. You were that sperm that popped out while your parents where engaging in each other, you found your way right down to the little egg.... and you know what? You went through 3 stages of darkness as mentioned in the Quran.till you were formed into a body worthy to be called a human.. Don't you still think those process were perfectly architected ?? Now you were not there.. In the nearest year to come, you will also mate with a female, and the same process repeats itself from start to the end right in from of your eyes... You injected those smelly sperm to get a human with full functionality after about 280 days and you think that is done by you?.. Drop bean seed in the floor ...after some hours you see it germinating already, also rain fall takes place and sun also shines without ever exceeding the bearable limits... Do you still think its normal? |
Re: I Really Pity Christians by frank317: 9:21pm On May 18, 2017 |
lfleak: U are the one who called Ur God all powerful and all caring. If he exists then he can't be all caring and all those babies u mentioned that die at infant will be dying up and down. So the best way u can prove that ur God is all caring is by telling him to let go of the fact that babies are dying? Are u even sure of what u are saying? |
Re: I Really Pity Christians by lfleak: 9:22pm On May 18, 2017 |
hopefulLandlord:lol, you see the first problem with atheist is that they look for too many words to help them.. Those Omni's you listed there are just words you use for your own benefits.. Here read: https://www.google.com.ng/search?redir_esc=&client=ms-android-tecno&hl=en-US&safe=images&oe=utf-8&q=99+names+of+allah+list&source=android-browser-suggest&qsubts=1495138786089 |

Re: I Really Pity Christians by hopefulLandlord: 9:28pm On May 18, 2017 |
lfleak: aren't you the one that's being inconsistent weren't you the one that answered "yes" when I asked if your god idea is omniscient, omnipotent omnipresent and omnibelevolent? you answered yes and are now accusing me of using words for my benefit 1 Like |
Re: I Really Pity Christians by frank317: 9:30pm On May 18, 2017 |
lfleak:I wasn't there. If I was there I will tell u not u to tell me. What did me as sperm see? Even if I think the process was perfectly architected so? That's just my thinking, I still don't know how I was formed or where I came from or who formed me or what formed me. What's ur point? How does the fact that I will mate with a lady in the nearest future prove any God? I never said it was done by me did I? Please refer to my answer when u asked me how my sperm was formed and stop replying me with an answer in ur head. Ya right, a seed of beans grows, rain falls, sun shines, I am awe at the all, therefore I should now my head five times a day to what ever I think made it possible despite now knowing what it is. What's really Ur point? |
Re: I Really Pity Christians by frank317: 9:35pm On May 18, 2017 |
lfleak: Perhaps u are the one who does not understand what he writes. U say good and bad thing must happen and they don't happen outside God, yet when asked to define Ur Of you said he was all caring. Are u not contradicting yourself? |
Re: I Really Pity Christians by lfleak: 9:38pm On May 18, 2017 |
hopefulLandlord:yea,, I answered it.. What am referring to here is, you are opposing two words and picking some contradiction between them...you can tell me their contradictions here |
