Don't mind all these yeye youths for nairaland..

Most of them lack basic knowledge and they don't travel. Most of them just sit at home and read everything online without traveling..

The worse thing anyone can do to him self as a Nigerian youth is to swallow all that happened as a means to weaken the igboland during the war! If that guy visits Asaba and spend 7 days, him go understand..

Asaba wey over 80% speak igbo and practice igbo culture.. He should go and study how Asaba became capital of Delta state.. Some youths for nairaland and their hatred for anything igbo tire me..
thanks my guy

Let the correct thing be said.
Even before and during the civil war, Asaba was in the Midwest region. Never for once was it called a eastern town or city; although it us eastward from Lagos. So also is it westward from Enugu. The Igbo language thing is 90%, but location is mid west.

If you did geography then you know that DELTA and most Southern states are actually the real South East...

what we refer to as South East is actually "east central" but because Gowon has
succeeded through divide and rule--in putting you people brain on "perpetual Coma" so waking up seems like blues

Saying you are not south east, is like rejecting your biological name because of hatred you harbor for your neighbor..
whatis wrong with these ibo chaps?
is it by force to be tagged southesterner?
why do u soooooooo badly want these pple (southsouth) along with u?
why not let SS be the ones doing the attachee-by-means?

bro.. i am talking about geographical listing and not what Nigerian state tagged as regions.. the earlier u understand that these regions were created for political gains.

Asaba has always been an igbo land.. and no one is doing forcing attachment here.. there are core igbo nations in the so called South South (a term used by Nigerian state).. These igbo nations are what we care about..

the mistake u guys alws make is tht, u caremore about ibos in other regions than they actually care to tag along with u.
about 3weeks ago i went with an ikwerre female colleague to restuarant. the owner of the restuarant happens to be ibo, and tot my female colleague was se ibo. he then refered to her as ibo. surprisingly, she abruptly retorted and warned never to be mistaken as ibo.
i ws surprised and nd asked her if ikwerre nd ibo re nt one and same. she said they er not.

Oga, I'm tired of this argument.
What defines a person undecided

How can you start comparing Tribe, Ethnicity with Nationals.
That's a different thing.

Even the people you mentioned, like Germans in Austria,
The are all Germans, just that they have different Nationality
The are all from German ancestory and Ethnicity.

Asaba are from Igbo Ethnicity and ancestory
Even their DNA will certainly be of Igbo origin.

BTW, though I respect Asaba people, but don't think I'm so interested in them, the are just normal people like everyone else, nothing specific or special, same goes for every other tribe in Nigeria, including yours.

So you guys should stop bothering yourselves about Asaba people and Igbo Ethnicity.

My post was just to correct the mistake made by some people, I'm Igbo, are you from Asaba?
Or Yoruba most likely?
Be bold and say your Ethnicity?

Because, People of that tribe are somehow obsessed with anything that has to do with Igbo, while ignoring the problems in their own region

All I have been talking about is Asaba are from the Igbo Tribe and Ethnicity. And actually we have the same Nationality with them.. (Nigeria)

eth·nic group
noun
a community or population made up of people who share a common cultural background or descent.
tribe
[trahyb]
noun
any aggregate of people united by ties of descent from a common ancestor, community of customs and traditions, adherence to the same leaders, etc.
a local division of an aboriginal people.

If you read all this (including the link) and you still insist Asaba people are not Igbos then don't quote me again, because I won't reply
