If the truth must be told our foreign currency reserve would be better off for this but we should go further and ban our politicians from sending their kids to school abroad as well as spending our hard earned and scarce dollars on hospital treatments when we have UPTH, UNTH, JUTH, LUTH and all such other UTHs sef. 1 Like |

I was born into the "Up Nepa Syndrome"...lived with it till l was 20's, came back twice and still the syndrome persists. Is that a sign of progression or backwardness? If the hypocrite wants to be patriotic, he should have done his research before declaring Senegalese jollof rice was better than his home country. Now, he wants to flex his moses (sorry, muscles) on the entity called 'creativity', that's been helping Nigeria's image beyond its shores. The move might look patriotic, but it's got a lining of prejudice and poor thinking embedded in it. In addition, l feel there shouldn't be any sort of restriction as to 'where' the entertainment industry should use, in relation to movie or music production. He needs to dialogue with all the parties involved that makes Nigera's entertainment thick, before jumping into a stupid conclusion. 1 Like |

[quote author=ONYEUTALI post=58494116] Ignorant Islamic fanatics. How many Islamic Nigerian Musicians/Actors are known in Nollywood and the Music Industry? Why won't this Islamic Government of Buhari do away with Christian Artist. The motion to Islamitise Nigeria is here staring you in the Eyes and some ignorant fellows are still shouting 'One Nigeria'. Disgusting zoo. there is nothing like religion here.pls be guided and tackle the issue straight held on, we (both Muslims and Christians citizens) are all hited by this demosensless speech credited to the lieing minister. So enough of all this Muslim Christian divisionism after all amongst them (politicians) there's nothing call religion, they all partying, wine and dine together while watching and laughing at us (the citizens) when we are arguing, fighting and killing one another.i pray that may natural divine sence fall on us quickly so that we all understand.hmmm this is my humble submission |

barcaboi: You don't elevate or showcase ur country by stifling variety/creativity and trying to interfere in private money expenditure. Rather u do that by creating a reasonably easy business environment with important basic infrastructure like power, good road networks, effective transportation and security. With these in place, people will be begging to invest n take advantage of the large Nigerian market. 1 Like |

gist4real:Bro... why would you make such a dumb statement? Don't the politicians or whoever foot the bill? ...so how is this related to your taxpaying dollars ... being used to fund a private enterprise? The FG should never be funding Nollywood period...Nollywood is private.I would hope the FG stop all funding of Nollywood... and use the money for what it is supposed to do. ... provide infrastructure and services for the masses. In other countries this would not even be considered... blatant misuse of public funds. |

They take our talents out of the country to produce a film and sell it back to us as made in Nigeria films OK. They also buy our crude oil and sell it back to us as petrol. Even the NFF wants to stop our footballers playing in Europe as all footballers should be made in nigeria |

eflintsone: My friend present a superior argument or zip it ..so in your mind now govt should make laws stopping independent movie makers from deciding where to shoot their movies ? People like you are responsible for the rot Nigeria has become..Please just look at the life of anyone under Ur care now and tell if you are happy with the state of their existence ...Even Hollywood that is Hollywood go to other locations to shoot scenes..Govt has no business regulating where any film maker wants to shoot his film once they can afford it ..Govt should focus on fixing the infrastructure and if other countries don't instead come here to shoot .. |
