Power generation and distribution should be in the concurrent legislative list and not be a monopoly of the federal government which has failed in this regard anyways.

So, they rejected the proposal of Lagos?

Not this new request. The general quest as embedded in constitutional review.

If Lagos has 24hrs power supply..
People would migrate more into the state.

You're not looking at the 'cost of living' angle. You can't just migrate to areas with throat slashing cost of living, save you're planning on sleeping under a bridge.

The most economical way of distributing power is through a national grid to avoid waste.
Please let them waste the funds if it will provide uninterrupted power supply to the nation after all most of the funds are embezzled

I don't know why some illiterates are jumping up and down about this news.
Virtually every state in the ND and some states in the north can power itself of this national grid nonsense is removed.
So I see no reason jubilating here.

Then let people decide for themselves when to benefit( if there's any) from your discoveries & not do everything possible to discourage the sustained unity.

Who am i, to force us to split. Guy, we are here talking about what can salalvage the nation and what can bring forth genuine unity, not a forced one. Restructuring thru true federalism is the only way to go if we still want to be same. It should be structured to ensure that domination is never allowed again in this country. Not necessarily. There might be migrant control measures. With 24hrs electricity, real estate will go up, rents will go up, taxes collection will improves if not increased..., Only those that fits and can sustain themselves in a Mega city will be able to stay. Others will go back to farm.

.

Let me add with 24hours electricity service charge in shopping malls will go down, as the use of generator accounts for a high percentage of the service charge, which will lead to reduce cost of items sold to final consumer, generator prices will see a southward movement, more people would work from their homes, so office rental cost may also go downwards, also food will become more cheaper as homes can preserve their foods longer in fridges, etc....

Let them be believing the propaganda, Nigeria after 57 years of independence could barely generate 4000 megawatts of electricity but Ambode will give Lagos 3000 megawatts in 3-6 years and so called educated youths believe that crap even saying Obasanjo frustrated Tinubu efforts to do the same grin Like what is stopping Buhari or the next president frustrating Ambodes effort.

Yoruba adage:ojo odun loro d'ole
am very surprise at the opinion of many here, some even said Nigeria can only be better with true federalism! it's all lie!
Eko is better because eko is lucky to have committee of sage ruling eko!
can any one tell me one state of the continuity of government for 20 years!The problems of Nigeria is not the system but the leadership;
All what you see today in lagos is a legacy of Tinubu,
how many state in Nigeria have such a visionary leader?
And how many states can accept what aromisa legbegbe accepted!
During the era of regionalism one region develop than other, it's depend on the leaders at the helm of power!
Bravo Tinubu who continue with the vision of Awo!

Don't mind. You need to see how terrible lagos roads are now. I'm surprised people are just driving and dodging pot holes like they are playing video game and no body seem to be bothered. Everybody just keep quiet like say na normal thing. Why won't the politicians steal money and treat the masses the way they like. Suffering and smiling don master everybody.

There are 11 leaders that must be friend in affairs of their state to make the state better, otherwise it will be failure!
1. The governor
2. the minister nominated from the state
3. the trio senators of the state
4. the six house of reps of the state
These eleven personalities of a state if they love themselves the state will be better.
tell me one state apart Lagos state that have this miracle!

I wonder, not to mention the ban that one can't produce power independently beyond a quota...these laws are to cripple the south that would have sought alternatives...we tell them they won't listen...
