What on earth are you saying? Peace Corps replacing National Guard?

National Guard means they'll have military training and then hold some heavy military hardware. Only a government agency can have such capability.
it's very simple, not all army corps handle gun, they can simply select peace corps strike force and give them the necessary training

In all we are saying it's national guard that apc want to bring in again? Anyway I trust Buhari will not listen to such useless jamboree. So because some countries has it therefore Nigeria must have it? Have we not had enough uniform in the street or must we always buy whatever anybody sell to us can't this fools in power just reason and be sensible for a minute in their lives?

What the hell National Guard for? We have police, the military from nowhere the bloody jobless NGO civil defense became force through back door, we, NSA, DSS, and I learnt another one was passed few weeks back and yet all these are not enough?

Nope. It's not about the training but the hardware National Guard operates. You can't give such training and hardware to peace corps

Not even NSCDC.

Peace corps do not have any necessary mandate they are just another front by the United nations to spy on nigeria, you would be shocked to see what the DSS knows about the peace corps, since Jonathans time

Its a lie, why should the kods be pushing this kind of fake news, it was earlier disputed by press sec of the min of interior, some mods are not intellectually sound at all
Re: Nigeria Moves To Establish National Guard by gabe: 2:19pm On Aug 19, 2017
Una don start. If the police is overstretched, employ more police. This is how we have ended up with civil defence and peace corps struggling authority with police.

Man it seems like Nigeria just wants to copy USA. I'm cool with national guard in theory but not sure why FG wants to bother itself with another millitary force. Will these guys stay in their barracks until called out by governor. If you copy USA copy that aspect.

Also I still believe thsee security and emergency issues are better handled locally. Decentralized police at local government level is best. The millitary is over stretched but adding national guard might not be appropriate response. The FG will need to fund the National Guard in all 36 states.

PS: Be aware national guard is just a the federally funded military force for your governor.

The civil defence corps should be reequiped retrained and their capabilities strengthened. we dont need any security outfit at the moment. when the ones we currently have are ill equiped and poorly funded.
personally whether peace corps national guard or whatever name they want to call these duplication of function is highly unnecessary when the goverment is grappling with increased overheads and huge debts.
