Those publishing house cost a lot of money compare to Nigeria currency exchange, or does one go about it And Myne White, how much money does it cost you to get it published because I'm like interesting in them too, please explain,

Authorhouse has several package for their publishing but I took the cheapest one which cost $549 then. This does not involve editing or any other service except copyright registration and distribution. One has to pay for other services if you want but they have been OK and I like the attention I got from the people I worked with. Authorhouse is not a legitimate publisher. Legitimate publishers charge you nothing to publish your book. What Author House does is vanity publishing. They are simply printers just like the folks asking you to consider them in this thread. There wont be any editing and the promotion of the book is entirely up to you. Anyway, do as it pleases you.

Authorhouse is a publishing services company. They make their money from authors not book buyers. Therefore, they make no effort to ensure that your book is successful (and virtually none are). If you want to be a successful author you need to get published by a true publishing company. These take no money from authors instead making their money from sales of the book. All the books you see on best seller lists and on most bookshop shelves are published by this sort of company. Also because the author has not had to pay anything to get his/her book published, there is no risk for the writer (instead there's a big risk for the publisher!) Unsurprisingly, these book publishers are very selective about the books they publish. It's virtually impossible to get accepted by a large publishing house unless you've got an agent and a string of previous best sellers to your name. The smaller publishing houses, however, a much more approachable for first time authors. An example of a publishing company that's looking for new authors is Knightstone Publishing.
