RodgersAkpafu: Because there are parts of this country that nurse grievances and could work as 5th columnists in this delicate period Refer to the Internet and see for yourselves
I also noticed the tribalistic cretins have reduced their cho cho cho on twitter
No sense and no shame
A leader should be above board. You are merely giving excuses for incompetence and bad leadership. If Tinubu is a good leader, the first thing he should have done is to unite the country by words and actions, knowing very well that elections has gone. Publicly distance himself from bigotry statement from his assistants like Bayo Onanuga and his supporters, run a government of national unity, equitably spread appointments to key agencies across the people of Nigeria. Sort to develop all region using their comparative advantages, ensure security and justice for all, Listen to the people and live within the means of the people. Optics and perception matters in leadership. Tell me why people will not unite and support him?
cdqyehyeh: What still amaze me is the Nigerians believing Trump is interested in Christains affair in Nigeria lol. The ratio of killing to Christains killingratio in US way higher than Nigeria. (In 50 killings in Nigeria only 2-3 are against the Christian, In US in the rate of 50 48 if not 49 are against Christians)
Nigeria should sacntion them, you can't dictate for a sovereign state. After the prisoner deposit saga. Trump has accused South Africa of White killing, Trump as accused Venezuela of Drug, Nigeria of selective killings, Iran of Nuclear Advancement. Yet every single accusations happens in the US everyday.
Forget Nigeria trading crude for refine oil, direct exchange for yuan instead of dollar isn't affecting is a big lie. Currently America is on the thread of lose base on the dependency of Nigeria on themselves rather the US. They told India to stop buying from Russia, it doesn't work they shift attention to South Africa , they accuse them of White killing they realize invading SA SA denied will cause more white killing, they accuse Venezuela Maduro stand his ground they felt like oh what oh what to do, then Nigeria comes to mind, if we can break Nigeria oil independency it will turn around. Guess Port Harcourt was there interested base, Is PH in the North . Mark my word the invasion of Nigeria by the US is going to be a great fall for the United States.
I trust in God and I trust in Nigeria governance as a process and I AM NOT A BETRAYAL OF MY SOIL. GOD BLESS NIGERIA GOD BLESS PRESIDENT BOLA AHMED TINUBU GOD BLESS AFRICA
Continue moving around on every story, posting same write-up. You go explain tire.
Jayhome24: All these are not necessary. Gej faced same during his tenure, Buhari faced the same during his tenure and now Tinubu this should be a clear evidence US a just a pretending friend of Ngeria, however, snubbing or no snubbing the misrepresentation of our nation need to be corrected and Trump has no right to invade Nigeria we didn't ask him or beg for that and if he dares it he will regret it.
If Trump truly love Nigeria he should support the Fes Govt with all his power to destroy terrorism given us sleepless night then Trump is welcome it invading, he'll No.
But our President has not shown the will to face the monster head on, he is still playing politics with the enablers of insecurity. He should have published all names of terror enablers and financier to begin with. That way the world will know he means business. Is his Vice not fingered in all this terror mess?
Americans know our government is not really fighting insecurity. What our government is doing is fighting the symptoms but leaving the root causes. So don't castigate American for not giving us military hardware, atleast to the provide us intelligence, which our people sometimes Ignore or fail to act on.
Tinubu knows what to do, whether he will do it is another thing entirely.
For whatever reasons, Trump means business in this issue. He has been calling African leaders all sort of names long before now. Tinubu sit up, face leadership and stop politics.
adioolayi: Sharia constitution is subject to Nigeria's constitution.
Moreso, it's for those that are Muslims in the states that adopted it.
Mind you, I am not a Muslim, but I have been to Kano before..and I know non Muslims are not subjected to Sharia.
Like I admitted, there have been some reports of highhandedness....but, largely, Sharia courts doesn't have jurisdiction on non-Muslims...except you just want to lie
It is not about the court, it is about the effect sharia system has on the believers and non believers. Those who killed Deborah believe they did the right thing for their faith. How come the sharia system didn't bring anyone to book. Secondly, is Deborah a Muslim, No. But the believe system affected her, so also others who deal on Alcohols. This guys ban Alcohol but will accept VAT allocation. Those are some of the issues.
odejimioflagos: I hope the Nigerian government will stand firm and reject any sanctions based on this flimsy narrative. We are a sovereign nation and will not allow any foreign country dictate to us how to handle our internal affairs.
This is the problem I have with blind followership and warped patriotism. A sovereign nation that goes cap in hand begging international donors and asking for military assistance. Do you know how much support the US gives your "sovereign" country on HIV drugs alone, let alone other areas.
Let me see how they will stand firm when they "Open book for them" God bless Fela. America have good undiluted data about Nigeria and your so called leaders. Have you wondered why most of your garrulous leaders kept quiet on this issue, American go open book for them.
America is not dictating anything to our government. Just stop the senseless killings. It is repugnant to natural justice. Let Muslims and Christians practice their faith without intimidation and also traditional worshippers, is this difficult to achieve?
Sharia sharia sharia, na etho-religous differences go put spanner to the existence of the country las las.
RhemaJet7: Oyeka Obi The Igbos shouldn't rejoice yet over the Trump move because we don't know his agenda yet, wether he has good intension or internal motive against us, this is NOT Biafra war in disguise. Some Igbos are attacking the Yorubas of being trabalistic over the issue. This is my comment: Americans cannot deliver us except we first resolve our internal crisis, we are the problems of ourselves. When it comes to tribalism, the truth of the matter is that the Igbos are the most tribalistic people in Nigeria, I have lived and worked in the Nortn, East, South South and South West of the country. The Igbos hate hearing the word "We are one Nigeria, because of Biafra issue, the Igbos refuse to forgive Nigeria till tomorrow and it will forever linger on, the Yorubas especially in Lagos accommodate the Igbos to the extend that the population of the Igbos in Lagos are even more than the Yorubas the owners of the state, but in the East, the threat of Biafra agitations, unfriendly behavior of the Igbos towards the Yoruba and the Hausas does not allow us to stay, enjoy the land, even many companies, including the company I worked with in Abia have folded up, some have "japa" , relocated to South West, Lagos and Ogun State where there is peace, you will see companies having only show room in Port Harcourt, but their main factories are in Lagos and Ogun, because of these insecurity issues, kidnapping of their staff, destruction of their facilities, excess demand of son of the soil extortion, etc. Those are the evidences that the Yorubas are not as tribalistic and online ranting as you are as you claim, we are peaceful and accommodating. The only two states that are accommodative in the East related areas are Akwa Ibom and Cross River Calabar, they are good to strangers travellers, tourists. I am talking from experiece. Until the Igbos forgive Nigeria over Biafra issue, forget about Biafra and move on, there will be no unity, love, among the people, there will be continual crisis, Nnamdi Kanu will remain in jail, and the Hausas and Yorubas will never allow the Igbo to become the nation president. As I said earlier, this is NOT Biafra war in disguise,, if Trump has internal motive against Nigeria, planning to syphon our treasures, oil, gold, etc, everyone will be a victim including the Igbos, WE ARE ONE NIGERIA, so, don't rejoice yet. Many people don't know that some global elites, some world powers have sinister agenda against the black nations, because they know we are weak, we have resources, so, they take advantage of that to enrich themselves, only God can deliver us. Remember what they did to Sudan, Gadaffi Libya, etc. Africa, wise up! Truly the Christians are been persecuted, any attempt to defend / protect us is a welcome development.
May God protect every christian across the nations, God bless Nigeria, God bless Africa, God bless America if they have good intention, God bless all our well wishers.
Peace!
Your opinion is skewed. Why blame Igbos for whatever happens in Nigeria, it is pure bigotry. First, was there any attempt to implement the RRR after the war? NO Why did Nigeria rob the Easterners by giving them just £2 for any amount they had in the bank? Why the systematic sidelining of the Igbos in government and infrastructure?
Igbos don't hate people. They are the most travelled tribe in Nigeria and they tend to add value where ever they live, because where you live is your castle. Don't mistake their affinity for one another as tribe bigotry.
What is the noise about USA and the new designation of Nigeria? Is the US coming after you or the terrorists?
Stop all forms of killings and fix the country you are blaming the Igbo. How?
Have you forgotten that the late sage, Chief Obafemi Awolowo once called Nigeria a geographical expression and this sitting president once said he does not believe in Nigeria, so what changed? You can't force people to believe in Nigeria.
streetshuttle: Doubt PBAT at your own peril. Changing the service chiefs wasn't business as usual. The previous chiefs have done 2 years 4 months with no significant result. If you think coup was the main reason for changes, think again. It's time to deal decisively with the so called bandits and terrorists.
Na today? We know you are doing your job and for your very good friend. It's just saddening watching Fayemi reveal how they knew Jonathan was doing the right thing but they chose to remove him through propaganda and falsehood. Believe this old fox at your own peril.
Salewa97: The US government should be more concerned about the mass shooting in their country than meddling into the affairs of other countries
But you want them to give you aides and also provide you military assistance right? Is US father Xmas? Is it not funny when this government is challenged over the excessive borrowing, they'll reply that US is also highly indebted, but you want US to spend their borrowed funds on you. Ko le work.
Solve your problems and US will accord you the deserved respect.
Soludo is just beating around the bush just to be politically correct. He is always running his mouth like a tap. People never knew he was this petty.
The matter arising here is unabated killings based on religious inclination in the north. When this people in government talks, they forget that this foreign governments have comprehensive data of what is happening here through their various agencies working here in the country, so what fact is this journey men going to use to convince the US to act otherwise.
Christian killing Christians in Anambra is on what bases? Cultism, political thuggery, successionist agitation, fulani militia or religion? Publish your report mister governor and also convince your other SE Governors to do same. Because, it is certainly that the factors are not same across the South East, why is Abia the home town of MNK relatively calm, while your state and Imo state is always in the news?
Since the group decided to keep quiet when Muslims kill Muslims, do they expect Christians to do the same when Muslims kill Christians?
You guys have already divided Nigeria when you arm twisted Obasanjo and the rest of the country to declare sharia laws in Northern Nigeria. Are we collectively a secular country? On paper Yes, in practice No. The south is wiser today, you cannot choose when and how to unite the country unilaterally.
FarahAideed: “I swore an oath to defend the Constitution of the United States, but I cannot attack and kill my own parents because of a false accusation of killing Christians in my country.”
Suleman Isah Isah Nigerian-born U.S. soldier from Kano.
Suleman made headlines in 2020 when he married his American wife whom he met on Instagram.
https://x.com/DejiAdesogan/status/1985014225907933443?t=vGecml7HXXDvBJAAGNyUKQ&s=19[/quote]Can you imagine the stupidity. Why did he leave Nigeria? Why did he join the US army and not the Nigerian army since he so dearly love Nigeria? It seems he has rewritten the American constitution to disobey order. Well let him come back and join the Nigerian army, that way he will soon become manure for wild grass.
blacksam01: The thing the OP didn't say is dat her uncle lives in Lagos....
Again as deltans do, almost if not all of a kindred relocate to Lagos ND stay and die there....
Now the uncle needs to visit the village and consult with elders ND get list ND return to Lagos to give ur fiance..
Transport is 35k so to ND fro will b 70k
Plus many in hand...
So u see the uncle is not a trying to frustrate her as sh might b suggesting...
U see igbos build house in the villa and retire there when they are old..?
Exactly, marriage in Alaigbo is procedural. Marriage list is issued by the secretary of the kindred or village as may apply with a token cash and a bottle of hot drink. If the uncle is to travel to the village to collect it, he spend money on transportation and logistics. However her uncle need not go home, he can send message home for the list and pay for the collection fee and hot drinks. The list can be sent to her uncle through transporters and your guy will bear all the cost. This way it saves money and also dangers of the road. I did same for my sisters. I don't know if this can be sent via electronic medium to the uncle, but I know marriage list is given to the would be husband via physical paper.
If her father was alive, this wouldn't be an issue.
CLRF: This only sinister is the northern leader not accepting ranching, because it is easy to use wandering Fulani in desguise for plundering villages.
If Fulani herders leave the forest, any fulani remaining with being locally identified will be tag terrorists.
Again, are these guys in the bushes and forests Nigerians? Through Buhari's government this west Africa nomadic guys found home in Nigeria forest. The rest is history.
Omosofe69: The invasion of Iran, Iraq, Lybia, Affhganistan, has ruined those countries.
America is not pleased with Tinubu's Macho's posturing. Trump has BEEN gETTING capital NO from Tinubu for all his requests.
Tinubu rejected the transfer of prisoners from America to Nigeria, he refused raw eploration of our minerals. Elon wanted our Uranium, Tinubu said NO again. Guess what company is helping to mine our Uranium; companies from China. Nigeria refused Amerrican military base in Nigeria, Nigeria is tilting towards Russia.
Nigeria is too important and too strategic to be left floating. I t must be checked.
It looks good on paper to fight Jihadist but after that the country will be left prostrate, empty and in complete turmoil.
Tinubu needs to send powerful delegation to America to explain things and asked for help in a mutually benefiting manners.
Nigeria should lead with America supporting with intelligence and weapon. A unilateral invasion of a sovereign Nigeria is a slap on everyone's face
Dr Omosofe F.O
The effect of US involvement in these countries is so evident but what about our own government and leadership, are they not creating the opportunity for the likes of US to capitalise on? Does it mean as a country we can't truthful solve our problems? If we don't treat national issues with sincerity and purpose, issue like extra judicial killings will continue, injustice will continue. Let our government be sincere with the people and we will all support the government and fight for our country. A man fought and killed a transgressor in his farm in self defence he got a death sentence, that is a typical Nigerian story.
casualobserver: Just know that so long as there is a Nigeria with Ibos in it, there will never be an Ibo president. At this rate I’m not sure anyone wants to take a risk of even a VP.
It is the political class that hunger for Presidency, go out there and a take poll from the Easterners, especially those in the east to choose between Presidency in Nigeria and Biafra, come back and tell me the result.
casualobserver: Ibos should perish any thought of ever becoming president of Nigeria ever!
They have just sealed the fate of the Ibos politically.
Nigeria may break up but if Nigeria remains an Ibo will never be president.
They have just lost any votes they hadn’t already lost and this is not just Peter Obi.
The whole country knows this is the handiwork of the Ibos and they will reap the political rewards.
Go and read Arewa Twitter, there are all saying give them their Biafra! Are those the people who are going to vote for an Ibo president?
Trump cannot install Peter Obi. There is no magic they can do to get the votes.
So your friends in the north have agreed to a Biafran state rather than have a Peter Obi presidency. Those are the people that claim they love Nigeria. If I may ask you and your friends, are we a Secular country or Islamic country? Why run two legal system that are contrary to each other. When the states declared sharia legal system in the North, have they not surreptitiously created a county within a country? Why is it fine to kill someone on religious basis in the North but a crime in the south? At the end, the various tribe will decide where they want to belong, the choice to choose whether they want to belong in a union or not like the US.
zero8zero: But you're pampering IpOb terrorists because of tribal sentiments.
It's funny how one with a log in his eyes is busy pointing to the peck in another. There are killings in the East but are not genocidal or tribal or religious inclined. Any mass murder there, is definitely done by the security agents and those sponsored by the state through individuals. If you know you know. If you are truthful to yourself, you will acknowledge how happy the guys in the East were when Samuel Ekpa was arrested.
amaridigital: IPOB is an example of such groups killing Christians. The only difference is that the lives of those Christians they kill doesn't matter because the victims loved the killers. When Christians are killing Christians in the SE it's okay but it's wrong if moslems are killing Christians. I'm not sure you can win this argument since IPOB is there killing people in their region. The moslem community especially MURIC should tender detailed information about all these to some politicians in the US. Nigeria isn't the only country facing terrorism issues on earth
Do you understand the word "Genocide"? Do understand the word "mass burial"? If your MUMURIC fail to magnify with verifiable facts of the killing of Moslem in the East, then don't blame the Christians for magnifying the persecution and killing of their members in the the north. Let keep pandering with insecurity, we go see where it will lead to "your own' perceived country to. Do a little reading on Yugoslavia.
ALTERNATEID: While we cannot in all honesty wish away the cruel and evil killing of minorities in the north central states of Kwara, Benue, Plateau, southern kaduna etc, i strongly believe that the recent interest of the Trump administration is based on economic agenda and nothing altruistic. In this regard, I don’t think Donald Trump was misinformed.
Trump recently placed a 15% tariff on Nigeria and the country responded by banning the importation of 25 certain items from the country. The Tinubu administration has also been working on increasing local refining of petroleum products. Recently, a 15% tax on PMS importation was introduced to further discourage importation of petroleum products. This has seriously affected European and American refineries which are owned by Trump and his big oil buddies. They are not happy that Nigeria is prioritizing energy independence at the detriment of American and European oil companies.
Again, Nigeria’s recent romance with BRICS is unsettling the Trump administration. The BRICS countries are planning to issue a new currency so as to sidestep the US dollars and Nigeria has signed up to be a part of the BRICS monetary union. Trump had vowed to make sure this does not happen. The Yuan - Naira currency swap between China and Nigeria that has recently helped to strengthen the Naira is also another source of concern to the US.
So, a combination of all these issues plus Nigeria’s stance against the GAZA genocide is why Donald Trump is targeting the Nigeria government. If they can’t control Nigeria, they will do everything possible to destroy the country.
How does this improve security of lives and properties in Nigeria. Nigeria have lived on lies, deceptive unity and outright mismanagement of our diversity. Bringing in sharia legal system in a secular country is contradictory and a time bomb in waiting. The US may have chosen to ignored the brazen killings in the north for their own reasons. What is our reason for not being truthful with the issues of mass killing in the north? To whose interest is it? Why can't any one be prosecuted on religious killing like the killing of Deborah? Why can't the government publish and reveal the identities of those financing terrorism in Nigeria given by a foreign country? US is free to select want they want to do, what is Nigeria doing or want to do?
Eniitankorede: We know very well that an IPOB terrorist is doing the dirty job of throwing Nigeria under the bus in US. We know who is killing Christians in Nigeria. Without doubt it is the IPOB terrorists. You can’t pull a wool over our eyes.
You must be very proud of yourself for knowing so much. Clap for yourself.
In this shocking footage, armed bandits are seen freely moving around and even having fun in broad daylight — without fear of security forces. The video, which has sparked outrage across social media, raises serious questions about the state of insecurity and governance in the North.
Many Nigerians are now demanding answers from authorities on why armed groups continue to operate unchecked while innocent citizens live in fear.
👇 Watch the full video and share your thoughts in the comments! Do you think the government is doing enough to tackle insecurity?
When they introduced Sharia laws into our legal system, they were stylishly creating another country, the Islamic Kingdom of North. The Nigerian authorities there are only on peace mission, otherwise why will a country forgive their activities.
There is no single template to happy marriage. However it works for you stick to it, be sincere to yourself and your partner. A lot has changed in our society and so many good values that held our homes together are gone.
PigTormentor: Just another lying IPOB lawyer. These people are so pathetic with their little lies and deceit. Next time he will blame it on Fulanis. Simply pathetic
