Their shoul also be a bridge from umuoba road across the Aba river, moving over the Aba-ikotekpene expressway and leading to azikiwe road

That’s the road leading to the governors hometown. It also ends at umuahia -though this 1st phase starts from obikabia junction (Ogbon hill axis) to the governors home town.
Work is ongoing to link this road to Aba waterside -hopefully we see a dualised road springing up there.

There is also an urgent need for an expansion of the Aba-ikotekpene road from it’s present double lane (dual carriage) road to at least triple lane for each carriage. As business are taking over Aba Centre, residential houses are moving to the fringes causing heavy holdups each morning on that road

Groundwater recharge is a technique by which infiltrated water passes through the unsaturated region of groundwater and joins the water table.

This deep technical idea cannot be comprehended by supporters of a mere third class trader.

What is this one blabbing or have the hunger turn

your brain upside down?

Even you didn’t understand what you wrote . The proposal to recharge lake chad has always been on the table since 1970’s ,it will involve moving water from the Congo basin to the chad basin through canals. This is an ambitious and very costly initiative that Nigeria can’t handle or lead as most of the work will happen in countries not Nigeria. And in typical African tradition, the countries of the Congo basin are against tampering with there water bodies. Let me stop here for now.

This people do not hide how bad they are-they make unrealistic promises that a typical Nigerian can’t be bothered to see through and yet we wonder how we keep doing bad as a country .

He talked of the West and climate change, but it was this APC that tanked every coal power generation project The last admin approved.

It was this APC that derailed the Gas powered NIPP projects

Don’t we see the hypocrisy in that ? And oh! How is the Ogoni cleanup coming along ? Another unrealistic promise

Everything you mentioned is in the policy document. I just listen few of the 80 page policy document.

The restructuring you talk of is included in the policy document. Maybe you should read it first, digest it, and you can re-give your criticism.

By the way your criticism is very constructive and welcomed.

Punch the lazy media, are those the only highlight of the manifesto?

There are lot of highlights from that policy document. Some of them are:

—The policy document gives student the right to borrow from TetFund to pay school fees and they pay back in installment when employed.

— Establish new management system for federally funded primary & Secondary schools. This will be managed by boards of education and the membership will include members of the local communities who will have decision making powers. This board will oversee management of all government school within a given locality.

—Establish through new legislation a special education fund consisting of zero coupon bonds. The bonds will be sold in tranches to private investors or purchased in market clearing exercise by CBN. This will find universities while reducing the per capita tuition cost to students.

—NSCDC will now be handling VIP security and the police will focus on the usual securing of the populace.

—He will introduce Forest Security Force which will be a section that will man the forest in Nigeria to gather intelligence and act on it.

—Anti-Terrorist Battalions (ABATTS) will be created and they will be drawn from special squad with strategic and tactical abilities to go after terrorism and bandits.

—Merge housing agencies into a single vibrant one and they have three main core functionalities:
-Grant low interest rate mortgage.
-Guarantee qualified mortgages through bank.
-purchase mortgages from private banks.

—We are moving away from budget projection based on dollar value of oil revenue. The fiscal methodology will base the budgeting on projected level of government spending which optimizes growth and jobs without causing unacceptable level of inflation.

—He Introduced commodity boards for farmers which establishes minimum prices for cashew, cocoa, okra, palm, cassava, and etc. which will guarantee them that their proceeds will be fully bought. This will be done in conjunction with the private sector.

—Establish a FG funding for local government to construct storage facilities in major marketplaces of major cities/town to minimize waste and better preserve perishable food items.

—Establish special Enforcement and monitoring unit with mandate to protect the pipelines by deploying technological interventions of stationary aerial monitoring platforms. This will support the goal of increasing oil production to 2.6mmbpd by 2027.

—Create host communities Development Trust which will foster greater assistance from oil company to host communities. He will also mandate IOCs to assign a share of revenues towards knowledge sharing and tech transfers to indigenous companies.

—Decongest the Apapa Port and encourage greater use of other major seaports in the country such as Onne, Warri and Calabar. Our policies will include tax relief, credits, relaxed duties and tariffs and other financial incentives.

For the first time, were getting to see policy documents and we'll thought out feasibility studies of what Nigerias presidential candidates will do. That's the Peter obi effect. He just revolutionalized presidential elections in Nigeria.

About Tinubu's policy

I love the part about students getting access to loans and some other stuff, but we don't actually need more Schools and uni -especially since the existing ones are dormant.
We need a review of educational curriculum from creche to uni level. We need to get in touch with present realities.
We need a prodigious investment into schooling infrastructure and billions poured into reaserch grants, that way we can attract European ,American and Chinese educational elites who will help solve our local problems.

His action plan of security is worrisome and myopic. State policing is a must. No state in Nigeria today doesn't have armed vigilantes -so why the hypocrisy in legalizing them ? Setting up more Bat sqauds or whatever, loyal only to the centre will not solve our security problems, buying them all the weapons in the world will not solve it .A well equipped Afghan national army folded in days .
We don't need the NSCDC being security for VIP's ,the should be merged with the New police force.
Vip protection should be handled by private security companies , licenced by the federal government to carry arms.
That's part of state policing and will provide good paying jobs for retired forcemen -like happens in the developed worlds.

I didn't see anything on fighting corruption ? If he doesn't intend to fight corruption ,then we might as well go home.
The EFCC as a body needs financial freedom and independence to perform . It's leaders shouldn't only be from a very corrupt police force, but from people in the security field .

Encourage use of other ports is ambiguous and equivocal . It isn't a commitment .Every one in the shipping business isn't happy about how ports in Nigeria are run.Infact, our port is run by a cabal. The criminality in the port at Apapa accounts for over 20% cost accrued to imported commodities. We need deep sea ports built from Ogun -osun-Akwa ibom -cross river states , anything less is nothing . Provide security , infrastructure and remove the Fed imposed bottle necks and you will see that the onne port will boom.onne port accounts for majority of Nigerias exports in the oil and even manufacturing industry -why is it it plays no part in our import sector ?

We don't need any new host community body , fight the corruption in the NDDC, as a rule companies linked with senators or past/present high ranked govt officials shouldn't bis for contracts-infact we should adopt a similar process like the world bank in awarding contracts .

Apart from the student loans and maybe the housing part (It won't work because a very small percentage of Nigerian's can be actia termed Middle class-we need a massive investment in affordable housing for the poor ). Apart from the very few points ,all i see is creating more avenue's and agencies to loot Nigeria's dwindling fortunes.

And most importantly, executive cost has to be reduced.salaries and others payable to the senators , presidents and other political office holders have to have a relationship with our civil service payment structure. That way, when a teacher is complaining that her salary can't afford basic commodities, the man/woman who is governor will understand .That way, when I complain about the cost of diesel ,the senator representing me can relate. The present way and manner we pay them makes them live in an alternate reality to the rest of us.

We also need To have a national wage plan. Governments agencies like FIRSC,collect taxes and just leave indeginious workers to be marginalized. Nigeria doesn't even have a standard wage per hour or week etc for its citizens working in private sectors. That's why a private school will bill 76 k pee student while paying it's teachers 25-30 k. That's why a Lebanese operator will earn 200-300 k a month while his Nigerian counterpart earns 60-70 k in same company .

Lemme just stop here, honestly, most of the policy documents am seeing from LP and now APC is underwhelming and very local

To be honest, Abia State is no as bad as some detractors project it to be. I know there is so much to do, but the sadistic posts made by these urchins have really mudslinged Abia State.

Funny enough, their state isn't any better. Abia has underperformed when it comes to reaching it's FULL potential, but that is not to say it is the worst state.

Abia state has come a long way since 2015. And by no stretch is it the worst in Nigeria. The problem is the tribal politics at play. Most of the propaganda against the state is actually from a section of the state not happy with the tribe of the present governor-by 2023 ,you will see the truth in this.

This is a state that has the only gas infrastructure in the East -supplied directly to manufacturing firms.

The biggest collection of multinationals and arguably among the top 5 industrialized states in Nigeria

Hosts the only functional 3 power generating plants in the SE

Hosts two among the biggest markets in Nigeria

The biggest finished clothes and leather processing industry in west Africa

A state that in 3 years got the 2nd biggest capital import in Nigeria etc.

To unlock the industrial might of the East, Abia -especially Aba axis is key.

The day we Igbo come together , ignoring the artificial boundaries of state -created by an anti-igbo nation ,that day we will be suprised at our strength

I think this validates the rapid industrialization going on in Abia {Aba area) .
Abia got the second largest share of capital importation in Nigeria from 3019-2021.

I expect that to ride further as geometric power plant kicks off and many more industries and power facilities like Shell's city gate facility along gas line obingwa LGA comes onstream

The idiots are the few who allow themselves to be used in this divide and conquer tactic.

I guess youre among them. It isn't possible that no local saw that oil platform floating a few km to sea. It isn't possible that the locals didn't see huge construction equipment digging and burying those pipelines ,why did the choose to remain silent ?

When similar something happened in Anambra, the locals stormed the drilling site, took videos and exposed it hence the federal government had no option than to come clean and give Anambra it's little due as an oil producing state.

Look at the video again ,hope you noticed the squalor that the nearest local community was? No good road,no good houses etc, but they helped cover up theft of there resources

Our SS brethren ,who think that the Igbo man is there problem .
Our oyel crew, come and see how and who is stealing your oil.

Idiots that cant see what is before them. This is how gold is being stolen in the north -this theft of our resources isn't only limited to the south.

For over 9 years, the navy or police didn't see that offshore platform ?

The air force didn't see helicopters landing on that helipad ?

And NNPC didn't detect that there was a breach in a major trunk line ?

For 9 years ? No wonder Buhari got tired of being president, he and his parliament of vultures have finished Nigeria and thats why in his first and second coming,he was always the minister of petroleum.

These guys stole literally to the last barrel ,our yearly crude production.

While jobs where being letgo in the oil industry, while NNPC was remitting zero kobo to the federation account, while The government was buying hundreads of air frames and ships for the military ,they colluded for the biggest state sponsored oil heist in history.

In few days, we will see those who organized this theft come out to spin this, and yes it was those whoran this heist that uncovered it -few months to an ambiguous election.

One more thing, how did those youths suddenly discover that offshore platform after 9 years of being blind to the ocean going ships loading crude from there and helicopters bringing the crew operating them ?

How did they track a covered pipeline out to sea ? With a boat the most sophisticated tool they have ?

And if you understand there beret ,why did they hide their guns ?

But you and I know the truth.

So residents of Umuchichi are not in Aba? Abeg carry your wahala dey go front

Second picture is that of the popular kenlinks bakery (something only one who knows that area will know- people think it's only a fueling station) .
Umuchichi is in obingwa LGA and most of the people living there are not even Abian. Some of hhe sign post says landlords etc.
It has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that the governor is there alleged kinsman -which is a fat lie.

We who have properties in that area have tried to get the government to intervene severally . First it was that the road was an NDDC road project and then it became a federal government project under the tax waiver for road construction project. But while Dangote has commenced there's , Mtn that got the Enugu-Anambra road and GZI +Glass force that got the umuchichi -umueme road have been stalling . Once president Buhari steps down, this companies would have gotten away with using a road there companies trucks destroyed and failed to build to avoid paying taxes.

We aren't stupid . If the don't want to build it,they should state so , so that the state government contractor will take over- simple.

And doa little research ,there is a thread about Gzi getting tax waivers to build that road on Nairaland.

Citizens have trooped out this morning October 3 2022 to protest neglect of roads in Aba the commercial nerve center of Aba.

The ongoing protest commented at Umuchichhi axis with residents alleging that two companies in the area - GZI industries and Glass force industries have been granted multi million naira tax relief by federal government yet the road remains a death trap.

Calls are also made to government of Abia and other levels to come to the rescue of residents.

I actually have a property in the area. You left out that this is in obingwa LGA not Aba.

You left out that the state government has built the roads surrounding that axis- the okpulumbo road -obingwa LGA, the obikabia to obikabia road and many more

You left out that the federal government has according to them built that road twice since 2015( there was a huge signpost of bubu at the entrance to that road which was hastily removed once it collapsed again)

You left out that she'll excavated parts of thatroad last year while laying down gas pipelines

And most importantly, you left out that Gzi and glass force now ardagh glass, two major multinationals have been given massive tax
waivers from the FG to construct that road since 2 years now and yet the haven't done so.

The state government can't intervene .
