PoliticsOsun PDP, OAU Perfect Plans To Receive Jonathan In Ile-ife Today by 3pleo(op): 12:10pm On Nov 28, 2014
THE Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Osun State chapter and the authorities of the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, on Thursday, perfected plans to receive President Goodluck Jonathan in Osun today.

Jonathan is billed to attend a conference entitled “Nigeria Development: Whither the Yoruba”, organised by the Committee on Yoruba Progress, scheduled to hold at the Oduduwa Hall of the OAU.

In a statement issued on Thursday by the chairman of the PDP in Osun, Alhaji Gani Olaoluwa, the party affirmed that “necessary arrangement had been made to receive President Goodluck Jonathan”, describing his visit to Osun as “a homecoming for a performing president.”

According to the statement, “the visit would also afford Mr President the opportunity to meet with leaders of the South-West in an academic environment, where issues, relating to the interest and progress of the Yoruba would be discussed.

While pledging the unflinching support of the Osun PDP for the Federal Government under the leadership of President Jonathan, the party emphasised that “beyond politics, Mr President has demonstrated beyond all reasonable doubts that he is committed to the overall growth of Nigeria.

The statement reads in part, “Mr President, with the spread of federal projects across the zones of the country, has proven that he is a detribalised Nigerian. The PDP in Osun believes in the ability of Mr President to steer the ship of the country to a safe berth in spite of the many challenges facing the nation.”

Speaking on Jonathan’s visit, the Public Relations Officer of OAU, Mr Abiodun Olanrewaju, hinted that preparations were in top gear to ensure a hitch free reception for the nation’s number one citizen.

I think you guys are mixing things up here o. There's a clear difference between the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit, the baptism of the Holy Spirit and the gift of the Holy Spirit. The indwelling presence is during salvation, the baptism is when the person thirst for it and the gift is at the discretion of the Holy Spirit all the believer as to do is desire it. Hope this helps

PhonesRe: The 10 Best Features Of Ios 8 To Make Your Ipad Operate Like A PC by 3pleo: 11:36pm On Aug 02, 2014
1. Family Sharing

Another huge step forward in Family Sharing. This allows up to six family members to share books, music, movies and (presumably) apps between their own individual Apple ID accounts. The only requirement is the Apple IDs must all link to the same credit card.
Currently, many multi-device families share the same Apple ID so they can get at the same media. But this has its drawbacks. It means each device is plugged into the same iMessage and FaceTime, essentially giving you some crossfire from the other devices. With Family Sharing, each family member's device can be on its own Apple ID, allowing them to serve as truly separate devices without sacrificing the ability to share music and movies.

Family Sharing also has a pretty neat parental function. If your kid wants to download a $1.29 game on his iPad, you can receive a Yes/No permission message on your iPhone, either allowing the download or disallowing it. This will make monitoring the apps a lot easier.
Perhaps this will open the door for multiple accounts on a single device in the future.  Currently, it is possible, but by no means seamless.

2. Better App Store

The App Store has seen some criticism in its 6 years even if it has been functioning fine. Because it is so large, it is hard to keep everyone happy. The iOS 8 has updated it to make it better and more accessible. First of all, the icons are bigger and the items are spaced better. It has also addressed one of the biggest complaints, which is discoverability.

With the new OS, looking for new apps in the App Store is easier. There is a new button, "explore", that combines the buttons from before into one area with categories and sub-divisions. Also, the search button can show you a list of trending searches without typing anything. Once you type something, the App Store displays a list of items related, improving app discovery.

3. iPhoto, iTouch, HealthKit, HouseKit and more...

These are the features that will change the landscape of the iPad and iPhone by allowing more complex applications to run faster and interoperate like they've never been able to do before iOS 8. But there's much more packed into the next big step for iOS.
iPhoto is getting the ability to apply various features to brighten a photo or bring out the color using smart analytics under the hood without the need to know everything about contrast, brightness and exposure. These smart controls will help you turn that good photo into a great photo.
iTouch is being released into the wild. Currently, its mainly used to unlock your phone or purchase apps. With the iTouch API, any developer can get at iTouch and allow you to do things such as sign in or make purchases.
HealthKit is another neat feature. Apple is building a new connectivity into iOS that will allow your device to communicate with various hospitals, with the goal of alerting them to a problem faster than before via this new layer. The various health-related accessories that take blood pressure, monitor blood-sugar levels, check heart rate and track exercise will feed into the same interface, allowing you to get a better look at your health and fitness goals.
HouseKit is something that hit the buzz feed in recent weeks. Basically, Apple is doing their part to build a smarter house by creating a communication layer that will allow iOS devices to better communicate and control various smart devices around the house. You could dim your lights, open your garage door or even unlock your front door from your device. And you can combine actions, dimming the lights and making sure the doors are locked and the garage door is closed before getting ready for bed.

4. Continuity via AirDrop Handoff

AirDrop Handoff is a cool feature that any family that has multiple Apple devices will really enjoy. Essentially, it allows your Apple devices to talk to each other, allowing you to seamlessly transition from one to another. So if you are on a website with your MacBook and want to show it to your wife/husband in the other room, you can pick up your iPad, tap the Handoff button to automatically load the website, and walk into the room with a much lighter device. Or, if you start an email on your iPhone but want to finish it with a better keyboard, you can hand it off to your MacBook.

5. Extensibility and a New Kind of Multitasking

The protective bubble that surrounds each app can now be pierced via a new feature called Extensibility. This essentially uses the security layers in iOS to allow a piece of code from one app to run inside another app. So, for example, you could load up the Photos app, tap a photo and apply a filter from an entirely different application to that photo. Or you could load a web page and use the Bing app to translate a page from German to English.
Basically, it is multitasking within apps. Instead of popping out of the app your working in and running a new app to get at a certain functionality, you run a snippet of the app within your original app. In order to apply that filter to the photo in the Photos app in iOS 7, you would need to exit Photos, launch the other app, load the picture into it, apply the filter, save the changes, go back to the Photos app and delete the original picture to keep from having duplicates. In iOS 8, you will tap a button, choose the app, choose your filter, and save, all without leaving the Photos app.

6. Metal and Swift

Metal is a new graphics engine that will reduce the overhead of OpenGL, allowing games to process graphics up to 10 times faster. This means console-quality graphics on an iPad, and it could easily open the door for the type of games that you'd ordinarily need an Xbox or PlayStation to run.
Swift is a new programming language for developers to use in building apps. Billed as "Objective-C without the C", it gives the power and control of Objective-C without the huge overhead of writing lines and lines of code to do very simple things. More importantly, it's faster than Objective-C, so apps will be able to process information faster.
Both of these combine to mean more complex and more beautiful apps and games. Which is a good thing, because Extensibility and document sharing are going to open some new doors for iOS.

7. WidgetsWidgets

Are actually a byproduct of Extensibility, but they deserve their own mention. By using Extensibility and extending code to the Notification Center, apps can have their own individual widget. For example, the ESPN app you feed current scores and news from your favorite teams. Instead of launching the ESPN app, you just pull down the notification center and check for the latest news. This is a great way to get at multiple sources in one location, and because the notification center works from the lock screen, you don't even have to unlock your iPhone or iPad.

8. iCloud Drive and Document Sharing

iCloud Drive is more than just Apple's answer to Dropbox. It's Apple's answer to a central repository of documents for your iOS devices. That's huge. Currently, each app lives in its own bubble. One app can't touch documents or information from another app without permission, so working on a document in Microsoft Word and then opening it in Pages requires jumping through a hoop. That will change with iCloud Drive. You'll be able to store all of your documents in a single spot and modify them from multiple applications.
iCloud Drive will also be a huge boon to those who take a lot of photos. iCloud Drive can act as a photo and video repository, storing all of your pictures from all of your iOS devices in one central location. You'll be able to get at iCloud Drive from your iPad, iPhone, Mac or Windows PC.

9. Predictive Texting
According to Fast Co Labs, there will be a row of words that appear right above the keyboard. This is really handy when it comes to replying to text messages. There is a quick-type feature that lets you put in a few letters and will predict the word that you are typing. Surely many people will ignore it because they are used to typing the entire words, and may find it faster to do it the traditional way. This really becomes useful when it comes to replying to messages.
For example, a person will ask another individual if he or she wants to go out for dinner or go see a movie, the choices will be pre-populated. This will make it easier for the user to reply, and will no longer require them to type their reply. The predictive element will also allow for tailored responses based on how you speak to different contacts like your parents, kids, or friends.

10. Automatic Hotspot and Phone calls

Apple introduced a way for an iPhone to automatically become a hotspot for your computer and then also give you the ability to answer or make calls through your computer. You are thinking it is Google Voice, Hangouts and hotspot apps already on Android right? But see, that’s the thing – this is all seamless integration that doesn’t require launching an app or signing up for Google Voice. With Apple’s new voice call and hotspot integration, everything is just ready to work.
With the Hotspot idea, your computer recognizes that your iPhone is near and then lets you connect to it via hotspot to use your phone’s data connection. It just appears in your list of WiFi options to connect to without ever turning anything on on your iPhone. On Android, you could tap on a widget or icon to load up your hotspot, then activate it, but automatic is automatic, and something I think we would all prefer.
With voice calls on iOS 8, you can answer or place calls on your computer as long as your iPhone is attached (likely tethered) to your computer. Now, you can do this with Google Voice/Hangouts integration on Android, but that’s another app or service you have to sign-up for. Apple is allowing you to do all of this without signing up for something separate. Google seems to be moving this direction with Hangouts (or has at least promised that it’s coming). While iOS 8 has been announced, it won't be released until sometime in the September to October time frame.

Without going into too much detail, i bet you would like to see Android adopt the interactive notifications system that lets you respond to messages directly from your notifications center without having to open up other apps; more seamless mobile hotspot and phone call integration with your computer that doesn’t require signing into other services; faster ways to access the people you call and message the most; basically all the new features that Apple brought to Messages in iOS 8; the Family Sharing feature that lets you share things you’ve bought on up to six different iOS devices as long as they’re all registered with the same credit card; and the new App Store feature that will let developers bundle their apps together and sell them at a discount.
