You sound so confused Mr. Man. I know it's in your dna as an APC member, but you guys should quit getting things twisted. All Nigerians are not as dumb as APC.

And, FYI, the US oil production is expected to hit 10 million barrels per day by next year:

https://www.cnbc.com/2017/06/06/us-oil-output-to-hit-record-10-million-barrels-a-day-next-year-eia.html

Whilst, you should also know, Russia's output is over 5000 barrels per day.

So, Mr., if oil money makes nations lazy, how come those two countries are not seen as lazy too?

undecided
Look man, you WIN! I'm tired of this dumb shiit! especially when it has now become an APC vs PDP issue to you (or probably you only saw it as APC vs PDP all along, now wonder we could never be on the same page).

If you dont understand my point about how the feeding bottle arrangement of Nigeria's structure has made 5 out of 6 zones in Nigeria to be lazy and parasitic to free oil money coming from the SS, then I'm sorry I'm a bit too busy right now to continue with these explanations which are like pouring water on a rock. You win! I am dumb! Bye!

That is the reason behind the call for restructuring! He need not pray that it (oil) should dry up rather he should support restructuring and reasource control. There are many oil producing communities without drinking water and Abuja is build solely on monies from oil.
It is a good thing some persons has realise that free monies (awoof- dey run belle) but for an oil producing communities without basic social ammenities whose farms and rivers has been totally destroyed by oil exploration and production,,,,,it is not free money o!
The point El-Rufai is really getting at - and which all those insulting him have clearly missed - is that as long as there are huge amounts of "oyel money" to be shared, Nigeria's elites will never be ready to agree to any changes that will deny them access to a share of the oil rents, no matter how terrible the long-term consequences for the economy as a whole.

It's the same greedy mentality that drives so many Nairalanders to curse El-Rufai for wanting the oil to run out before they get "their turn" to "enjoy" that will ensure "restructuring" and "resource control" will never win enough northern votes if it costs them their federal allocations, contracts, oil blocs and ministerial appointments. Not that most of the southerners demanding "resource control" are really any better: instead of demanding that the individual owners of the land be given the rights to resources found on or under it, all they want is to keep the same old socialist setup, but get more of the oil rents diverted to their state governors, who can buy even more planes, yachts and foreign mansions while the communities in which the oil is found continue to go without decent roads, schools or even potable water.

Good.

Next time stick to the facts and quit twisting issues.

Oil do not make nations lazy. Nations get lazy because they choose to be lazy.

Yes, the structure is designed to promote laziness and exclusive extraction.

But why blame it on the oil?

Take away oil, your folks will still be lazy DUE TO SOMETHING ELSE.

So, praying for the oil to dry is not just silly, it's insane.

But, why am I not suprised?

You and your gang probably thought that unrefined crude is all there is to oil.

You are beginning to irritate me with the some of your senseless comments. When you repeatedly use the statement 'your folks', who exactly do you refer to?... Who exactly are 'my folks' and why in your wildest imagination do you think you know where I'm from because I commented on an issue online? undecided

And what exactly is the meaning of your last statement?
