But how can a State enact a law that is detrimental to those who are non Yoruba speaking lagosians?
They should take advantage of the opportunity

You got my drift! Exactly the reason the piece of legislation is as timely as it is needful.

Education is on concurrent legislation list, the tone of whatever bill Lagos is proposing to pass must not contravene the spirit of our constitution, else it will lose out if taken to court. Constitution remains the supreme law of the land. My opinion.
You said concurrent not exclusive to FG. In other words, it's in order.

Hope you will not repeat this rant is igbo is made compulsory in Anambra

And if I may ask,how is that detrimental?
Detrimental in the sense that if you fail Yoruba language as a subject you may repeat the class.

so that is detrimental?

why must you fail?

were you not taught?

I know you will eventually say learning English is detrimental because if you fail it you will repeat.

This is completely nonsense!!!! Majority of lagosians don't understand Yoruba language. But if they must recognize indigenous language, which am in support of it, they should also try to recognize Hausa and Igbo languages too because of their great population in Lagos.
Is Lagos hausa or Igbo land?Go and make similar laws in your land and stop whinning about how others choose to run their property.Like someone here rightly said any non-westerner who isn't pleased with it is free to catch the next bus to Onitsha or Maiduguri. Stop the unnecessary attachment of false importance to yourselves. No matter how large you think and chest beat about your people's population in lagos, you all can NEVER outnumber the original owners of the land except you choose to live in delusion.

Are you mad?

Igbo fucking what!

Go back to your East and make Yoruba Lang compulsory for your fucking children there first.

Until Yoruba Lang becomes part of your curriculum in the East

Igbos are fucking greedy, they ll be asking for what they ll never tolerate in their land.

This is exactly what Sir Ahmadu Bello said in 60s.

The same attitude of greediness that was mentioned by that man is still being exhibited by these greedy buffoons
ask d Igbo's how many south west or northern people owns a piece of land or houses in there states as it be in southwest.

I don't think u live in Lagos. Most people in Lagos understand Yoruba even if you choose not to learn or speak the language one way or the other u understand it.

We have told you people no matter how cosmopolitan Lagos is, Lagos is still Yoruba Land.
