May all those people that support this killing never hear the sound of babies in their homes, and not even in the generations that will follow theirs for ever!. May the pains they have caused these ones, live in their houses for ever.

U see, these are the main reasons why some pple need to grasp the situation of things before coming on here to blab. what has islam got to do with these killings now? is it because it happened in jos and there had been on-going tribal wars, u think that everything violent has to be islamic in nature and religion? are there no longer christain or pagan hausas and fulanis anymore? did any of those who perpetuated this act tell u or give u a call that he is a muslim?

that is the problem we people of this world have today. anything related to the north has to be islamic in nature. i really don't blame u for having this warped sense of reasonong cos that is what many pple have painted the religion to be. islam is a peaceful religion and there is no true muslim who believes in the shedding of his fellow human's blood. whoever says islam is meant to be a bloody religion only says so to decieve pple. all these crisis going on all over the world are all just for their respective selfish needs. if u actually sit down and find out what actually ISLAM is, u won't come on here asking such an insulting and offensive question.

calm down hypocrite. there are hundreds other ethnic groups in nigeria . . . none is guilty of this constant, inhumane level of barbarity. shame on islam.

you say islam is not meant to be a bloody religion . . . ever read the history of your own religion and its prophet?

Read the latest reports from muslim countries on a daily basis?

Islam is PEACE.

if you actually stop thinking in your miopic way and look at things deeper rather than just the obvious u will know what i mean. I am a muslim and i go to mosque regularly, and not on one occassion have i been told to go out and kill my fellow human being. If u read my post well, most of the violences that occur have been happening due to selfish interests of their so-called leaders and lack of education. and most of these so called "islamic" killings are mostly limited to the north. how often do u hear that a set of muslims stand up down south and perpetuate this act?

to your second question, why not find out urself what is being said about the prophet b4 u come here nd tell me what to do? if u believe more on hearsay, i'm sorry to tell u but u are damn mistaken pal. hypocrite my back end.

@ Blackman,

You can make your point with facts and figures but those who Allah will ,will know better. Education forms the major obstacle to those who kill in the name of Religion. How can one kill ? for who ? and for what sake ? I have not read that from any scripture. May Almighty Allah forgive us all. And those who judge without caution, those who conclude without caution, God will forgive us all. God is all knowing.

I see this comment to be too harsh, but in it, remains the fact; Islam is a killing religion. There is nothing good about it, and the founder.

No one is being judgemental here. The first picture here says it all. That is what a bad doctrine, from a bad religion, can cause a people, and a nation. Now, you judge!.

Thse same fulani headers are said to be responsible for the escalating brutal robberies down south, west and eastern part nigerai.

Deep down,it could just be another form of internationally sponsored terrorism capitalizing on the porous security system in nigeria to terrorize the people.

Yes, you must be right here. Something tells me, these guys are mechineries. They are paid to destabilise this nation. Even Nigeria Army, is now called "Islamic Army" in this picture and scenario. GOD will deliver us from Nigeria and the evil spirits invoked in by Islamic fundamentalists.

@HardTalk

I feel your anger and your pain but please remember that it is this type of religious discrimination that has lead to this mezz.I dont blame the killers ,i blame our leader. This will not happen in a country that has good leaders. Jonathan “dumb head” is busy re appointing useless people (old cargos) to be his NSA instead of hiring professionals from foreign security firms.

Remember blackwater in Iraq, the USA used that security firm to to quell a lot of rebellious factions in Iraq, that is what we should be doing.

You see in my heart after seeing these pictures ,all i can think of is how i can successfully assassinate all the Nigerian Leaders starting from the acting president ,to the ministers, to the generals to the state governors, to the senators and so on and so forth.

They all deserve to die, they allowed this to happen. They were busy sharing $2billion Oil excess while the killers were mobilizing.

This will not happen in Israel because mossad has taken necessary precaution to protect the people of Isreal from fanatics. I bow my head in shame; today i wish i was not a Nigerian. This nation is cursed by PDP and until we kill these leaders, things like Jos crisis will continue to happen.

@ Shoot2kill; It is really painful. Just imagine any of these to be one's brother or sister. If we say it does not concern us, after all, none of our relatives is there, then someday, it will definitely happen. What shall we do? What shall others do? After all, we never shared the pains of others!. May GOD help us all.

Muslims have proven time and again that islam has nothing to do with peace and politicians are fully aware although they must sound politically correct by saying it is a 'religion of peace'
That apart, it baffles me that muslims go about they normal businesses elsewhere in Nigeria, freely and sufficiently protected by the taxes of the same people they butcher their relatives for the flimsiest reasons.

HOW LONG SHALL THIS CONTINUE?

My dear Fellow Nigerians,

There is no doubt that the gruesome crimes that have been committed in Plateau State in recent times are indeed one of a kind. No one is happy about it and it is clear that we do have a very serious problem on our hands,

But i implore us all, the fact that this things have happened do not necessarily mean that the religion in question preaches these crimes! It is not enough to cast judgement in blind rage and anger. I daresay that the most blatant comments i have seen here today can and may lead to another crisis! That is not helpful at all. If you look hard enough you must know some muslims who are good and by all standards can be said to be good nigerians, so why the generailization. The only reason why we are not yet at each other's throats right here is probably because we are respectable educated people. Though not an excuse, illiteracy plays a major role in these atrocities. i do sincerely hope that our comments be made after proper consideration, because i cannot in any way imagine my next door muslim neighbour coming over to my house to slap me cos i am a christian.

JOS—OVER 200 people, mostly women and children, were, yesterday, killed in three villages near Shen in Du District of Jos South Local Government Area of Plateau State by suspected Fulani herdsmen, on reprisal attacks.

At least 45 children, including toddlers, were among those hacked to death, gunned down or roasted in their abodes by the marauders at about 2.30 a.m.

Most hit was Dogon Na Hauwa village where most of the killings occurred and more than 75 houses were razed, but nearby Ratsat and Jeji villages were not spared.

A victim, Musa Gyang who spoke to journalists where he is receiving treatment at Plateau Specialist Hospital said they were woken up by gun shots in the middle of the night and before they knew what was happening they saw their houses torched, and as they ran out they were attacked with gun shots or machetes.

Journalists broke down in tears as they saw corpses, some with heads severed from their bodies,

Plateau State Commissioner for Information, Mr. Gregory Yenlong who briefed journalists later said the corpses would be given a mass burial, adding that security has been beefed up to contain the situation .

Yenlong described the attack on the Berom villages as ethnic cleansing, saying some families were completely wiped out. He said the attackers were suspected to be Fulanis who came on foot from elsewhere to beat security but called for calm, stressing that government was intensifying efforts to track down the attackers.

The Gbong Gwom Jos, Da Gyang Buba who visited the area also lamented the gruesome murder of innocent people describing it as man’s inhumanity to man.

He said he received information of planned attacks on villages and informed the security agencies appropriately wondering why the attacks still happened.

Addressing the survivors, he said: “I am deeply sad. We can’t continue like this; we are not animals. We’ll go back and discuss with government even up to Abuja and make our case. Let’s have patience. There is no alternative to patience and don’t let us take laws into our hands. Do not do anything that would aggravate the situation.”

Massacre: Fulani herdsmen kill 500 in Plateau State
From Mariam Aleshinloye Agboola, Jos

Monday, March 8, 2010
No fewer than 500 persons have been brutally murdered and many wounded in three villages in Jos South and Barakin Ladi local government areas of Plateau State by persons suspected to be Fulani herdsmen.

Victims of the latest disturbance in Jos on Sunday

[img]http://odili.net/news/source/2010/mar/8/sun/masacre[1].gif[/img]

According to an eye-witness account, the men who arrived at Dogo Nahawa and Shen in Jos South local government area at about 3am massacred the villagers including women and children in their sleep in what was believed was a reprisal attack on villagers who were not part of the Jos crisis of January 17 this year. A similar attack took place in Fan, Barakin Ladi local government area.

The Dogo Nahawa and Shen villages are close to Du village the country home of Governor Jonah Jang.

The state Commissioner of Information and Communication, Gregory Yenlong, who briefed journalists shortly after visiting the affected areas, confirmed the casualty figure and described the massacre as ethnic cleansing aimed at the Beroms and called for the arrest of the National Public Relations Officer of the Myetti Allah Cattle Farmers Association, Alhaji Saleh Bayare.

He said a mass burial would be held for the victims on Sunday evening even as government has tightened security in and around the affected villages.

Some of the victims brought to Plateau Specialist Hospital were carrying machete cuts on the head and some of the dead ones including children had their heads severed from their bodies.

The Chief Medical Director of Plateau Specialist Hospital, Dr. Pam Datong, said so far he had received six corpses and nine persons wounded in the attack.

Commenting on the incident, the Gbong Gwom Jos, Jacob Gyang Buba , described the massacre as a heinous crime against humanity, pointing out that while the state government and prominent citizens were trying to ensure that normalcy was back to the state, some people were bent on ensuring that Plateau knew no peace.

The traditional ruler who said he had been receiving threat calls from persons saying his kingdom would be attacked vowed that the perpetrators would not go unpunished.

Governor Jang who had also visited the areas affected urged the people of the state to maintain peace, assuring that government was doing its best to arrest the situation.
