I don't know what Lagos is trying to achieve by all these industrial and economic thrives. It's too intimidating. There are two countries in Nigeria Lagos and Nigeria. Congratulations to lagosians and to my developer brothers come back home please.

Some people will not have a pleasant weekend grin

Those developers will eventually have a place to live there(Eko atlantic) while you stay in your brown roof somewhere in Oshogbo and type nonsense

Lagos used to be the capital of Nigeria. That pulled people from all other states. They invested and could not leave the investments even after the capital was moved

Moreover Lagos is the gateway to other West African countries . River State is more or less of the last bus stop of southern Nigeria , so the human traffic is minimal.

Also, with and international airport, former stock exchange building, CBN head quarter, etc people have no choice but to come to Lagos to access these institutions.
CBN is now in Abuja, Lagos,Ogun and Kwara are the Gateway to West Africa in Nigeria.

So much hatred ,guy nawa 4 u ooo

I don't know if this is envy you're displaying here cos the Edo state you're talking of is a very useless state. I've lived there all my life,Government officials steal like there's no tommorow, road construction is always done during rainy season and the "construction" lasts about 3 years .something that can be done in a month Max!!

it's nobody's fault that other states are striving to be better, don't make excuses for peoples incompetence.

I'm from delta by the way,and my state is wayyy worse than Edo state.
if anybody oppose you, then the person is hating ,sorry . All am saying is that the eko ish is taking like forever. They are trying but they are looting in terms of eko bla bla.

You people should better start going home to attract investment, even if it will be to come to Lagos and work because one day Nigeria will eventually split.

It's an advice not mockery.

Did you see the word "former" in that sentence? Have you considered that it takes all sorts to make the world? Those other places you listed, do they have all the institution and infrastructure of Lagos?

Seriously dude? How long do you think it takes to build a city? The Dubai that you see today started as a project in 1974. And they are not done yet. They are currently working on another project called the Universe, that will take 15-20 years to build.

Don't let unnecessary hate cloud your better judgment.

Am not talking about the year Dubai started, if you are talking about the year Dubai started, then you have to start weeping for Nigeria. Do you know how many years it took Dubai to build palm island ? All saying is that the looting with this eko whatever is too much abeg.

Who won't allow it? There are many seaports on the American coastlines, but not all of them are equal in terms of commercial viability. There are several other factors that contribute to that including but not limited to level of economic activity, industrialization and access to key commercial cities. Even the size of the port will determine what kind of ships can berth there.

See another factor below from dammiecool.

you are right but what am saying is that federal government should focus on making the seal port of gelegele and others standard port, then you will development.

Is the bold part your idea of a silly joke?
Who makes up your Eko ti ko fi ni baje?
What % of those in southern Nigeria will live in your “environments such as this”?

A small percentage because the reality is that the reason why Nigeria is the way that is is due to the ideas and behaviour of the useless majority.

They are the reason why so many of the markets are untidy.

Why there are street hawkers all over the place.

Why the police solicit bribes and why the politicians are so useless.

What a fantastic projects, very happy seeing this.

In fact I'm congratulating those who have taken the ongoing opportunities to secured at least a plot of land in Ibeju-Lekki and those that will still take without delay. It's going to be great.

Congratulations in advance.

Wonderful.. .but the problem in Nigeria is our poor maintenance culture....
..

A classic example is our stadiums..
..
I hope they can maintain this new project and keep it neat and clean after usage starts

Yes, we know there is looting with projects like this, but even Dubai palm island wasn't built in less than 20 years. The project started in 2001 and isn't fully completed yet. You can frown at the looting, but it doesn't mean we should disregard the entire project. Mind you, most of that project is privately financed.

Even the federal government will weigh it's options before investing funds in building a seaport.

You mentioned Edo state for instance. How far is Edo state from Lagos? Which would be better, building a railway line that can be used to deliver cargo from the Lagos port to Edo state and its environs or building a port in Edo state. These are factors you consider in developmental planning. Rivers State is also not too far from Edo state.

Massive, functional ports in Lagos, Port Harcourt and Calabar with a good rail network should probably be enough for the federal government. States like Delta, Edo etc can then be allowed to run smaller ports.

Do you even own a house in anywhere in Lagos, Mr. forcer? Cos people that do and are living comfortable don't make comments like yours. You see you're pained it appears developers are obstructing you... don't worry hustle better and leave hate, you might own a house in Eko atlantic. Developers are not going anywhere, do your worse.
